I am happy to be the first to throw down a review of Platinum Rx. This place is easy to get to...and living in East County that is a big issue. I happened across this place, as myself and three friends were returning from the THC Expose in L.A. We attended the Expose and knew we would hit traffic on the way home so we decided to make fun of it and check out dispensaries on the way back from L.A. to San Diego. After a stop at a place in LA and a hit and miss in Dana Point I decided to keep truckin' and hit San Diego.
The problem was two of the friends were patients under 21 so we became limited. We wanted some edibles my favorite doesn't carry edibles and my other Favorite is 21 and over. So as we were driving and checking Weedmap.com as we drove we noticed a Magnifying glass over the Claremont Mesa/805 area.(close to 52). I knew of a place in that area that was no more. Excited to see the spectical in the area we went for it.
We entered the dipensary to find two bowls of munchie food free for the patients and a very kind staff offering cold beverages water, soda, coffee while the verifications were made. We all found that very nice and accomodating. The place just opened on 4/20 and I know I will be returning.
The buds were all very good looking and fresh. It was hard to choose from white rhino or white russian and the Bullrider mix looked awesome. As did the Blue Dream. I left with 2 1/8's and a 1/4 z butter. I chose the NYC Diesel(hair on my neck stood up) and the Purple Urkle. I have seen this strain many places and being "Purple" always caught me attention but the bud didn't. This Urkle is so Purple with prominent Orange Hairs that just give it a beautiful look to complement the Hi!!!!gh!! The staff was knowledgeable and I will be back.

Very nice welcoming staff.
You can't go wrong with Platinum. Upon entering is a nice lounge with snacks set up and the location is very convienant. Very friendly staff. They take time with their patients in getting them setup with whatever they need. The medicine is very nicely priced and is primo. Ask for the blueberry muffin, it's a perfect way to start a day with your morning coffee. The White Russian, Strawberry Creme, Afghani and Brain Wrek are excellent. I look forward to trying the other varieties.

Keep going back
Do yourself a favor and check this place out. From my first review I have been back twice. My second visit I picked up some UK Cheese and some Afghani-Bullrider...WOW The Cheese makes you think you have cheese dust from eating the finest Cheese and the Afghani Bullrider has Hippie red hair...My latest visit I picked up some White Rhino and Skunk #1. All their Buds are of the highest quality. The snacks and drinks offered are an amazing tough to an already awesome experience.
I have also tried the cannabutter. Made some peanutbutter cookies and they were very relaxing. This place has easy access from the 805 and even better to the 52 for the trek back to East County.

Not a bad Bud in the House! Great Edibles, Olive
This is my 3rd review for this place...and it only gets better. They are adding new Buds all the time. They have a great edible selection and they are potent and taste good. They have cannabutter and Olive oil for cooking. Again, coming from East County being in a certain area and knowing a Quality place is only minutes away is great because of time and traffic.

I don't remember this place for it's meds. From what I remember, the selection was low when I got there, but I managed to purchase a quarter of some awesome smelling Skunk 1.
What I do remember about this place is the professional atmosphere, the plush waiting room (free refreshments included full size candy bars and bags of chips, super bonus for a sweet tooth like me), and the fact that only one guy was handling the whole operation, smoothly I might add.
I had a decent convo with the owner of the shop about how hard it is to find quality these days and how annoying it is when new patients call just to ask about the free gift. I actually spent more time talking with the guy about buds than I did choosing.
Also checked out this stuff he had called "Nepalese Hash" it looked darker than most concentrates. With little bits of plant matter still stuck in there. I asked about it and he explained that it's actually one of the more potent types of hash out there. I did some research and found this to be very true. It seems to be one of the earliest and most powerful concentrates in existence, and you can pick it up for 30/gram here!

Northern Lights and Woody Crack
Stopped in again to check out the new strains this place is always coming up with. This time I had to replenish my Sativa supply and I hit the Jack-POT.
I finally found Northern Lights...Now no offense Old School71 , I am older school, in fact my school was a shack, but we had Northern Lights and this is the way I remember it! Sticky...sticky...sticky. The frosting on the buds glisten in the Sunlight. The bud sticks to your fingers and you can still feel the resin after preparing the bud for ignition.
The Buzz is a strong, happy, gotta get things done and focus high. Definitely great for the Day.
I don't have a problem smoking too much Pot...But damn! I sure am addicted to buying it! On that note...
The Woody Crack is another Sativa that complements the NL. The Buds are Christmas tree shaped. Light and Dark green covered in white frost and hidden behind a dense forest of orange hairs. The Smell and taste are sweet and smooth. Very nice and enjoyable.
They have hash and a great assortment of Edibles too. The Cannabutter and Olive Oil are nicely potent. I made some Bertolli Pasta and added 5 table spoons of the Olive Oil and cooked it up. After an hour I had one of the most relaxing feelings I have experienced.

Great New Dispensary
I decided to give this dispensary a try because it was close to where I work. I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is professional and relaxing. There is comfortable seating and free snacks. The pricing is a little high but close to average. However, the quality is there. All of the strains look and smell great. There is a nice selection of edibles. Try the Nepalese Hash, it is the fire and I am told they will try to carry it on a regular basis.
New shop, very nice owner and staff. I have found a new dispensary. Looking forward to see what happens with this place in the future.NerdMike -
Platinum Kush
I was referred to Platinum by a few friends of mine. I must say that as soon as you walk through the doors the atmosphere is comfortable, professional and friendly. They have comfortable seating, free munchies and a nice TV. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable, the buds were nice and fresh and I was a big fan of the Platinum Kush and the Purple Bubba (even though it didn't last long). Since I first came to the shop, I have been back at least 3 times and plan on going back again. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

XXX OG is Great Looking tasting stoney!
Got to stop bye Platnium Rx and icked up some cannabutter and some of the XXX OG. They have a huge selection of edibles. BBQ Sauce, Olive Oil and the usual sweet edibles. Cooking with Bud is bitchin'. I have used the oil and butter in the past and made my own great edibles, haven't made anything this batch, but will.
The XXX is gorgeous bud. The nugs are frosty green that when opened reveal a beautiful violet/lavendar color that starts just under the green. It looks like Blackberry Kush or California Kush I've had. The Blue Dream looked fresh...Thats what I'll get tomorrow.

Best Verification Lobby Ever!
I went here today for my first time to check it out. I was greeted by a huge flat screen and a nice lady. She offered me something to drink and had tons of snacks and candy out if we wanted any. After we filled our paper work out we went into the back room. There bubba Kush was bomb. They have several different clones as well. The board had grams priced out at $25, but I guess that was a typo. Overall pleasant experience.

Completely Satisfied
Went here for my first time on Monday night and I think this might be my new spot. They definitely have top shelf medicine, their house strain the Platinum OG looks better than planetaries that im normally stoked to get at other dispensaries. Cap at 60 which is expected i guess for the best... Personally i got the bubba kush which is honestly THE BEST bubba i have EVER smoked. Possibly worth 65 at clubs that do that. I only looked at 4 or 5 of their strains, but all of them were extremely good representations of their respective strains. Also never had the kind bakery before but these might be my new fav edible. the cookies were green basically and i love how they tell you which strains they used to make the butter. Also I had THE coolest budtender ever. She was extremely nice and knew what was up. Cant wait to go back and try something else

I have found when you are a new member at most dispensaries you are catered too your first visit(or should be)and when you return, you are just another customer. The Staff at Platinum Rx makes you feel like family every visit. Entering the They have consistent Top Quality Strains and are getting new flavors everyday.
The Warlock is a very nice smoke. The Buds are beautiful and Frosty. Nicely mancured almost looks like a Planetary strain. The interestesting thing about the Warlock is the smell. For the look of the Bud you'd expect the Planetary citrus smell taste and with the Warlock you get a subtle, gentle, not over powering smoke that is like a light flower taste and leaves the back of your neck feeling like its relaxed against a neck roll pillow. This is Hotel Meds. You can smoke it in Public without drawing much attention because of an overwhelming aroma.
For Edible Fans. Eating a Brownie or cereal treat is great once in a while, but I don't want to become fat(ter). Try the Olive Oil! It is by far, the best way to experiance the benefits of Edible THC. Don't plan on going anywhere. One or Two Table Spoons for a personal bowl of Pasta or Salad.

First Timer!!
This was my first visit to this place and was happy and not happy when i drove up. It's not very wheelchair friendly. It really didn't matter by the time i left though. This very nice young lady did everything she could to accommidate me. She brought the paperwork to me and a menu to look at. Picked up an oz of some Bubba Kush that really hit the spot for pain. I really appreciate this place for going out of their way to help me get the right meds i needed and at an awesome price too!! Thank you again! I will definitly be back.

This place is awesome. I love the staff. They are really friendly, nice, and knowledgeable about their work.
Its a really cozy and comfortable atmosphere. I can take my time, I dont get the feeling of being rushed into making a decision which I like.
They always have great buds. They even let me pick out my own buds which is sweet. Really liked the Warlock, L.A. Confidential, Afghan bull-rider, and the Skunk #1.
I also really love their selection and quality of their edibles. Portions were large and tasted great! Reese's Fudge Ganja Brownies are my favorite.

Bubble Funk and using a Flavor Sabre Ceramic Heat
First the Bud review..Then I'll tell you about the Wand that will change the way you Medicate. I picked up some Bubble Funk. Bubblegum x Skunk #1 Hybrid. It is very sticky! The Buds are a good size with amazing colors. The Deep Green and Long Orange Hairs posed against a backdrop of Light Frosty Green, did I say Frosty yet?, Bud. The Bud is sticky with an insane amount of goodness on the Trichomes. The Bud is a nice full smoke with a sweet taste. However, one little bud did have a sweet to skunky aftertaste...AWESOME.
Have you heard of the Flavor Sabre Ceramic Wand? This thing is Bitchin!!! I have looked for something like this for years...I have used Soldering Irons, Woodburners, Butane Soldering Gun and I have seen other Dispensaries with a HUGE wand. Even at the THC Expo in LA I searched for something like this. It heats up in just a few seconds, it cools down faster than metal units, and the weed ignites immediately for a Flavorful Hit! I like to Vape but I also like to really taste the Buds not Butane.

So hopefully this review works cuz for some reason it didnt let my 1st review go up which was also a 5 star review. Went to Platinum for my second time and left even happier than my 1st time visit which usually never happens at clubs. Usually your treated great your first time and then after that you get worked. This place is VERY compassionate and they know how to treat their patients. Every time you go there you have the option of drinks candy and chips which is very nice but not the reason i come here. 1st thing i noticed here was bud quality, top notch which i have to say kinda surprised me. I hadnt heard much about these guys but i guess they havent been open too long yet. Good variety of strains definately something for everyone here, and each strain they carry is a very good representation of what you expect from that strain. They Budtenders I have had so far have been extremely nice and welcoming, by far best service ive had in san diego. I got the bubba kush from here which is the best bubba ive had period. Their platinum also looks rediculous. As far as edibles they have plenty of mouth watering treats from different well known companys. They carry the kind which is my new favorite i like how they list the strains used in their butter. Also have to mention the camera/magnifier/light they have to inspect the bud projected up on a screen... baller. And I saved the best for last. I got this thing here called a flavor sabre because of a previous review about it and this thing rocks! Burns the bowl perfectly with no flame or butane creating a clean, efficient, and TASTEFUL hit that cant be beat. The price was a little steep i thought but once i used it i was more than satisfied. Basically Ive found my new go to place, Platinum Rx. Cant believe they r just starting, i see big things in their future

Platinum Fantastic!!
Excellent new spot! Was kinda hesitant at first, since they are in the same building as one of the 'worst' clubs listed on WM. Called Answerdam or something to that effect?? Glad they're outta there. Fortunately, I was relieved to find a very comfortable and professional atmosphere. The check in process was quick and easy and the staff were great. Easy to park as well. The meds were amazing. Picked up one of my faves, the Blue Dream, super quality!! First time patients get a free 'J' or a 4 gram 1/8. I took the 'J' and was very happy with it. Thanks again!! I'll be back for sure!!!

Platinum Lights
Can't say enough nice things about this place, they are doing it right.
Normally, I prefer sativa strains but have been experimenting with indicas and hybrids because they help keep me in my seat better when I am studying.
I stopped by specifically to pick up some GDP which was looking good the day before when I saw the jar of Platinum Lights. Looked and smelled great, cross between Northern Lights and Trainwreck. Nice NL flavor with just enough body high to keep me in my seat long enough to finish my paper. Highly recommend you give this one a try.NerdMike -
Always something new...Always really good.
The name is Platinum and I am always treated like Platinum. Doug is always getting different strains and as a member you are notified by a text to any specials that may be offered. The strain may change but the quality is ALWAYS there.
This time I picked up some Super Silver Haze. I had been dreaming about this strain and I am not disappointed. Dense Nugs, sweey mellow smell, (hold on for the taste and buzz review).....2 hits later...WOW. Tastes smooth and fresh, I just had a sit back moment.
I also picked up some Jack Herer and Platinum Lights. Now I don't know Jack...:)))) But whomever grew this must have. The arms of the Bud reach out.. just to be snapped and consumed. Smoke me, smoke me they bellow...so I did. The subtle cheese aroma and the Norther Light structure. There is a Picture by Ghost Guy on MJ Reviews of his Jack Herer. The Bud I hold in my hand looks Identical...I sH!^ you not! Not harsh but eXPANDo. You'll have some wanna be coughs after exhale then one clears ya! Check out the Picture...says 1000 words. its not from the same but looks it..

Als being the father of a Cancer Patient who is 14, I don't want, nor does he want too, smoke his Meds. He is an Athelete and doesn't want to hurt his lungs.(Fine with me). They have a large variety of Edibles. Sure the Sweets are nice but I(we) don't want to get heavy using edibles...Platinum has BBQ Sauce(the Sauce is homemade from a local SD County Restaurant) and Salad dressing, Olive Oil...Hopefully he will have the Drink Mix soon(hint hint) ;).
They offer 3 or 4 potency levels of Cannabutter. The regular is just great! Its potent for cooking brownies and cookies and smooth eating for toast(you don't want to choke it down, what fun is that?) I tried the 4x Butter and I will say that its better used for receipes that require a Tbl spoon or two that you find from Chef Herb.
***I Forgot to give the reason why the 4x butter is better for regular meals. You get WAY TOO STONED.... if you wanted to function that is...Yes I actually typed that... If you want to really really relax for a few days make cookies or brownies...Dont say I didn't warn you.***

Try the Jack
Picked up a little sample of Jack Herer. I won't waste a lot of your time, it was very nice. The buds look great and are sticky. You should pick some of this up while it lasts, the really good stuff always disappears fast. Fortunately, it always gets replaced with something good.

I always like checking this place out because everything that's posted on the menu is always very accurate and they carry the best top shelf strains around SD all the time. I just love coming in and trying some new extremely potent strain and the prices are very true and easy on the wallet. This place is worth checking out at least once so you can get a feel on the great meds. Thanks again Doug!

Hindu Sage
This place takes care of its loyal members. Stopped in to see what was in stock and was asked to review the Hindu Sage. Ok...
Very nice aroma, somewhere between fruity and floral. Tastes that way too. Dense flowers that spring back when pressed. To its credit, it was too heavy an indica for me. My preference leans towards sativa and sativa dominant hybrids. I felt very heavy and sleepy. Recommend for insomnia.
Also picked up some Purple Kush Hash. A little dark, hints of purple. Very pliable after kneading it for a few seconds. Burned nice, would try again.
Doug said prices would drop when this place got more established and he has kept his word. Quality collective that takes care of its members. Worth a visit.NerdMike -
Great Atmosphere, Great People, Outstanding Meds.
The greatest thing about Platinum Rx is that Doug is always going the extra mile for his fellow members. He is always getting in new strains and is keeping up with the edible scene. I asked if he could find some of the kool-aid, next visit he had it.
Before I review the bud, I wanted to throw down some props for the clones too. The roots look like elephant trunks. I have some and transplanted them without shock. He takes care of his babies. Also....ATM. Platinum has an ATM availible now...Which is cool because I made the mistake of thinking they had one before. But Doug took care of me then.
Nerdmike seems to have beat me to the HinDu Sage review. But I need to throw in my 2 cents. I may have found my new favorite strain. Aquanut was right on with the heavy buzz but its working for me and getting stuff done. But then again, KOOL-AID! The Buds of the HinDu look like a Headband or Diesel with a Hindu Skunk shape...HFS the Hairs are a pink, fleshtone color. My thought when i took my first hit was like someone walking up a set of stairs in my head. I am still looking out of the loft.
I also picked up some Blue Dream and a G of Caramel Kush. I am gonna enjoy my HinDu Sage Rip and I'll edit for the Blue dream and CK.

Good, but not great.
Went in on a Thursday morning, new patient hoping to make use of their "Thursday-Happy Hour from 10am to 2pm All 1/8ths capped at $50, even top shelf." daily promo. I was still charged the full $60 for my 8th. Was given a 4 gram 8th as my new patient gift. I don't mean to be "that guy" but many places have 4 gram 8th as standard procedure.
I left feeling like I didn't really get a deal for it being Thursday morning and my first time. The place is a bit out of the way for me so it bothers me more than most I guess. The only redeeming factor is the Platinum Haze was bomb! Thinking I'll stroll in on a Wednesday for some hash, everyone deserves a 2nd chance.RVE -
Hash Review
They got some concentrates in recently that I wanted to let everyone know about. I like hash and maybe you do too.
Super Silver Haze Bubble Hash - The dark color of this hash had me a little worried at first but once I crumbled it up (and it crumbled very nicely, stuck to my fingers a bit)the color was much lighter. It burned very nice and had a good flavor. The effects were great and kicked in quickly. Very sativa. I have been keeping this one to myself but they say they can get more so go pick some up.
Blue Dream Bubble Hash - Blond in color, much lighter than the SSH. Burned nicely, didn't like the flavor as much as the SSH but it wasn't bad either. Took effect slower than the SSH but felt very nice once it did.NerdMike -
A Mixed Review
This place has a very comfortable feel to it as soon as you walk in, if your a member then getting back into the medicine room is very quick & easy but I was a new member so I had to fill out the paperwork but it was routine & they let only a certain amount of people in the medicine room at a time but its no problem waiting because they have a great assortment of candies to munch on while your waiting which my hungry friend took advantage of by munching on some Reeses cups while I was finishing up my paperwork.
When my friends & I walked back into the medicine room it was nice, above average for sure but its an ordinary medicine room but the Buds are what Stand out here. There was a great selection but I went in here after it was recommended by my buddy but I also checked the website before I went there & seen they actually had some very good prices for 1/2 oz's & I was looking to get a full Oz so this was my last stop after being severally disappointed by a place down the street so the fact that its open late is very convenient.
Anyways back to Platinum Rx, this is where the review gets a little mixed up because when I checked the website, I saw that they had 1/2 Oz's of Casey Jones for $120 which they still do today advertised on this site an I waited to write this review because I wanted to be sure. When I walked in I seen a full Jar of Casey Jones & ask the budtender if the Casey Jones was $120 a 1/2 like advertised an I swear she said Yeah but wasnt sure, so when I asked can you do an Oz for $240 she looked at a screen with the prices & I was surprised to see that the same Casey Jones was priced at $285 an Oz but she looked at the price and she said "Yeah I guess I can do that".
I felt it to be a misunderstanding but I was getting what I wanted (28.3) so I had no problem with that but when I asked her about new patients getting heavier 1/8's on their first time there an she laughed an told me she just hooked me up on that Oz & that made me feel like an asshole for even asking but I guess I used my First time patient gift on the Oz so I picked up a G of some dank Pure Kush but I wanted to split an 1/8 of Pure Kush & White Widow but I think its fucking lame to have low prices online & different prices when I go in there, I will be back most likely but if it was a problem with you updating weedmaps then I can understand but it is still priced at $120 an 1/2 so WTF Platinum Rx???BiNG -
Awesome place
Was brought here by a friend yesterday and everything was great with a verification that was quick and easy. all the strains looked really good along with the ones that were TOP shelf. The DJ short blueberry is absolute fire!!!! best blueberry i've had in a long time. i also got a free half gram of the carmel kush for being a first timer. it has a very earthy smell but is COVERED in fat yellow hairs, very dank as well. My friend bought the Hindu Sage which i got to sample later and i must say that stuff was some top notch bud too. i will definitely be coming back here to get more strains later on, also this place is only two doors down from where Anserdram Rx used to be, one of my old favorite dispensaries.

Most amazing medical clinic I have ever been to.
I live 30 sometimes 40 and even sometimes during rush hour and hour away from Platinum Rx but I must say It's worth the extra drive!I have had my card since November and I have been searching all over San Diego looking for a great clinic. This place is the only place I will ever go in my life in San Diego. Straight up most honest clinic I have ever been to. Bud quality is amazing along with all they have to offer you could spend an hour just talking and checking out all of their stock. The owner is so hardworking, sincere, and smart about his job. His employee's are also outstanding and I enjoy seeing their smiling faces when go in for medicine. i strongly suggest going in and checking them out!! TRULY A MUST SEE!!

2nd review
I went back to Platinum Rx for the 2nd time to get more of the DJ short blueberry but ended up walking out with there Sour D and Blackberry Kush as well. One thing i really like about this dispensaries' choice of medicine that it isn't all the rock hard chemical tasting bud you find at most places. Their flowers are the perfect balance of having that awesome earthy smell and still maintaining the sweet,sour and stinky scents of our favorite strains.
I also had a chance to meet the owner, and after talking for a little it is known that "dougie danks" is compassionately here for us. This is 100% a real co-op.Rabbi Kush -

Picked up some sativas, Ice Cap and Ultra Blue Romulan.
Well, it appears that the Ice Cap is no longer on the menu, not surprising since it was nearly gone when I picked mine up. I can assure you that it was a nice strain, good sativa qualities and a little case of the giggles. Check it out next time it is in stock.
Ultra Blue Romulan. Simply perfect, for me anyway. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I am biased towards sativa strains, they are what works for me. I would pick this one up again anytime it is in stock. Very nice.
Sorry for such a short review people, just wanted to put my stamp of approval on these two quality strains of sativa.

So far so good
I went out of my way to visit these guys cuz 1) they are open late 2) the place that opens late by my house in mission valley is not very personable and has obnoxious security. Picked up some Platinum Lights that did me well - not too heavy, just a nice, clean quality medication.
Staff very nice. Nice touch with the snacks in the lobby and offering drinks (non-medicated) when I walked in. You can tell the owner is trying to provide a quality experience for members. They gave me a discount and freebie even though my donation was small.
My only request would be for more sampler specials. I'm somewhat of a lightweight that only buys grams and likes to try different strains, so I like 2-for-$__ offers. I realize that's prolly not very financially sustainable for them, but those are just my needs and I realize most aren't lightweights like me.
I will definitely come back based on the quality of the experience and the staff and the late nite hours will definitely keep this place on my regular rotation. I might only stray elsewhere if I can find better sampler deals. Then again, maybe they do have promos like that that I don't know about and didn't ask.

I was referred by my friend to this place. We picked up on a Friday night around 11pm. Needless to say, it was PACKED. There were about five people ahead of us and three people behind us. One of the employess, I think it was the bossman Doug, recognized my friend and made sure my paperwork was being pushed through as efficiently as possible. We were asked if we wanted anything to drink or eat, as they had a variety of snacks for patients and guests alike. Very easy going in the lobby. Kush and Nug Mags were right next to the snacks.
We waited for about 15 minutes before we were let into the bud room. There are two big flatscreen tv's posted with the buds and their prices. Easy to follow. A majority of the buds were dank. They even have the low-end outdoor budget bud priced competitively, and it doesn't look all that bad, either (Humboldt Honey's). Don't forget that sometimes pricing may very well reflect the quality, but not for the Humboldt bud. BT was geniune and easy going. I didn't get her name, but all the same I'll definitely be coming back.
I picked up some Purple Kush. Very smooth smoke. Doesn't look like purp, but HITS like a purple kush should hit! Couch lock for sure. Buds are very, very dense, sticky, and hairy as all get-out. Not much of the Kush smell or smoke, but DEFINITELY that kush effect. Keep up the good work, Platinum Rx!furiousflip -

Well I was on my way to another dispensery, but I guess it was raided. So I figured I try calling platinum rx to see if by any chance they were open since I traveled all the way from the southbay area, I figured its late around 11sh pm I can't go home with nothing. So yup they was open. Was greated by some fine as hina, then was brought into the budroom where they have a nice selection of strains. I was about to pick up some pure kush, when some guy walks in and hands the bud tender a bag of some fresh O.G that was amazing, man was I in the right place at the right time. I just hope their is more of where that came from. Good job guys will comeback soon.

OG Melt is no joke!

OG Melt - True to it's name, melted nicely. Blond in color, very pliable. Three medium tokes and I was done. It costs a little more than the other concentrates but is worth the price for sure.

Platinum Rx, Making Things Right.
I wrote a review not too long ago an was kind of upset with my 1st experience here do to a miscommunication between the Budtender & I, what happen really wasnt that bad but I decided to write a review an move on with my life an not really dwelling on it too much after that.
I figured maybe the Budtender will see it an maybe feel bad (which she did) an maybe the next time I come in she would show some love (which she did) so I decided I wouldnt just write this place off my list cause they had some really good looking strains & im one picky Connoisseur, so I was about to go on weekend trip to Arizona for some fun in the sun & just had to get some dank Cali Meds for the trip so the night before im looking at places to go on weedmaps that arent too far from the 805 an there it was again, Platinum Rx.
There were other Dispensaries closer an more convenient but when I checked Platinum's menu I knew I was going there again for sure & to top it off I look at my last review & it had the collective response telling me to come in & get a free G of the DJ Short Blueberry & since I was going there for that anyways it was just perfect, so I took a friend of Mine along with me because he just got his card an I wanted him to see what REAL dispensary buds are all about so I referred him, the same budtender was there & she noticed me quickly before I gave her my ID.
Damn I write too much but all in all it was great, she split that Free G between DJ Short & the Blackberry upon my request an I thought that was awesome & me an my body split an 1/8 which was Pure Kush & White Widow...2 grams of each so we were more than looking forward to the long trip ahead of us, Thanks again Platinum Rx for showing some compassion & loyalty.

It was super late Saturday night and Platinum seemed to be the only place closest to my house that was open til midnight. I saw their reviews and menu on WMaps and decided to take the drive to Clairemont and see what it was all about.
It's right next to the 805 freeway, making it an easy access co op, with street parking right along the building. It's a quaint little place on the 2nd floor, and the only place with an brightly lit "OPEN" sign at 11pm, haha, so it wasn't hard to find at all.
Sign up was quick and easy, took only a couple of minutes. Rachel, the girl behind the window/BT offered me a soda right off the bat which took me by surprise... I'm not an OG patient of theirs, just 1st time so their friendly hospitality was definitely welcome :) The waiting room is sick as hell- they have a huge flat screen so you can watch tv while you're waiting to enter the bud room, or for non-medical visitors while their waiting. They also have a shizzz load of *normal sized!!* candy bars to munch on if you're hungry or waiting.. and of course I had to snag some reeses pieces (which I later added to my heath bar ice cream btw muahaha.. talk about the munchies!)
The bud room is small but mighty... they have a plethora of strains for you to choose from at all price ranges with great specials and discounts. I decided on the Blackberry Kush as soon as I saw it, and what struck me by surprise was the BT, Rachel didn't try and haggle me or push other strains on me to buy- she realized I had made up my mind and that was good enough for her. It's nice when they have a "if you're happy, we're happy" mentality with their patients... much appreicated.
The Blackberry was a beautiful, rich and crystallized bud with a smoooooooth smoke and great flavor.
I also got a G of their Platinum Kief which I still am using. Great additive to the bed-time bowl which make me pass out in about 5 minutes... that means it's doing its job!
They also carry really cute animal pipes if you're looking for something to spice up your session- A dragon, unicorn and a pot bellied pic that I really really wanted and would have purchased if I wasn't unemployed, haha. This is definitely the place to hit up if there's ANYTHING you need to medicate, whether it's buds, clones, hash, oil, tinctures, pipes, candy, cookies, etc.
And finally, I'd like to finish this review off with this little tidbit of info: being it was near midnight when I finally left the joint, the security guy (sorry I forgot your name!!) thought it was appropriate to walk me to my car.. which it was and I was thankful!! I'm a 20-something chick and as much as I'd like to think my mace and awesome UFC skills (haha yea right!) would ward off any creeper lurking in the distance, you never know... so that really stayed with me and I thought about it on the way home b/c as a co op it shows they are all about patient safety all the way around. First time going into Platinum today and I was very pleased. I got lost going into the building and the staff actually came out to look for me haha.. very friendly and they make you laugh. Great environment to be in and they have complimentary snacks in the front! I checked out some of the nug they had inside and after I thought I had made my decision, some fire was pulled from the back and I was sold right there. Prices are all good and worth while. Even the cheapest bud is danker then some of the stuff other dispensaries have. Ive been going to a lot of dispensaries lately and found 2 right next to each other. I went in to collectively speaking first down the street from PlatinumRx and had a wasted donation to receive a free 8th.. it looked like some nasty meck. If your into a headache thats the place to go. Cant wait to finish my meds and head right back for some more strains from Platinum and if your reading this definitely make the trip out and go!

Worth Checking Out
Tonight I took my 2nd trip to Platinum Rx because I was in need of some bud and since they are open late and are located just down the street from where I work I decided to stop by again. I remember my 1st time there being very pleasant and I was completely satisfied with their bud quality. Since right now I'm on a tight budget I got their Humbolt Honey for $32 an 1/8, well with taxes it came out to a little over $34. It's a bargain for that price. I was a bit in a rush when I went in today, didn't check out much of their buds that they had out. However, if their lowest priced bud is decent it's a sure bet that their mid and top shelf stuff is dank too. It's def. worth checking out, I'll be back to get some Blue Dream of Super Silver Haze. Only reason why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are other dispensaries in the area that have a decent selection of $35-45 1/8s that are just has dank.

The real deal.
Yesterday was my second time visiting Platinum Rx, having a very pleasant and welcoming first visit I was enticed to go back. I brought a friend along late in the afternoon, recognized the lady working immediately, and we were in the back in no time. The staff is a VERY friendly bunch and are very knowledgeable and have quite the humorous side, while keeping everything running smooth. We talked and crack jokes, amd the atmosphere is very friendly. They have a multitude of great strains on stock, all priced very fair. I decided on an 1/8 of Kryptonite, an 1/8 of Super Silver Haze, and got a free gram for bringing my friend in and got Platinum Lights. The Kryptonite is absolute fire, and gives a good 'stone' feel. Super Silver Haze was very dense and hairy and reaked! Dank to say the least. Platinum Lights, was a hybrid of Northern Lights x Trainwreck, burns smooth and is a creeper. I'll be back for sure, definitely soon. Platinum Rx is legitimate, and worth the trip. Keep up the good work.

Great meds, beautiful girls, great prices, cant go
I went to Platinum Rx in search for better meds, I was tired of the same old dry, commercial meds that many collectives carry. I love sticky meds and I finally found some at Platinum called Kryptonite. My fingers would end up glistening like crystal balls after breaking up some of my meds. The customer service is great, with a very kind, beautiful, and helpful bud tender. I highly recommend this collective to anyone who wants great customer service and great meds.

Legit and proud of it!
As mentioned below, Platinum RX has started charging tax on their meds. I don't see this as a bad thing at all, actually quite positive. Not only does it show they are legit in their business practices, but it also shows compassion b/c they lowered ALL their strain prices by $5-$10 to accomodate the tax. You end up paying pretty much the same as before: Ex, if you're strain cost $55 before, it now is $50 + tax and you end up paying around $54/$55 anyways. So what's the big deal?
Anyway, stopped in and took home some Humbolt Honey, a fire red head strain that smokes smooth and does its job, along with some Grape Ape which is a nice full strain with hints of purple and a great high.
...Still got my eye on that flying pig pipe, haha.
Oh and on a final note, I really appreciate the price ranges- and just because a strain may be priced at about $35/8th doesn't mean it's not fire. I've noticed Plat RX passes the savings to their customers b/c I paid $30 for that Humbolt Honey and $30 at any other club would get me shwag, not FIRE.

Kryptonite(Look out Superman)
For the past few months I'd been trying to get down from N. County to take a peak at Plat Rx. One night about a week and a half ago it got late and I needed quality meds. Perfect excuse to head to Plat Rx considering they have the most compassionate hours for their members. The lobby was clean and tighty, and I have to say, very comfortable. I was offered a soda or a water which was very cool. And was soon in the back discussing the first time patient discount with the BT who took the time to go over about everything in the entire shop with me. Thanks for that as well bro. After looking through plenty of quality strains, I knew exactly what I wanted, and it was the first strain I had asked about, just wanted to see the quality of everything else since my first pick was so good. It was all good quality, from the lowest range to the Top Shelf, it was all quality. I grabbed the Kryptonite, this strain done as well as this was, is too good for words. I'll just say it reminds me of the best Blackberry's, bright green with dark patches runnin through it and covered with trichs like nothing else. A serious indica only for the brave at heart. This will put you out if you're not ready for it. I love it, its exactly what I'm looking for on pretty much a daily basis. I paid a total of 48 and some change for one of the hands' down best batches of anything in SD at that present time. It was gone before I could get back to get more, but I will be back for more when it returns, and to try out some more of the Top Shelf these guys have every single day. love this place
Every time I walk into Platinum RX, I am drawn in by the comfortable atmosphere and made to feel at home with the great smells floating through the place - almost like walking into grandma's house. The few times I have had to wait in the lobby, I don't mind at all because of the comfy couches, big TV and provided goodies/refreshments.
This last trip, I was able to pick up the Herb Iron (the wand mentioned in an earlier review) along with a beautiful variety of flowers. All the flowers are great in their own right, although I've yet to try all of them. I did get to the Southwest OG with the Herb Iron and the glass on glass. The Iron takes about 10 seconds to get hot enough to work, and once it does, the experience is beautiful! Although there is a small learning curve in changing over to wand from dancing flame, the change is a welcome one. My lighters will last a lot long now since I shall only need them outside of the house. I can't wait to try the rest of these flowers.
I have been to this place quite a few times and I have not once questioned the trip - I always leave happy. Every batch of Bubba I have seen here is worth of your time, and there are always at least 5 other beautifully grown/dried/cured/manicured flowers available for ones selection. Feels Like Home!!!
Stopped in here last night around 9(love they don't close till 10!)and picked up some Blue 13 and a pre roll for $55!This Blue 13 is a top strain and i could see other co oops selling it for $60 or higher!I love their lobby is nice and clean and professional.The only thing that was not good was the pre roll.It didn't really hit so i had to break it up and put it in my pipe.Other then that this is hands down One of the top 3 shops in SD!!!Thank you guys!!!

My new home
I live out in the Lakeside where there are no shops, so I have been trying all kinds of different places all over town. I work in La Jolla so Platinum is right on my way home so I thought I would give it a shot. I was totally happy I did. Not only is the place really comfortable, and the staff way cool, but the strains I walked away with were top notch. I got the "super silver haze"(which was the first strain I tried after I got my card. Kinda close to my heart this one.) and the "cheese". Both were amazing and in great condition. No dry nugs here. I was looking through their edibles when I spotted an awesome sight, Chunk from "The Goonies" on a truffle shuffle chocolate brownie by Grams. Not only was this a great tasting brownie, but it had a perfect effect on me. Some edibles i don't feel and others put me right to sleep, but this one was a welcome change. All in all Platinum will be my new home, no need to go anywhere else and get overcharged or deal with people who don't care about you. Oh and when I went a second time they were out of the "haze" but the "headband" I got is working wonders. If only I could afford to go every day.

First of all, I would like to address that the staff from Platinum is great! Went in, the lady behind the front desk was very friendly, and even called me after I left because my friend forgot his original verification! Great service, was very stoked about that. After I got verified, Doug and another guy who I forgot his name helped me pick out some very dank nugs. I ended up picking the Afwreck and the ogxjack herer. The afwreck was my favorite of the two, but they were both incredibly frosty and tasty. (oh, and the blue 13 looked ridiculous too, im sure its a sweeeet hybrid.) Doug and the other guy who was there both answered all my questions I asked in a friendly and knowledgeable way. I would like to try some of the hash from here yet, as I am sure if the hash is made from the nugs i saw, it will be nice and heady. One last thing, they had an herb iron there that looks awesome. I was talking to the other guy behind the counter, and he said that they work excellent in getting the most out of your meds. I will be checking that out to purchase soon as it sounds like a great investment. Anyways, great lookin place, great nugs, great staff. What more do you need?

platinum experience
after breaking away from the usual place i go to, i decide to check out platinum. from the start to end this place is setting the bar for hospitality. i was greeted by racheal who was very sweet as she took care of me the entire time. while filling out the normal paperwork, she offer me an beverage which i took up. also in the waiting room there was some snacks and candy bars, perfect for those sweet tooth carvings i get. i was a little surprise and amazed that racheal would be the one also tending me because she was running the place all by herself. inside the budroom the shelves were stocked with all kinds of goodies. the first thing i notice was the clones which were healthy looking. i also find out she knew a lot about growing because i got a few useful tips. She was very knowledgeable as she explain everything from the hand blown pipes to the strains and hash that they carry. i took some time browsing the strains while racheal was giving me the details on what i was looking at. i ended splitting between the the crack herer and headband kush. the crack herer smell great, really nice cross between green crack and jack, also got me to want to write this review. the headband kush reminded me of good sour diesel with a mild kush aftertaste. while wrapping things up she applied the first time patient deal and also get me flyer which i could get a discount at the hydro store, which i plan on using later. the experience i had here and with racheal was awesome, alone she was was it take to take care of your needs. definitely worth coming back.

Quality buds that didn't weigh up!
I went to platinum as a new patient. Very clean professional environment. A friend (another new patient) and I each got an 1/8th split so we could try 4 different strains. The BT was confused (or stoned out of her mind) and gave me 4 1/8ths for $200. Honest mistake. I would have loved to take them but I didn't come with enough money. She corrected the order but weighed them all under, way under. One half 1/8 was weighed at .97 G instead of 1.75 G. The other 3 were around 1.6 G. As advertised, new patients get 4 G 1/8s or $45 1/8s. I didn't get either. I got shorted. With that being said, the Ultra Blue Romulan is a an outstanding strain that I would recommend to anyone. I will be back but watch the scale when she is weighing out.

Went in on friday night around 1030 as a new patient with my friend who is a current patient, got checked in real fast like and was even offered a drink or snack while i fill shtuff out. when i got back to the budroom i saw the jars all set out in a straight line on two counters for viewing pleasure. as a first time patient i decided to look at every jar cause im nosy like that haha but they were talking and joking with us the whole time so it was cool. i ended up going with an 1/8th of the blue 13 which is the smoothest hit youll take with a perfect creeper high that takes over and mellows you out, a gram of the crack herer which doesnt fuck around with the choke, a gram of super silver haze hash which smells like candy but hits like a champ, and a new patient free gram of lavender kush that sold me on weedmaps with the promise of a choke which did not fail. my only complaint about the whole trip is the price is confusing but definetely worth it and not overpriced. all in all quality herb that i will be back for.

Best Legal Weed Experience- Compassion at it's fin
This is the best dispensary in the San Diego Area. Everything from the waiting room to the top shelf edibles and the best buds in town. The Waiting room is really nice, this shop allows patient's family and friends wait while the patient is in the bud room. That was very neat and compassionate. Me and my friend went in around 10 o'clock. They were staying open while they updated some computer. I told the bud-tender about my clone i bought two weeks prior and he gave me some nutrient water and some advice for growing it. He was very knswledgable about his medicine and the industry. The woman gave us hugs which were warming and very welcome. We weren't expecting that kind of amazing treatment from these amazing people. I had brought a friend with me and was givin a 4 gram 1/8 for the refferal. My friend, Brian, is now a regular patient at platinum. As we were leaving, brian had asked to see the bigger nugs of the blue dream they had in stock. we checked them out and then the budtender dropped a nug in each of our hands. BIG NUGS!!! we basically walked out with a quarter of the best meds out there for under 50 bucks! Cant beat that at all! I have to say, platinum RX is my favorite med shop and im here to stay. Why are there other collectives?
Before I review each aspect of the Platinum Rx experience, I first have to share my own experience with them. I joined about a month ago after hearing great things about this collective, all of which are true. Sadly after my first visit I was hospitalized for around 3 weeks. While this was unfortunate for me, turns out while I was in the hospital the great people down at Platinum were making me a care package!! I had only been there once and already they had gone far and beyond any expectations of compassion. Once I returned from the hospital, the BT and owner were already looking into ways to make special edibles that I can tolerate (which is difficult, due to the nature of my disease). After being part of such a genuinely caring experience I can only wonder, why are there other collectives?
Review
Bud Quality: There are only good things to say about the quality of medicine at Platinum. Their top shelf strains like the Ultra Blue Romulan are so frosty and dank they'll blow your mind in a few hits, guaranteed. Since every place has at least a few great top strains, the real measure is in the quality of the lesser strains (if they can be called that). I bought some of the Kona Gold that was on special/sale and it was shockingly smooth, hard hitting, and quick to work. All of their flowers are seriously potent.
Atmosphere: A relaxing vibe hits you as you walk in the door and there is a large waiting room complete with a couch, drinks, and snacks for you to enjoy while you wait to be checked in. Anyone who is not a member can wait in this comfortable lounge-like setting while you pick up your medicine. Past the lobby and into the back, the area maintains a feeling of professional yet easy going browsing. There is no rush while you pick out your medication, and the knowledgeable BT and staff can answer any question you have about picking the right one. Safe, Easy, and Friendly.
Staff: The staff here are extremely friendly and caring. If you have questions, they have the answers. It goes beyond the standard of care though as they will help work around any restrictions that you have, be that an inability to smoke, edible restrictions, or a high tolerance. They are sincerely passionate about the health and well being of their patients.
Convenience: Very easy to find with a sign right out side the building. They have ample parking literally right outside of the shop. Go up to the second floor and you're there. Couldn't be easier to find, but discreet enough to not be sketchy!
Price: The great thing about the prices is the range. If your looking for the top of the line medicine, they have it, and you don't have to sell a kidney to get it! If your on a budget they have you covered there too with specials and cheaper strains. Having good prices and a wide range puts them leagues above any competition.
The people at Platinum Rx are truly concerned about safely bringing the best quality medicine to patients at a good price. It is an amazing experience to be treated like a person instead of a wallet, and I know that you guys will continue to prosper and grow.

I went to Platinum Rx with my brother in law on Friday night around 8:40pm and we were in a rush & needed some pre-rolls before we made the trip to O.B. an we came just in time because there wasn't a wait or anything because it was just us in there so we were returning patients so we get back there quickly an I asked if they offered anything for referrals, cause I referred my Bro & another buddy of mine the same day but at different times & at the time the budtender said they didn't offer anything YET but I would be +2 when they do figure it out so I just waited.
Well when I told her that she told me about a referral card an she said she didn't have any yet but she ordered them & I was ind of bummed but whatever I wasn't too bummed since we were about to get pre-rolls & then out of nowhere she told me to pick a free gram of anything I wanted for the referrals & I was happy & already knew I wanted the Super Silver Haze but I just checked all the Jars just to make sure & the budtender showed me a strain of Mighty Joe Young, Grape Ape x Big Bud, get it?
Ha anyways the bud were nice fat buds covered in orange hairs & had some purple on it & smelled sweet, she also told me she grew it & I felt really bad to tell her I wanted the super silver haze but she was totally cool about it she hooked it up 1.6 of some completely authentic Super Silver Haze, it has the look of SSH an is super super dense & the smell is exactly what SSH should smell like everytime because buds like SSH have distinct looks & smells when grown right & this is a great batch of SSH & the Mghty Joe Young was definitely my 2nd choice since the kush was lacking & all the Southwest OG was gone. I've tried alot of collectives around S.D. and this has to be the best one. Staff are so nice. Always answers my stupid questions. This is a true pateint collective. I suffer with chronic pain from a spinal cord injury for 20 years. The Red Hair Skunk is great for night time nerve pain. Very mellow! Almost makes me forget about my pain. Great Experiences Here
I live far from this side of town, so when I have the opportunity to go to Platinum, I always take that chance and I'm always glad I do. The staff are very nice, the set up is like no other, come on now, the tv screens that show the prices and descriptions of all the weed, you can pick up candy (sweet) or chips (salty) on your way out for the nice joint or bowl you are about to blow, and the female budtender, Rachel is a real crack up, everyone loves her, even my dad. They keep it real about what you are about to smoke and can recommend what buds you should try. They have a big selection of indicas, sativas and EDIBLES, which I was not fond of until I came here. They always make my trip there worthwhile. You can tell they are in the business for the patients and I can appreciate that.

I made my first visit to platinum Rx a few days ago. Overall, i left happy but i was a bit frustrated with the menu showing the prices untaxed. Even though they explained it to me, i was still thinking i was going to pay what the weedmap menu said. However, it was my first time in there and they hooked an 8th on top of my 8th that i purchased. for 59.83 i walked with 7+ grams. They had some purple kush that i wanted to get but had to go with the harijuana. Its been a great smoke! the free 8th is perfect flavored blunt material, thanks Platinum, ill be looking for some more of that purple kush next time in.

Pretty good
I went here yesterday for the free 8th with $50 donation. I got the Blackberry Kush for $55, it was really $60 because of tax, though. I was told that I was the last one to get the sale. The budtender gave me the Mighty Shiva as the free 8th. It's an ok looking strain with a kind of weird coffee like smell. It's not sticky at all and is very dry. The Blackberry Kush is beautiful though!!! Tastes awesome and is pretty potent. A little on the expensive side but I did get the free 8th which I think I'll cook or make qwiso with. It was a little weird because the budtender didn't give me my change but that's ok. The place is very pretty inside but I think they could spend their money on better quality bottom shelf buds than a flat screen TV. I like that they let you see the numbers on the scale as they weigh the bud because the guy gave me 4gs of the Blackberry Kush and about 3.65 of the Mighty Shiva! Overall, the place has good buds, but they should show their prices as tax included on the menu.

Goo Berry (and others) @ $45
Although I had been hitting some collectives near my home, I found myself really needing to make a trip up to Platinum. I noticed that there were several strains listed as low as $45 and they were all very nice looking/smelling. I was very happy to see this as money has been tight as I am sure it has been for many of us. I finally settled on the Goo Berry.
Very dense, dark colored buds. Very sticky with many trichomes. I couldn't decide on the flavor though, tastes herby/earthy, in a good way (results may vary). Nice sativa high, hits you in the head right away. Uplifting, I am in a very good mood right now. Very happy to see that prices have come down even further as time has passed.
There seems to be some disappointment and/or confusion on the sales tax. Every collective or dispensary pays, or should be paying, sales tax to the state. Some places absorb this into the cost or level of donation, but your meds cost more on average at these places. You are paying the sales tax, but it is already included in the price, like Starbucks. With places that tack it on at the end, prices are generally lower and it all comes out about the same in the end. Maybe there should be a sign or something so there is less confusion.
In defense of Platinum, the prices have come down a lot since they opened, and the quality has always been present. I still pay less than I used to when they first opened, even with tax added on.NerdMike -
Great Place with friendly people
Great Place with friendly people. I have been there twice and have not been disappointed. When I went in there tonight I picked up some Cheese Haze, Blue Thunderfuck and some Purple Kush Hash. I asked for an 1/8 of the Cheese Haze and got a 1/4 for an 1/8 price. I don't live near Platinum Rx, but friends do and I will always make a point to stop back in when I'm in the area.

Great Clinic
I went here for my first time on Monday (Aug 23rd). I called for directions and the owner "At least I think he was" was kind enough to walk me through them since I was already in my car. When I arrived I was please to be seated in a nice lobby with a large flat screen and Very comfortable couches. While I was filling out my new patient info I was kindly offered a bottle of water or cold soda " Now thats a first". After quickly being verified I was invited into the back room to be helped. Their was a large variety of strains and pricing but I really like the way it was set up. Sativas on the left, hybrids in the middle, and Indicas on the right, versus mixing them by pricing since all of the prices were on the Board anyways. They also set donations that dont make you break out another bill to cover taxes witch is very convenient. After inspecting some of their buds I picked a gram of Jack Herer "My Sativa" witch has a very very strong indescribable stivay sent too it & covered in crystals. It was weighed out in front of me "witch is another huge plus, we dont like pre weighed meds" and it came out to 1.3. The second gram I got was my indica "G-13" It has a unique sweet scent and covered in thc crystals as well. Weighed out at 1.3 as well. He then offered me a free joint and we parted ways. Great clinic. Highly Recommended. The Budtender/Owner is very knowledgeable of his meds and their is a price to accommodate any budget with quality product. This is my 3rd year as a patient and I have to say it's one of my favorite clinics.

FREE WEED USUALLY MEANS CRAP WEED
I'm a smoker and have been for years so I like trying new shops to see what they have and offer for first time patients. I know some shops are having a hard time with realizing that it's not street prices anymore. But the thing is it is an open market out there. New shops are popping up everyday. And the ones that have the good deals, low prices and awesome smoke are going to be the ones that get the business. Atleast mine. So when I heard that Platinum Rx was giving away free 8ths I was a bit weary but they seemed to have good strains, so I went there with my brother, he's the one who also gave a not so good of a review and you challenge d the fact if he was there or not, and we got are smoke on. The place was very easy to park at, clean, very friendly and we chatted with the budtender and her husband, the owners, for awhile. So that was all cool. It's just I agree with my brother. There's places in North Park that do have there outdoor and greenhouse weed at $10 a gram. Plus they have $50 caps on their 8ths. Also, they usually would give you a free gram OF CHOICE! That's what I would prefer so I could try more of the shops top shelf stuff, which is what I smoke and buy, then to try their bottom shelf which I never smoke or buy. I mean with all these shops everywhere, why would a serious smoker smoke anything but top shelf weed for their medical condition? So my weed review is the gram of California Dreamin' was ok but not the bomb for $20 a gram, $60 an 8th! The Might Shiva was mighty crap, to be honest. The owners said they were smokers so I sure they know themselves. I threw it away because I am a weed connoisseur so I won't smoke that or give it to my friends. I do agree with everything my brother said. It would be a good shop if they lowered their prices and got slightly better weed.

Awesome Clinic
I visited Platinum RX for the second time on Monday (Aug 30th) It was great because I wasn't sure if they were gonna be open at 9:00 on a weekday but luckily they were. I parked in front and when I entered I was quickly verified. I went in the back room and started talking to the owner about the different types of Hash and their strengths. All of the hashes looked and smelled Amazing but the "Kuwatis Magic" took home the gold. I asked for a gram of the Kuwatis Magic hash. As the hash was being weighed I watched him put in 1.5 grams!!! and then told me if I ever feel unsatisfied with a product to bring it back in and he would always take care of it. I came home and broke a small piece off and placed it in my Oil Dome to test. It was very smooth, throat friendly, and tasted delicious. Once again Im very very Happy with my decision to come to Platinum RX. Thanx

VERY nice place
Went to Platinum for the 1st time about 2 weeks ago and really liked it! Verification was fast and easy. I was helped right away even though I would not have minded waiting in that lobby! Very, very nice atmosphere. Everything is very high-tech from the lobby to the bud room. The bud was good....dont even remember what I got the 1st time cause I was so gone! Got a free pre-roll which was nice since I only bought a g. I went back a 2nd time last week and got some really good Thunderfuck. I live downtown so Platinum is pretty far for me, but if I like a place I become a loyal customer and will keep coming back! I also love that they offer prices that are good if you're super broke or super rich! Will def. be checking out some edibles next time I stop by

I've been to a grip of other collectives around SD, but since going to Platinum Rx I don't really go anywhere else, because there's no point! This place has it all, great parking, prices, lobby, but most of all the PEOPLE are AWESOME! Super friendly & helpful! I feel like I'm hanging with friends when I go in there. Plus I love that their lobby is opened to the public, so you don't have a bunch of people chillin in their cars like other places. I don't want to feel like I'm doing something wrong or that I might get jumped when leaving a place, I wanna feel safe & at Platinum Rx I do! I've even been asked if I would like someone to walk me to my car when I've gone in late :) Once again another bonus.. Their opened until midnight Friday & Saturday, have great specials all the time & the buds are "bombsauce" as I like to say :)

GREAT Meds
Loved Platinum. clearly the best dispensary in san diego. Bud quality... i was donated the 'Blue Thunderfuck', which after one hit was clearly worth the money. Their lower priced buds are just as good with a really good ride. Atmosphere was great with two very comfortable couches located in the lobby along with munchies and tv if the wait is long. If i were not a patient, i wouldn't mind kicking it in the lobby. They are the quintesential dispensary with cute and very knowledgeable staff along with the owner who could tell me things about medicine i never knew of.

believe the hype
went here for the first time yesterday and i must say i was very impressed. the quality of the bud is top notch and the girls are sooo friendly and helpful. i went in for some jack herer but also left with some diesel kush based off their recommendation (thank you!) and a weese's brownie made with a gram of bubba kush. i ate half the brownie and when i woke up, i was still medicated - great stuff! this place will be hard to beat with 1/8ths capped at $50 all day sundays and during happy hour on thursdays.
update: did not realize that the happy hour specials do not apply for the top top strains. too bad b/c i was curious to try the venom og but the price seems a little high at $65/eighth (plus they tax). ended up leaving with some blue thunderfuck which was a little dry in my honest opinion. also, they were out of the gram's brownies last time i went in. bummermary.jane -

This place is awesome. I went for the first time the other day and when you walk in there are snacks in the waiting room and as i was filling out my information they offered me water or soda. That's never happened at any place i have been to.
The staff there are awesome. This dude really knows his bud, not one of those dorks who only know how much they need to weigh out. And besides how knowledgable they are with their plants, they are extremely friendly.
They have a very nice selection as well. Nice nugs of weed, they dont break up their nugs, which personally i hate having to crush up/break up a nice nug, so that's a plus. They also have a whole menu of drinks (at least 10 different flavours), like dr. pepper flavor (professor kush - my favorite) and nice hash selection, edibles, organic vegan thc capsules and more. LOTS more. even better, they were nice enough to let me know that if i do not like something or if something doesnt work as well as i thought it would (ex. a very unpotent edible that should have knocked me out) that i could bring it back and get my money back.
the guy also allowed me to pick out my own nugs. LEGIT

Platinum is open late an i'm glad since I was hugely disappointed at a place right down the street. I took my Bro into Platinum but we have been to Platinum a couple times before so we know what to expect an we get it everytime. I feel like an appreciated customer when I come to Platinum an that is nice.
Platinum has been 1 of only a couple places that gets me coming back for more an have showed compassion time & time again by different members of their staff an its not like they know me as BiNG, a top 50 reviewer or anything or even by my name but I always get treated right which is nice for a change.
It was getting crowded in the budroom because they were letting all the regulars in which came right after my Bro & I. There were 2 dudes who were taking forever so a couple of us all crowded the plush waiting room an I even turned the TV on while I was waiting. The 2 dudes leave an they let my bro & I in the budroom an just let in some others as well since more people were piling in the waiting room.
It looked like a garage sale up in there with all these people but it was totally a chill time an I struck up a convo with the budtender who was chill an just felt way more comfortable here, I even started talking to 1 of their regulars which was a younger Asian dude that claimed he was at Platinum Everyday getting meds so I had to hear his opinions an his accent was so funny but i'm not dissing him and would love to burn blunts with this guy because he had me laughing the whole time at some of the stuff he was saying.
The Budtender knew whats up an I was looking all around until I picked up this jar of the Blue ThunderFuck an opened it up an smelt a little slice of heaven, the look was really to notch as well an just blinged for me an the budtender saw that twinkle in my eye an offered me a try of some ThunderFuck...???
I have never had the privilege to sample some meds while I was shopping, I heard of it but never tried it an always wanted too. Since they were selling some cheaper strains that day they had a little BiNGer in their for letting skeptics try the cheaper strains before they buy it an that is JUST AWESOME!!!
No other place would even care an would justify it by its cheap an you get what you pay for but Platinum says F-that noise an just offers a great deal an backs it up or should I say "packs" it up by letting you test it out before, so your not mad at your house for falling for the shwag which happens alot.

Well thats exactly what the budtender did an I never met the dude an he packed me a fat bowl which I think he thought I might pass to my Brother in Law but I will admit humbly that I can rip the shit out of a BiNG an snapped the whole bowl which was probably like .3 or .4 but he said he would pack 1 for each of us an he did just that an offered my Bro another bowl before he got the Thunderfuck but My Bro probably figured he wasn't going to pack him the ThunderFuck after so he asked for the Thunderfuck an that made me laugh, he didn't want to miss out the dank which I don't blame him but the budtender was chill an probably would have let him try both but my bro gets too excited.
Platinum Rx is the place to be an if that BiNGer is a regular in there than you can definitely believe that I will be as well an I am always happy when I leave Platinum but this time was a little more special an I won't forget it an you will hear my name alot from the referrals i'll be sending your way, thanks again.

When i came to Platinum Rx a couple weeks ago I was inspired by the buy an 1/8 get an 1/8 new patient special they had at the time. The deal was over but i called and they lady said they would still do it for me.... I spent plenty of time looking at all their strains and eventually settled on $55 split 1/8 of afghani and blackberry... This IS the way kush is supposed to be grown. The smell of the Afghani was the strongest most perfect smelling thing in the world. Taste and potency were the same... They didnt have any 65$ stuff when i went there but i see they do now and am surprised. I guess i have to come in again to see for myself, but i didnt know weed got better than the afghani i saw when i went. The blackberry was uber dank as well but i just liked the afghani more(cuz it was stronger)... This place does charge tax so the 55 is really 60 but its def worth it.... when i actually weighed out my meds i saw that she gave me 4.4 of Mighty Joe Young(best freebie 1/8 ever, good quuality) and 4.1 of my eighth... best club experience ever i felt like i won the lotto!

What you'd expect from a place called PLATINUM
I have been visiting Platinum for about a month now and I could not be more satisfied. I have read the reviews on this site for Platinum and have seen the overall compassion first hand as well. They just seem to be in it for the patients. They actually price the meds based on THEIR COST, not what they CAN SELL it at. They also never let you down when it comes to weight. Every time I have ever been to Platinum I have received a gracious few points over the listed "gram or eighth".
With that little spill out of the way I can discuss my latest visit, tonight. First of all I was out late on a business call and I needed some meds to take home, but it was approaching 10pm on a weekday. I knew platinum had good hours so I rushed over and was greeted, not with closing doors, but with a normal "open" business. I entered and was quickly checked in and was granted access to the budroom.
First thing I noticed was some VERY healthy clones of LA Confidential. Roots POPPING out the top of the cubes and big green leaves. You can even see the clones have started to sprout new shoots. These things are ready to explode! Next I noticed some nice new Sativas and Hybrids in the 50 - 55 category, which is my price range. The Lemon Haze, Herijuana, Blue Dream, Jack Herer, Diesel Kush, and Trainwreck all looked TOP notch. I got a gram of the Blue Dream which has a nice body buzz and a great head effect. More powerful than I would have thought for sure. Also, the flavor was just amazing. I usually don't like berry strains like Blue Dream, but this was a tasty batch.
They also had a three high end strains that carried a 25 gram price tag: Hello Kitty, Private Reserve OG, and Venom OG; overall I thought the Hello Kitty was the real winner with a very nice smell that I can tell is still curing into perfection. A truly nice strain. I would still like to see that strain in the 55 - 60 range since I just cannot afford to drop 70 on an eighth so I will have to do without. But I also understand that growers want more for exotic strains and sometimes the lower end strains are just as effective. As far as the Private Reserve OG and the Venom OG... both very nice but I agree with the directors comments in the review one or two below me. Alot of it is hype based on the Venom OG being featured in Kush magazine and the "Private Reserve OG" name, not so much on their truly incredible potency.
Now about the price, I pretty much said it all in the first paragraph. They offer it to you at whatever is affordable for their costs, no more. You can tell when you look at their jars. Some of the lower priced buds are just as good as the upper buds and when you ask they simply explain that it cost less so members get it for less. If only everyone looked at it that way.
The staff is just fantastic, a joy to deal with and down to earth. I have never seen them disrespect a member in any way, and sometimes it seems that it "might" be justified ;) but they just grin and bare it.
The parking is a small area, but I have never had an issue with finding a spot right in front of the place. Literally, never not found a spot.
So that is that. I feel like I have been extremely lucky in the last few months. I have been graced with compassionate collectives, Platinum being a place I will visit again and again as long as they will have me. Thank you Platinum.

Wake-N-Baked
Last night (9/15/10) I decided to make a stop at Platinum Rx since I was in the neighborhood and it had come HIGHLY recommended to me from a bud of mine. It was kinda hard to find since it was already dark out and the address wasn't well lit. Parking was on the street - luckily I snagged a spot right up front. Stopped in around 7:30 and was given excellent prompt service with a quick check in. The lady working was not only really friendly but also very knowledgeable about all the strains. Since it was my first time in I decided to check out every jar and was even allowed to see multiple kinds under the 400x digi microscope. I picked up some Diesel Kush & Platinum Private Reserve OG along with some Purple Kush Hash to top it all off... I tried a little of everything this morning so I could get a good judge of the strains and I was thoroughly impressed.... The prices of the top shelf here at Platinum reflect the name so expect to donate 65 for an 1/8 (plus tax) - but is it worth it - HELL YES!!!!!!!!!!

i love it here!
i mostly go to platinum rx and every time i go there, i'm satisfied. the location is great and very secretive which i like. the environment is nice. when you go inside, the waiting room makes you feel right at home with snacks, comfy couches, and even a tv. i've met most of the staff (i'm pretty sure) and they are super super chill and welcoming. they truly interact with their customers and i think thats really important. the bud is great. i have never complained once and ive tried a lot of different types.. their edibles are pretty damn good too. i tried the weese's (think that's what they were called) and it was pretty amazing. their prices are good and they have AMAZING deals on 1/8. if you give them your number, they'll send updates and new deals which really helps a lot. i have nothing but good reviews for this place and also they close late on the weekends which rocks. i highly recommend coming here you won't be disappointed!!

Lemon Skunk, Lemon Haze, Kuwati Hash -- Yum!
This will be my last review for Platinum Rx. Just made my last visit as a member tonight as I am moving out of state. Picked up supplies for the trip to my new home.
Lemon Haze - Very nice. Fluffy and sticky, the smell is beautiful. I was surprised at how hard it hit me the first time I smoked it. Recommend for vaporizer as the taste is sweet. This is a top shelf strain priced at mid level prices. Pick some up while it lasts.
Lemon Skunk - Great smell and taste, just like the Lemon Haze. Priced a little bit higher than the Haze but also a bit better. Another great strain.
Kuwati Hash - This is hash like your grandmother used to make. Hand rubbed and oh so potent. My wife (also a member and patient) nearly passed out from a couple hits. Priced a little higher than their other concentrates but is still lower than what some places charge for bubble hash. If they happen to be out ask if they have Kryptonite. I saw this as I was leaving, another hand rubbed hash that looked delicious.
This place is what a dispensary is all about. True compassion for members. Don't listen to the haters and freebie hunters that Platinum Rx refuses to cater to. They treat their members like they matterNerdMike -

Platinum Rx just changed the way i think things should be run and the way patients should be treated. I have done my tour of different spots and i have met some good, some bad, and some ugly. Along the way i have left reviews on ones i felt left some kind of impression on me. i pride myself on not really bashing or kissing ass either but being totally fair and unbiased by the reviews left by others. This review is by far my favorite to write.
my wife and i went out on a mission today to pick up our meds and we decided to try some place new. i spent a few minutes on weedmaps looking for something to catch my eye. and something did haha. i think god himself might have intervened because i found quite possibly my favorite place of all time. as soon as we popped in he offered my wife and i some beverages and there were snacks laid out. right off the bat i loved it. I cant remember the Budtenders name but he was amazing. showed me everything and more and helped us walk out of there with an awesome selection of some premium meds.
i took home some delicious Berry OG. he let me sample it before i had made up my mind (now everyone should take a page out of platinum rx's book on that one) and it totally sold me on it. it was sweet and really smooth and had this almost peanut butter and jellyish taste to it making it officially one of my favorite buds of all time.
my wife got some deliciously stinky lemon haze that completely took the both of us by surprise. she also grabbed a gram of the jack herer which smells amazing and we have yet to try but you better believe she will mention it in her review when we do!!!

Never More Impressed with Selection
Dude....this place was really hard to find. But even while we were looking for it some friendly other member helped us out so much. Platinum Rx is so classy & clean on the inside, they have T.V.s so you can read the menu clearly & play good music. The owner is the coolest guy, he used his girl's piece to let my hub sample a bowl- & it wasn't just a snapper, it was a real bowl. He tells us right off the bat that his stuff may be a little bit pricier than we are used to (honestly, it was a couple bucks more AT BEST), but that's because of the quality. PLATINUM RX HAS THE BEST WEED IN SD. I'm a sativa gal, so I'm looking at the Blue Dream, the Super Silver Haze, & the Jack Herer thinking, "I've tried those all before & I was definitely NOT impressed." But the skeptic in me was quickly silenced when I smelled them & looked at them; it was totally obvious that these strains had good reputations for a reason, & those reputations were being tarnished by half-assed growers. I ended up actually buying Jack Herer, which I'd always talked badly about before. I was also very intrigued by his Lemon Kush- it literally smells & tastes like lemons! The indicas & hybrids were all so impressive, too; my hub got Berry Kush, which is a hybrid, but I'm sensitive to sleepy weeds & this stuff is so strong it knocks me out! I'm in love with this guy's excellent decisions- he really knows how to pick the best for his clients: they CARE.

Diamonds Are Forever
In the last 3 years as a patient under Prop 215. Ive visited countless dispensary's. Platinum RX is one of the few that make you feel comfortable, secure, and cared for. I decided to change and edit my review for platinum. They really changed my view of the shop. TOnight I was offered a bong hit and I really appreciated it. I tried out the platinum kush, which i coughed up and was really strong. the only downfall is that it is outdoor, and preferably, i like indoors. well, i ended up getting their tahoe og and the guy who worked there seemed really knowledgeable and friendly. the young lady is also such a sweetheart and i enjoy getting their dank buds. i like the new 18/20 gram pricing and i really enjoy its quality over quantity! highly recommended!

first i want to say, AKA? is a fake bs account made by some f%&king hater collective. he/she has no other reviews and was just made today. you gotta try a little harder than that! ha. secondly i wanna say ive tried the blue thunderfuck and their P91 are PERFECT in almost everyway. swear to god i can feel the love in the smoke! hahaha. also got some dutch lights which BLEW ME AWAY! such a clean hit and it didnt leave me all dazed. absolutly great strain to wake and bake to. and their platinum kush was so a mellow and relaxing it helped me slip right to sleep and had me sleeping like a baby. all i can say is this place keeps getting better and better and is always worth the price. and to all of you who complain about the price and how its a little "pricey" for some of you: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Had heard a lot of good things about this place and had been meaning to visit for a while. Finally got over there yesterday. It was kinda out of my way seems to be out of the way period like its out there on the edge of the town kinda weird to find but no big deal just hadnt been to that area of SD next time will be no problem. First off this place has the sickest waiting room of any collective ive been too very chill vibe from the flat screens to the couches to the free stuff candy chips n stuff I really didnt mess with but I noticed it and thought it was cool. Budtender was cool and informative a slightly exaggerated on the potency of the edible i got which was bomb but didnt take me out the way it had been suggested it might. I probably just got a high tolerance tho I smoke a lot of really good hash, it was bomb tho I would buy another the choc macaroon by the way. okay on tho the quality of the nugs, and this is soley based on what I know and how I smoke and well I gave it three out of five stars that being said I gotta say based on the quality the prices are way too high the 65 capped two o.g. strains were good but nothing to my spot where the 8 cap on all amazing out of this world top shelf is 55 but I wont mention any names dont wanna hate on this place just be honest and give a good idea of what to expect. there are some great deals on nug though like the jack herer very worth it as well as others I was showed so might go back and grab an O. okay on to the concentrate which is a big reason why I went there were some nice different batches that all looked good but lacked something for what they were priced I would expect some butane extracted wax or goo or some co2 extracted og caviar or gold dust as it could get that fine in consistency it looks like gold dust anyway all looked good but overpriced in my opinion. I got the edible and b.t. hooked it up with a sample of the alan something hash sorry forgot the rest of the name but the alan should be enough okay this was a nice hash and is as good as the stuff I pay 25 a g for so probably wont be getting any, its really good though. Okay overall I liked this place and will definitely be back just not as often as I do my regular spot maybe once a month or something. Thanks to the folks over at Platinum PX. Hope this is helpful.

Fine variety in edibles ranging from barbeque sauce, lollipops, microwave popcorn, redeye bars, weed soda, anything a curious heart could want. I have been going to Platinum Rx for about a month now and they kick ass! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. My first visit I picked up some of their Top Shelf 20g buds Blue Thunderfuck and Jack Skellington. AMAZING! When they say "Top Shelf" they mean "Top Shelf" and nothing else. They also have some very good lower priced buds. I picked up a half o of the Platinum 187 which goes for 14/g and it was fire. If you live in San Diego you need to check this place out!

I used to go to this place when it first opened, but ever since it started making money it has raised its prices and stopped focusing on patients. The owner claims to be in the business for the right reasons but consistently rips his customers ( not patients off). DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. There meds are way over priced and the budtenders have no knowledge whatsoever. Charging 75 dollars for an eight is a crime! Im glad you guys are making money now, but I will not be coming back to this place until you start appreciating your patients.

This place is the best!
This has become the only place I go to get my meds. Everything about the experience at Platinum is top-drawer.
Where to start? The physical place is very nice and low key. There are comfortable couches in the waiting room, although I never have had to wait more than a couple of minutes. They offer free chips, candy, water, and soda. They even gave my friend a root beer while he waited for me to get my meds. Prices are displayed on nice TV screens and the bud is right there for you to look at.
The people who work there definitely know their stuff. They always have a great selection of both saltivas and indicas at a variety of price points. Maybe once or twice I have seen $65, but they generally cap at $60. And that $65 shit is some bomb ass shit. I'm not sure what that guy was on who said $75 eighths.
And how can I not forget the ounce specials? I am on their text list and I get daily updates of their ounce specials and new strains in. It is a great deal and I can't see going anywhere else. It seems like I'm in there once a week. Other collectives in the area seem to be going after them, I think out of jealousy. Today I picked up some of the Dutch Lights, which is exquisite, and I was lucky enough to be the first patient there after they received a bunch of Purple Kush, which is a great value.
I recommend this place to everyone I know. Don't think twice or listen to the haters.kenetyw -

I have brain cancer and the staff at platinum has done everything in their power ti make my remaining time comfortable. They have goe out of their way to deliver meds to my door in the middle of the night when I couldn't stop vomiting. Compassion? You have never seen it more then here. My life would be very different with these guys. As you can imagine; I medicate quite often and they refuse to take my money. They tell me they want to see me better...thats it. I am not really sure what these guys are trying to do but too many people love platinum for you guys to ever affect them. Oh and just a little clarification on the strains. P91 they have has nl in it which is why it's sativa. Also it was outdoor p91... I'm not sure you guys know ur strains. Lastly, you guys don't know whatur talking about cause the city collects sales tax on mmj. Just another example of how uninformed you are. You should be careful too, you are really pushing it. You can't say the things ur saying without possible repurcussions.i.e. Policem cease and desist, stuff like that. You should quit while ur a head. Platinum's prices are low, meds are the best in sd, and the staff is awewome. Don't believe the haters...theyre just mad cause they can't blackmail platinum into giving them free stuff. I am a long time SD smoker that only smokes top quality. I got some Diamond OG, Fire OG, and Mr Nice Wreck and it was all amazing. People are great and prices are awesome. Been to a few other shops in the area and they just dont compare. This shop has brought MMJ to a new level....and I am a customer for life. The people know their strains and I feel like I am at home when I am there. I heard they will be having a haunted house for halloween weekend and I will def be checking that out.

Everytime I go in, like everyone else has said, I feel @ home :) The "lobby" is super comfy.. snacks, drinks, big screen tv & leather couchs! && you always hear laughing in the back, sounds like everyone is having a good time (which they are), which makes you want to get back there, Not just for the bomb meds but for the people :) The staff is what really makes this place! Platinum has the bud of the month, EVERY month.
Yesterday, I had my casual visit to my favorite dispo in all of San Diego. Strolled in around for 11 AM for happy hour, and to no surprise was welcomed with warm hospitality. Platinum has always had the dankest strains at their disposal so I knew I was in for a good treat for the upcoming Halloween weekend.
The first strain was Blackberry Kush. Now I've had Blackberry Kush and this by far is the dankest of that strain I've had. It's got the purple in the background, while being covered in an immensely thick frost of trichomes. The smell is extremely pungent and fills the room with a wonderful scent. Truly a one hitter.
The second I decided on was the 'Bud of the Month' Skywalker OG. If your looking for a good strain this is it. It has everything from a great aroma, exhilarating high and a good stone feel, couch lock to the max. You can bet it's covered in ice too. Platinum, thank you for continually exceeding expectations and setting the bar.

Today I decided to check out platinum especially since they had a Halloween scene today, I got some Blunt Guts and a Hubby Bar...
I have to tell you those Hubby Bars.. That edible was the the best edible I have EVER had,every time I get the chance I'm gonna buy more than one of those Hubby Bars. Because I know those are only found at Platinum and that's why they are always my first pick. The Hubby Bar makes me feel like Ive smoked enough Med's to be relaxed for atleast 6hourss.

was reading they got the bomb blackberry kush. saw the 300oz spec, so i gave it a whirl. in a building that previously housed another ispensary, way around behind a hospital near a mobile home park. good parking, up one flight and there it is. verified quick, in there cecking it out. big solid pieces, smelled real sweet, under a manifier, looked real nice. got the big bag, took it home, and three b loads in, definitely the finest blackberry kush ive had. not a big fan of this strain normally, but this one changed my mind. thanks for the fire. also was there on oct 29, everyone on the staff was walking dead, there was lots of fog inside, this hand kept trynna grab me when i reached for the skittles. pretty damn bizarre, yet cool too. should have looked at the other strains, but i was tunnelvision on the BBK. wanna come back soon, see some other thangs. definitely recommend this spot.also they threw in some jolly hashers, real tasty.

SO CHILL AND AMAZING
Ever since the first day i walked into Platinum RX i was greeted by all the staff and immediately felt right at home. They have many choices for indicas as well as sativas and all are top quality bud. They never pressured me to buy anything and they even have free complimentary snacks. The atmosphere is great and they really go out of their way to spruce the place up and make it interesting and not so drab like most dispensaries. Their is plenty of parking and it is very easy to find. Overall, if your looking for a friendly atmosphere where people actually try to talk to you and ask about your day instead of just wanting you to buy bud, good prices, and excellent bud quality; Platinum RX is the place to go.

Friendly staff, weighed heavy, and an awesome envi
I went into Platinum RX today because I wanted to try the Blackberry ( my favorite strain) and had another great encounter. Doug really went all out trying to make the dispensary into a fun haunted house for Halloween weekend. I picked up a gram of Blackberry and Doug had it weighed out to 1.5 witch was very generous. The bud's aroma is very strong and it was covered in trichomes. I tried it in my HVY 8 arm Tree Burb and the flavor was very sweet and soothing unlike some of the harsher variants of this strain that ive seen floating around lately. I also intended on getting a Hubby bar (my favorite edible) since Platinum RX is the ONLY clinic in San Diego with them and now I dont need to drive up North for them anymore but the were already sold out O.o lol. Guess im gonna have to be alittle quicker on getting those things now that everyone wants them hahaha. All in all, another great trip, great meds, and great friends. See you guys again soon.

Sorry to the previous reviewer about the lack of hubby bars...I had to get my fix. If you get a chance to check out the Platinum RX House of Horror, I would highly suggest it, Doug and the crew went all out. Before today I had never had a hubby bar, however my eyes are now open, these candy bars are effin potent. I ate a half the bar and thirty minutes later I was set on one hell of a body buzz. Did I mention it tasted awesome? I had to restrain myself from consuming the other half, and then some. Basically Hubby Bars are legit and once you try them, they will be your favorite as well.
I also picked up a few varieties of hash on today's visit. Three for the price of two is a great deal IMO :D. I got the rest of the skywalker og; that stuff is smooth and tasty, it took a second to creep on me but did it ever. I'm sure the other hash won't disappoint, but at the moment its difficult to distinguish between the effects of one or the other.

First And Second Trips
So the first time I went to this dispensary was with my gf, super easy to find an since there open late I've only been there past 9 so parking was cake. Paperwork was super easy and to the back we went. The owner was the one who was helping us an he was a super nice guy who knows his stuff. After sampling 2 of the meds I picked up Skywalker OG and Jack Skellington and my girl picked up Bruce Banner and Lemon Skunk. Highly recommend the Bruce Banner and Skywalker OG, super dank. He even kicked my girl down a beautiful clone of Tahoe OG. Second visit was with a dude I work with, I picked up some Chocolate Chunk and some G-13 Hash. Herb was good but to light of a high for me, deff worth tasting though. I would and will deff go back to this dispensary there are still bout 5-6 super bombs there I wanna try, but keep your eyes open if you plan to stop there cause rumor is there changing locations soon. Every time I go to Platnum, I wish I had more money to come back every day. They treat people with such respect and actually care about how your doing. Not to mention that there bud is amazing. The northen lights I picked up a few weeks ago was just the best, add that to the 15 other top shelf strains and this place rocks! The mid grades are even better than some places "top shelf" and you cant beat the price. They have oz's for $200 and up, are way cool, and have a very pretty staff (sorry I don't mean you doug) So check the jack skellenton, J1, super lemon haze, and the skywalker OG, they will make you want to come back as much as I do.

I only leave a review if i like the place. if i dont like it, i dont leave bad reviews. i just dont go there. went back here after the blackberry kush motherlode, and wanted to peep some hash. so walked right in, saw like 6 kinds but two of them i really wanted. got some hefty chunks(thanksalot) and thought the earth og was wow, so went ahead and got some of this as well. there is one huge chunk that i just wanna shove up my nose and let it chill there. it is piney, perfectly cured and she is pretty too! smoked two mixer bolws with each hash. damn man, that earth is bomb as fuck. tastes supergood, expansion, smooth exhale. Both hashes were real kind. tried the SourOG and Purple Train. both ton of flavor, Doug said these hybrid hashes were sweet. nice kick, fresh..i liked them all the way. A good experience
This place is definitely worth going to.
They have a great selection on strains...sooo many to choose from...soo little money..
The place is pretty private - you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to it.
The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. The only thing I did not like about it (which may be a little unfair since it has absolutely nothing to do with the staff or the establishment itself) are some of the other patients. I am more used to the 21+ dispensaries, where you won't find annoying, loud, obnoxious 16 year old patients like I found here.
The staff is wonderful. All manners and all smiles. Brilliant.
Parking was awesome...the lot of was practically empty in the middle of the day.
Now the price...the price is what gets me. The weed prices are legit, but I smoke mainly hash, and it's kinda expensive here. Not the most expensive, but by no means the cheapest either.

My last review for Platinum was in August and I forgot what it was about but my review had an official collective response telling me to come and Get a Free Gram, pretty much for my review & thanking me, but I didn't see it until recently and messaged Platimum Rx asking if the offer still stood?
I received a message from Doug and he told me it was of course still available and welcomed me to come by and said he would take care of it personally or his staff surely would. I stroll in that same day but just missed Doug, oh well maybe next time, I tell the BT and she has no problem with it even though I didn't purchase anything...I know, I felt like an asshole but I was in the area and my money is looking funny at the moment so it really helps and I do appreciate it.
I looked at multiple strains an was pretty happy to finally see some Earth OG. Definitely the best OG in at the time and well worth the $20 a Gram price tag. I was torn between their Blackberry Kush and Master Kush. The Master Kush was a bit purple and really reminded of Bubba Kush rather then Master Kush which I typically smell a deep Kush musk to it but it was Frosty and very lovely as well but I felt more like a Heavy Night time bud, so I went with their Blackberry Kush and the BT weighed it out to 1.3g and let me remind you that I paid nothing.

1.3g BlackBerry Kush - I loved every hit of this Blackberry and the strain is starting to rub off on me because of its narcotic high that puts me on my ass almost everytime it gets the chance. The buds are Thick and Dense and very solid with the usual dark purple with a white coating of fuzz mixed in with some visible trichomes. Blackberry always looks great and so does this one with a very great buzz that last for quite awhile and very heavy as well with a great all around smoke that leaves me wanting more each time I take a hit, just so I can get another taste of that Sweet Blackberry...Heavy Batch!!!

Platinum is the 3rd club I visited since renewing my Rec in July and is 1 of only very few collective's that gets me coming back, you want to know why? because I always leave happy and know when I return it will be the same...A very compassionate cycle if you will.
Platinum Rx always treats me with respect and ALWAYS makes me feel welcome, Its not like they recognize me or anything but I am no regular to any place so I don't expect it but the staff doesn't know me or know I am a Top 10 Reviewer but they still treat me and my buddies the same every time, which is great and very helpful.
I hope the other Platinum Rx is just as good but I doubt it, Platinum Rx has set a high bar to bet for themselves but a $45 1/8 is a great way to start and will definitely have to check it out.BiNG -

As Advertised
They advertise happy hour Thursdays from 10-2-All strains capped at $50 "Even top Shelf". I donated for an eighth of Skywalker OG and was told that the $50 cap is not valid for top shelf strains. The girl seemed genuinely nice but when I questioned the discrpency she told me that the top shelf strains are expensive so they don't cap at $50. For me no big deal, BT overcharged me but it cost her the tip. This place has super good flowers but it's a business and should honor their advertised specials.
Wow did not expect that. I called the shop and spoke to Marcy who apologized. I ended up feeling like a jerk. This is a good shop that takes care of their members 100%.davetherave33 -

looks: red, purple and velvet with some crazy orange hair and white ish trichs
smell: definet spicy/cedar/cherry burnoff kinda how alot of jamaican strains smell
(not sayin that this strain is or is not)
taste: a grape singe with a sort of exotic ginger spice taste
effects: uh... wut jus happened? yeah this is sum fun herb...
very forgetful at times but definetly good weed to take the day on with
you feel like the whole day has passed by but it was really jus 2 hrs.

looks: sum purple along with a weird cedar lime green color and sum nicely encrusted trichs

The Only Place to go in San Diego!!!!
I made a trip from north county just to go to this place. Passing alot of places on the way. Platinum is the only true patient dispensary in the county. They are the most compassionate staff i have ever seen. Most places you can tell they are all about the money but not this place. Platinum acually cares about us patients because it is ran by REAL patients. When you find a place with awesome service combined with the best meds around at good prices you get PLATINUM RX. Picked up an oz of the white widow. Great for nerve pain. Just a real relaxing high. Also got some of the pre rolls. Even the quality of meds in the pre rolls are great. Took a few hits of one and was doing just fine. For the drive home i got some of the hard candies.(rootbeer ones are good) I wasn't in so much pain on the drive home as i ually am. If your looking for something to cure all ailments try the Purple Bubba Kush. It is some of the best i have seen in a while. Tastes soooo good!! Great for bed time.
I live with chronic pain 24/7 every minute of the day so i know a good place when i see it. It is well worth the drive. If you haven't tried this place yet i suggest you do.

Cant say enough about the staff.. the owner and receptionist/bud tender were mad informative and friendly. Wasnt just about the transaction, both had time to help me out with my choices and just chat it up about other flowers

Just Found out its in the same building as my work
Well I havent been to this location yet but Ive been to their other. I just found out this location is in the same building, i never knew. But i tried to leave a 2nd review on their other location but it wouldnt let me so i decided to put it on here since they have the same and its the same owner and they're the BEST
So I got in a car accident the other day and totalled my car. So I havent been able to make it in since my 1st trip in. I called in asking if they closed at 12 tonight not thinkin of what day it was, and planning on getting a ride down there but she said 10. So i decided to ride my lil cousin push scooter ha. Its about 2 and a half miles from my house, the first about mile being a steeeep hill. I got there pretty quick, got to the back pretty much as I walked in. They were pretty busy but that didnt stop Julia from helpin me. I decided to grab a Gram of the Deadhead Reserve Og. she weighed that out, and threw a couple goodies in my bag as i was walkin out. not gonna tell you what all she gave me, but DAMN she could not have made the trip more worth it!
Unless of course she came home with me but hey im not gonna blame her I was on a Scooter haha.
Im definitely going to be loyal to this spot and their other location as well as I just found out its right upstairs from my work's office. I prolly won't hit up any other shops again. only suggestion I have is get in some oils or waxes.

One Word, Class.
This place was the classiest and most laidback dispensary I have ever been to.
I was welcomed into a nice centrally located office area with a calm atmosphere and what appeared to be many various snacks on a table. I walked in and was greeted kindly by the owner of the dispensary. Me and my friend OhanaCo both offered our recs and he gave us clipboards, and halfway through the 2 (yes only two!) pages of forms to fill out, we are already verified and the guy offers us water or soda. We are shocked because this has never actually happened and we stutter and ask for two waters. When we get them, we recieve them greatly and he tells us it'll only be a minute or two. We are then let into the amazing bud room and we see the OZ jars over on the counter. We immediatly go in and he hands us the jar and says go ahead scope it, so we do. First the purple kush, super buttery dense nuggs and purple purple purple, little raisens on your nugs, smelled BOMB! Then the white whidow, smelled like heaven and was super loaded with hairs. The owner then offered the 300 oz of blackberry kush which looked absolutely amazing. white hairs like you cannot BELIEVE! It was truly an amazing batch, but i only had enough for the 200oz, regardless I got a split oz of white widow and purple kush. Both weighed a little heavy. I will be returning to this place again definately. An amazing atmosphere mixed with actual customer interaction and you create someplace like Platnium RX.

Nothing better then a after christmas welcome.
Today has got too be one of my best days at RX by far. I went in there with the money I got for christmas, at first I got what I came for which was a quad of The Goo. Then I decided to ask what they got in new and plus they have a new worker Julia who is beautiful and friendly which is another reason I love this place due to the people and the vibes. I saw that they had Mars OG and I had to get some of that due to trying it before in the past and i knew it would smoke good in a nice blunt, I got an incredible 1.9 for 20! Now thats a gift from god. Then I saw that they had some containers with medication in them, I asked and found out it was the rest of some strains they had and one was the Pre 98 Bubba 3.5 for 40 , I didn't have to think twice..I know what's up with that and it was the last of the last so I got it, and that made me smile even more. As i was leaving I bought a couple swishers and she gave me a couple goodies also cant say what cause it would ruin the point! I came to realize that RX doesn't faze me when it comes to knowing what people like. I can go in there and realize I'm getting what I came for and NEVER have a problem with it and the outcome. The only thing I NEED to do is check out the new shop thats a deff. And last I can say is that...RX you made my Holiday even more Happy! Thank you!

When i opened the jug, to my surprise i saw nothing but little white and orange hairs. It was hard to find green, which i loved. The smell is something of a rose. Upon further examination, once nug out of jug, i began to see just how many crystals and orange hair patches littered this beautiful nug. I picked off a small piece and packed a load for me and OhanaCo and SilentToad.
After a bong load with an ashcatch, smelled and tasted amazing. Smoked beautifully and was amazing when it snapped!!
Without ashcatch load- tasted bold, like spicy nacho doritos. Not exactly but kinda that bold taste.
In pipe- fucking tasted like chocolate. Wow!! Dark chocoate and dark chocolate tastes like rasperries. And raspberries are in the family as blackberries so technically we taste blackberry. Win!

TRY PLATINUM RX???
Anyone out there that needs a good dispensary try this place. I have tried many differant places around San Diego and nothing even compares with the service or quality of their meds at Platinum Rx. Nothing beats their prices either. Awesome oz specials. The staff always knows what meds are best for my situation. Very knowledgable about what meds are good for what. Picked up a half of the Critical Mass and a half of the Goo. Both are amazing. Great for pain and sleep. I have NEVER had any complaints about the meds i have gotten from here. OMG!! I had one of the watermelon suckers on the way home that day and i slept better that night than i have in years. I'm stocking up on them next time I go.
I wish there was more i could say about this place. They are just all around the BEST in San Diego. Thank you Platinum Rx!!!!

The owner/operator is really friendly and makes you feel welcome the second you enter.

Happy Mistake
So I have never left a review before, but the meds are so great here I just had to write a review so here it goes. The staff is very nice and not so hard on the eye too. The waiting room is very nice they even have munchie for those who are in need of them (free). Now to the most important part of the review the meds. They offer a nice mixture of meds for my liking. I chose platinum kush and purple dawg, I would recommend either one to those who have problems sleeping like me. So I would just like to thank this place for the great meds and you will be seeing me again.

as soon as i walked up the stairs, i could already smell the goodness of the medication . its like my 420 instincts had no trouble finding this place.like every despensery has its own atmosphere, but this one is unique, not bc of the great staff but bc the way its set up. its like they know how to treat their patients meaning they have snacks with ah big screen, t.v , which makes it ah relaxing place. and the staff are chill and really nice!, and no i aint kissing no ones a** im just giving my opinion as a patient! thereefore i will go back to this place at any giving time.and thats ah for sure not ah might. im medicating on the white widow as i wrote this review!:)5/5 en todo.

Sadly.
Until a couple months ago, I was a regular patient at Platinum RX. Their flowers were never of worthwhile quality, so i went in for the hash promotion that they offered for a while here, where you could purchase two grams and receive one as a gratuity. even their hash was of subpar quality, (an example would be that anything advertised as a full melt, didn't melt whatsoever) however, this was still a quantity of medicine that i could afford. My dispute with them was over false advertising. They refused to give me the 3 for 2 deal when they still had it advertised on Weedmaps. I called back the next day,to try and settle it before resorting to tarnishing their reputation with an accurate negative review on weedmaps.The girl on the phone told me that it was their mistake, as they had "intended to remove the advertisement, but had not gotten around to it", but there was nothing that she intended to do to make it right.(at the time of this phone call, they still advertised the promotion in question posted on this very website). My point is, whatever business in this country, it doesn't matter. By law you are required to adhere to what you advertise. Whats even more shameful, is that this is not meant to be "just business". This is a medical community and it has no room for people trying to take advantage of patients to make a profit.
Also, when I was a "customer" here, I couldn't help but notice that their budtenders are anything but knowledgeable. In retrospect, the first time I ever visited this establishment was because they advertised that they carried "Herojuana". when I looked at it, it turned out to be some stemmy,no-name sativa dominant, unappealing looking stalky bud. I told the budtender that this was not real Herojuana, and he told me he knew nothing about Herojuana. The sad part is, he was the most competent of the staff I have dealt with at Platinum RX.
Bottom line, don't write checks you cannot cash,and don't advertise what you don't intend to make good on.
NOTE; There's some fascism afoot. Its a great disservice to the patient community that Platinum RX can just censor and remove any reviews that are less than complimentary. My review was heavily altered, and I have noticed at least 5 or 6 negative reviews simply disappear from Platinum RX page on this website. The patients have a right to honest, accurate reviews, and when something shady is happening they have a right to know about it. Perhaps instead of censoring dissatisfied patients, it would be more constructive for Platinum RX to improve their business ethic and their quality of service...drhystrysmystrys -

Don't pay attention to crappy reviewers!! PLEASE!
Platinum Rx is the only TRUE PATIENT Dispensery in all of San Diego. They go above and beyond every time i go see them. They know exactly the right meds for my condition. They have NEVER did me wrong. If anything they do too much. The staff are very knowledgeable about about all the strains of meds they have. And they are all GOOD!!! Great meds for any budget.
Being disabled like i am, i have tried ALOT of other places around San Diego. No other place even compares to the service and quality you get from platinum.(Or Prices) Since i found Platinum i stopped looking for the best. I FOUND IT!!!!!

First Time, It was ALL Good!!
My girlfriend and I went into Platinum RX last night after checking it out on Weedmaps. It was pretty easy to find, right off the 805 freeway, with easy parking right up front. Once we made our way upstairs, and in the front door, we were verified by the BT in less than 5 min, and welcomed into the flower room. Platinum has a large selection of flowers, spanning across two large glass counters, filled with edibles and concentrates. The nice, knowledgeable BT gave us a quick tour of the flower room and a price breakdown before we started looking around. We decided to pick up some Abusive OG, Sensi Star OG, Lemon OG Diesel, Northern Lights, and some O Shizzle Hash. There first time deal was a 4 gram 1/8 so we split two.
Northern Lights - Defiantly my favorite of all the sativa strains. The flowers are all ultra dense, perfectly manicured, and have a pungent citrus, piny smell. They have a light green color, an amazing amount of long, light orange hairs, and a beautiful heavy, white, trichome coating. It is an extremely smooth sativa smoke, with only a small amount of expansion, and a delicious citrus exhale. There is an immediate rush that comes from the back to the front of the head, locking in behind the eyes, and leaving a hazy, relaxing feel. A nice day time pick, but doesn't have the energetic punch some other sativas have.
Lemon OG Diesel - This is a great hybrid strain, combining two of my favorite strains. The flowers have a medium amount of density, and bounce right back when compressed. They have a bright light green color, a heavy amount of dark orange hairs, and milky white trichomes smothering the flower inside and out. This flower burns into a thick, dense smoke, that brings a heavy punch of expansion, and a fuel flavored exhale that inflicted a small choke. This is a great hybrid, starting with a heady sativa feel, quickly followed by a light body relaxation, that still allows you to function. A great strain for a day of watching football and relaxing.
Sensi Star OG - Interesting batch of the Sensi Star strain, that caught my eye and nose immediately. The flowers are all extremely dense and sticky. There is an amazing earthy OG funk, with sour cheese undertones. It moslty is a deep, dark green color, with small rust colored hairs. Each flower has a nice sprinkling of trichomes on the outside, but there is major trichome production on the inside once a flower is cracked open. The smoke is smooth, with some rapid, heavy expansion, and an amazing, earthy, OG flavored exhale. The effects are heavy and very relaxing, bringing on some serious couchlock within a few minutes. This is a dank OG, that will provide a pain free, knockout night sleep. This is probably my favorite of all the flowers I picked up, and has the most traditional OG feel.
Abusive OG - This is the first time I have come across this variation of OG Kush. The flowers are large, round, and plump, allowing for almost no compression. It has a great sweet and earthy OG smell that jumps out of the container. It is mostly a bright light green, with vibrant orange hairs, and a heavy dose of white trichomes covering each flower from top to bottom. It is a surprisingly smooth smoke, with only a small amount of expansion, and a earthy, spicy exhale. Its not a traditional OG feel like the Sensi Star, but still a strong, full body effect, that also has a heavy euphoric, heady effect. This is a great strain to watch a good movie, and chill at home.
O shizzle Hash - The BT told me this is a full melt, OG hash. It is a deep, dark, brown, almost black color. It is extremely pliable and sticky making it hard to get out of the container. When it is heated with Bee Line, it melts 80%-90% only leaving behind a small amount of ash. It has a heavy relaxing effect, that brings a major couchlock effect after only one dose, a great sleep aid, and an instant pain reliever.
Overall, I as very pleased with my first trip to Platinum. I really liked the wide selection of flowers(sativa, hybrid, and indica), concentrates, and edibles, all at decent prices. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the setup was clean and professional. I would recommend anyone in the area to check this place out. Hot women, selling amazing meds at great prices...oh, and munchies in the lobby...what more do you want, a written invite? Here it is. Purple dawg, lemon something or other and the jack diesel are all VERY nice and the p-dawg has been helping with my girlfriends sleep. Looking forward to going back soon!

ok so this is actually my first review on weedmaps and for a good reason too!
after visiting platinum rx, i was just blown away by the overall experience at this dispensary. not only was the bud tender super chill, down to earth, and helpful, but their meds are just absolutely dank. ive had a hard time finding buds that get me domed beyond words and after taking one sample hit in the store, I just knew i had found the right place.
anyway, i am by no means a writer, but I did have to give this club some major props on just being freaking legit. nuf said.
hope i can help bring this club some extra business cause they honestly deserve it.

Best Accident Ever!
So on a beautiful San Diego Sunday i decided to embark on journey to one of my favorite collectives to enjoy my usual Sunday routine of football and fine greens. So my roommate and I hopped in my car and headed off, we wanted to stop and get gas 1st just in case, honestly i didn't want to spend all my money at the shop and not be able to get home LOL!...be that as it may this pit stop put us on the opposite side of the road, and my roommate insisted if we took this back road it would get us there quicker and avoid the traffic on Balboa. Well needless to say 10 minuets after driving down windy residential roads i decided to stop this charade and pull out my phone for GPS assistance...While doing this i thought "eh ill just take a quick at weedmaps to see if anything might be closer. Well turns out Platinum Rx was closer so i figured i'd stop by real quick and see what kind of 1st time patient deals they offered and how there bud quality was...so i made a quick U'y followed my GPS through some back roads and i was lead right to my destination. The place was pretty easy to find coulda used a bigger sign but i think they are moving so that explains it. Parking was amazing literally right in front of the door. This place has customer service down pat...that'll honestly be the reason i go back, their bud is great but you can find good quality bud like this at most places, no offense...any way yeah customer service...Marcy was amazing sooooo super friendly and caring, and that was just at check in....one of the best female budtenders i know other than my girl Ali at MFDC...but the atmosphere was bomb...they have chips and candy free to patients as well as friends/family while they wait. NO OTHER SHOP i know does this, congrats!...i told my roommate he was a total dumbass for waiting in the car...he said "how am i suppose to know they'd have candy!" "how many other shops have that?" "exactly none, not my fault!"...believe you me he wont be making that mistake again LOL...paperwork was the usual, qot through it pretty quickly and was back in the bud room within 5 mins...again customer service shined!...Marcy was quick to introduce herself explain the ins and outs the shop and what they had to offer...everything looked amazing i was honetly a little overwhelmed...i get like that sometimes when i get around so much beautiful cannibus... but i took a deep breath and began to browse...Marcy was quick to ask me my needs and what i liked, we spent time discussing different strains and what they had to offer...i went with LSD and Purple Bubba Kush both were FIIIYYAAHHH!!!!! Since it was my 1st time she hooked up it up to a 4g 8th which was cool not much a 1st time gift but like i said the customer service made me forget that...its rare you go into shops, or for that matter anywhere now a days and receive good customer service...the biggest disappointment was they were out of full melts and i was soooo in the mood to get melted that day but she assured me they'd have more soon an show me what turned out to be a viable substitute..some OGizzle and ill call it a 3/4 melt...not the full melt or wax i was looking for but like i said it was a viable substitute. Over all the experience was top notch and with the bud quality, a promise of full melts, and amazing customer service...in the words of our former governor "I'll Be Back"

Good Second Impression
First go around with Platinum I got some White Widow that just wasn't all that great but I came back today after renewing my card and got some Blue Lights. Phenominal! Northern Lights (my favorite Sativa) and Blue Dream. What a great combo. Nice clear mental high with an outstanding body high. This is going to be a big hitter here in San Diego. I also picked up some Kryptonite that will be talked about I'm sure in a later review. Thanks Platinum!

Best Dispensary
Absolutely love this place! I only pick up medication about once every 2 weeks so i've only been here twice, but both times i came i was greated politely and treated very well. They have a Huge selection of meds so whatever it is you want, you'll probably find here. The prices are very fair and in each case reflected the quality of the meds. The White widow is a great deal for sure. This is also one of the very few places i found with a large and quality selection of concentrates. I picked up on the lemon og diesel and lsd, both of these were fantastic meds which got me on a good body high (not too lazy) and dont have you feeling too stupid. I recomend coming here 100% definately worth your while.

Great selection - Open till midnight!
I came here late at night on my way out of SD at 11pm because of their white widow special.
They're located on the corner of the block, upstairs in the plaza.
Staff was edgy at first, the guy at the window kept asking me if I had any weapons on me..
Apparently they had problems in the past, but his attitude was not welcoming. After being
verified I was helped by this young lady that was more friendlier and helpful. She let me
check out all the buds at my pace. Neat showroom set up, glass display counters with a
variety of product, good edibles. This shop is also featured on 420 Girls!
They have a nice selection of good herb here especially the Master Kush and variety of OGs.
All the top shelf is mostly on point, there was only some herb that was disappointing. The
Lemon OG, and Lemon Diesel weren't really that dank, it had a herb-like smell to it.
I was hoping for more of a heavy citrus smell with a hint of OG, the buds looked a little dry and leafy,
they both had a little yellow haze over them. BT said it's good, but thats what they all say.
I like their concentrate selection, even though they didn't have any earwax, they still had
a lot of different hash strains to choose from. Price is not bad at all either for half a gram.
The amber glass hash here looked amazing, 60 a Gram for me is a lil pricey at first, but it
must be really good. The BT said it's their most potent concentrates, I believe her.
I had a hard time choosing what herb I wanted because they had good 8th deals here. At first
I came for the WHITE WIDOW, but it was not good at all. The herb was not fresh, it had a dry
stale plant smell to it and the buds weren't really green and it lacked proper crystals. I've
had home grown white widow better than that. But 21 an 8th, is a pretty good deal if it gets
you high. But
I ended up getting the *GOO*. Sweet deal for 35 and 8th! These buds are fresh. They have a nice
soft sticky texture to it, dense with nice gold crystals decked out all over the buds. Great aroma - smells like
Afgoo with a hint of citrus. Smokes great, super smooth out of a dry piece. Taste like how it
smells, like Gooey - citrus. Very clean light high; uplifting and highly function-able. I can
smoke this on the regular without getting drowsy nor tired of the same high. Good!
Over all experience - NOT BAD! I felt alittle rushed by the other staffs staring at me while I
was trying to make a selection. But the medicine made up for it. ^.^

really nice first time visit.
I cruised through here with RT for our second leg of our 3 shop tour. This place is a bit off the beaten path but was still easy to find. There's parking so no worries. There's a grip of candy and other snacks so that's cool too. The staff wasn't in any way, shape, or form rude or shady. Maybe our experience was different than other patients. They had a minor issue finding RT's paperwork but after a few minutes and a couple candies we were in the back. We have checked out their sister store in the past and wanted to check their other location. The other shop is cool too and the staff at both shops were actually really nice and upbeat. One chick at each shop was super bubbly and cool. The dude was way cool too and I quizzed him about their ogs and really felt his opinion was on point so again props to the staff!
The shop caps at 60 and that's my only gripe. 60 is lame and for the most part I usually won't even check out the 60's. The lower priced meds here are dank so there's still quality to be had from 55 on down. They have an array of flowers, a ton of edibles, a grip of hashes and basically anything you could want. They even let RT and I snap a sample so thanks for that too! They have a nice variety of strains here that include the usual suspects but also some underrated crosses. Purple dawg, lsd, lemon og, blue lights, the flave, deadly nightshade etc...
For this visit I went with an 8er of the jupiter og and a gram of the heavy hitter og. I had asked the dude which og he thought tasted better and he said the p.r. og tasted better than the jupes but I went with the jupiter instead. I should've taken his advice. The jupiter looks dank and smells killer. The taste is where I thought it fell off so he was correct in his recommendation. For 60 the taste should be flawless and it fell short. Not to worry no hate here. The look was still killer. The nug is a kermit the frog green coupled with an olive green hue. The sugar leaves are scarce but they're a darker hunter green. Trichome coverage is heavy. There's a decent layer of frost covering the surface. The trichs jump out a bit more when you break her open. She shines on the inside for sure! The smell is on point with og at your favorite shop and there's a creamy sweetness to this medicine that I'm a fan of. The high was pleasant and I caught an immediate couchlock and some wicked cotton mouth. There was no pain to report so the strain was heavy enough to tranquilize me. I just wish the flower tasted better. I'm all about a nice sweet tasting og and for 60 I was hoping the jupiter would put me on another planet.
Heavy hitter og is the other flower I got. Now this og was everything you'd want in a strong indy. A really killer og if you ask me! The only issue is the $60 sticker. At least with this batch the taste, high, and effects far exceeded the batch of jupiter. This really is a heavy flower. The high has me pain free and relaxed and it rolled up early! Like second hit type shit. Really crystally nuggets. Trichs run deep on this sexy flower. The light green covering her surface is shared by some sweet sugar leaves that I'll be sure to pluck and shoot, and some med. jar orange colored hairs scattered about. There's frost like a winter morning and the smell is a sweet/citrusy stench that's real easy on your nose. Couple the citrusy smell with a piney/petro aroma and you'll get an idea of the smell of this wonderful flower. One of the better flowers I sampled that day.
If you haven't checked this shop out cruise down to them or their sister shop and meet some cool people. The medicine is dank! The staff is dank. They have a grip of candy and I have a sweet tooth! But for real go check them out! peace91malibuchemdawg -
Good danks, terrible edibles
I came here after looking at weedmaps for white widow and I couldn't believe the price. For the price, white widow was exceptional. 168 dollars for an ounce? Just crazy. The high is nice and so is the taste. I also picked up some Purple Mr. Nice which was dank. I enjoyed the fast hitting high which is terrific for those who needs medication ASAP.
However the edibles were terrible. I bought some pills and a krispy treat. I took 2 Indica pills which did nothing after hours. The next day I took 3 Sativa pills which gave me a slight high for a moment, then nothing. I also ate the whole krispy treat which had blue dream hash, that barely gave me a high. It was 3 dollars a pill and 10 dollars per krispy treat. Total waste of money.
If you do receive medication from this place, do not get the pills or the krispy treats. It barely does anything for the price and I've had better edibles from other dispensaries. Instead of buying their edibles buy their danks.

Gold Dust
So this is my first review of platinum RX and guess it was a long time coming. SO Today I went in for my monthly meds as I stock up while the prices are right and at this place they always are. But on the glorious sunday I walked in to find something I have never had and that is the Amber Glass Hash. I know right now you are asking yourself what is that? Well it in the most beautiful of all the hash varieties, amber in color and is granual. It almost looks like amber colored sugar and after todays experience I just might start puting it on my cereal. Now I know you are about to check the price and say holy jebus $55 a G. Well my friend take it from me its worth it and will go very far. It takes just the smallest hit to help allivate anything that ails you.

Grower/Breeder Review
This is my first review so let me preface this with the fact that I have been growing/breeding marijuana for 10 years and I am a member of nearly every dispensary in the greater SD county. These are my unsolicited opinions of Platinum RX... for what they are worth:
Bud Quality: Fantastic to ok. That's not a slight. Some people need the lower quality for less money to stretch their coin. However, their midshelf is, on average, much much better than 90% of the other collectives in the greater San Diego area. And their top shelf is TOP shelf. Let me expound on the various strains I picked up on my last visit:
DJ Short Blueberry - grower knows what he's doing. It has a sweet blueberry smell right out of the jar (big surprise) and the trichomes are long and milky to amber (perfect harvest) on long dense, sticky nugs. Fantastic stoney couch-lock high, and flavorful.
Black Lights - Same as above. Very berry, very indica, and very good. It's a cross between Blackberry Kush and Northern Lights. If you like both of those strains then I highly recommend that you pick up some of this dankness. When you snap the buds, you'll see all of the beautiful milky trichomes throughout the bud and all along the stems. Just looking at it and pulling it apart you can immediately see the Afghan Kush lineage. Bed time. Whoever put this batch together is a hell of a grower, and I bet he saved some 8th bag hash for himself to get crushed on. I would.
Platinum OG - Don't let the looks deceive you. The nugs aren't as visually pleasing as the DJ Short or Black Lights, but that's because Platinum OG is a hearty, fast growing plant and they make for great screen of green patients which leads to smaller, denser nugs. I've been using this, coupled with some cotton candy earwax hash of my own to crash lately. Great sleeping meds.
Super Silver Haze - SSH is kind of a bitch of a plant to grow. Of the several different phenotypes, each one grows very differently than the others and produces starkly different colas. This SSH isn't the most visually appealing batch I've seen, or even smelled, but....BUT...the high is awesome, and that's usually the case with all SSH grows. I'm admittedly a total whore for sativas, so take this as you will, but I love the high this thing produces for $45/8th.
Atmosphere: This is pretty subjective so I will just say that in my opinion, it's as nice and comfortable as any other collective I've ever been to. They have plenty of mags to read and snacks to eat. If you have to wait, the wait doesn't suck. Same for Platinum Lounge over on Morena.
Staff: Awesome. I've met the owner, and nearly all of the bud tenders, and each time that I introduce myself I feign ignorance and ask a lot of silly questions that I know the answers to, in order to get a grasp of their cannabis knowledge. No one ever acts like I'm an idiot, and no one tries to pretend they know shit they don't. They are knowledgeable and easy to be around, and if you're unfamiliar with what type of marijuana you're looking for...just ask. They probably have the answer.
Accessibility: Depends on where you live really, but I live in north county and I regularly make trips to Platinum to check out their stash.
Price: Price is relative. How bad do you want top shelf? They're right in line with anyone else for the quality of marijuana they're offering. They have several levels, and their mid-shelf products, are much better than most of the other dispensaries I've sold to or become a member with. I've never been to Platinum and felt like I got screwed after I smoked the goods. They're AWESOME about making you happy as a member and if you can, stop by on Sundays to meet Doug. He likes to meet the members, and for me, personally, that actually means something.

Keep it Heavy
Residing at a great location, central to many avenues, and a wholly clandestine outward appearance. With awesome staff, depth and value within their inventory, complete the order of necessity. Upon entering the club, I was met with a cafe-lit waiting room and a flatscreen with some sports going on. In the budroom, their prices and specials are laid out, along with the shelf in a sort of pricing arrangement. They had attractive flowers for all prices but the one that jumped out at me was their Black Lights, so sweetly robust and patterned with splotches of dark under the sheen of crystals. Their concentrates have a full spectrum of quality as well, I went with their mid-grade hash as it seemed a bigger jump to get waxes or more exotic types.

off the chain
This place is a beastly hole in the wall. The number 6631 is kinda hard to find the first time, just because the building is a maze, but in the end i just felt frickin stupid lol. But it is a nice atmosphere when you step in; couches, tables, diagrams, snacks, you know it was professional. Check in was easy and quick, and everytime I go in I feel as welcomed as the first time. They have meds from the lowest price of 21 an eighth, to highest 20 a g, but don't be fooled, all the herbs are good. I try to stay in a variety; there are so many to choose from and doesn't dent your wallet.

looking for some medicine the other day, most places were closed so i headed to rx.tho finding it was very difficult lol, verification was very quick amd easy. once bck in the budroom i saw the tv screens with the menus, which i love seeing at places. their buds look low to mid grade chronic, the lower priced stuff pretty much looks like the topshelf, but im sure are more potent. i picked up an eigth of blue thunderfuck, which is one of the better grown indicas ive had. sweet flavor, nice looks, heavy medication. might be back to try there wax, def worth a visit.

Dont understand but I guess thats ok with business
Went into today to get meds have been to this place I think about 14 times now and a couple of times ago when I went in a big guy with a kinda shaved blond head and earings started talking to me and found out I was a veteran and stated that I got a 10% discount in non sale items he also put me int he system as a vet at least he said so since then when ive gone in ive asked marcie how I believe is the only person who has ever helped before this other guy and both are wonderful people but have been told that im in the system as a vet and get a discount. But today the owner confronted me as I asked for the discount and accused me of asking him pesonaly before for the discount and discussing it which I dont believe happened at all Ive never asked for this discount as I explained earlier this guy found out that i was while helping me and told me to start asking for it!! The owner was very nice but at the same time made me fell like i was trying to steal 10% OFF from his business and seriously ill patients which is just a fucking gut punch to someones pride and dignity like im some kind of thief or something and assuring me that hes spoken to me before about this subject is just untrue and i believe that i do not look like anyone else in the world an is hard to mistake my ugly ass for anyone else. Please inform your employee's of your rules so that they do not mislead your customers like i fell that i have. And as far as being a veteran yourself thats fine but that and the fact that you own some shitty dispensary does not give you the right to talk down to me and if i see you again will revisit this conversation! Dont worry I wont come in and try to rip you off for 10% again though. I mean i would actually believe this guy but marcie even said i was in the system as a vet and i never asked to be put in there as such!!!
Place has good meds, awesome selection, and good staff this is just my opinion from my experience today I still believe that his place is one of the best in town sorry that i dont ever feel welcome back again!!!!!loneranger79 -
it might just be me
ive tried both the platinum bars and the hash oil space bars with zero effects. i have tried edibles from other places with the same results but my buddies convinced me to try a few from here. i am really skeptical about paying up to 30 dollars for an edible even though the 12x macaroon chunk says to try if i am immune to edibles. but after seeing how hard these edibles hit my friends and dont hit me i just dont know if edibles work on me or not. if i have some extra cash plat rx will be the first place i'll go and hopefully that macaroon chunk works. other than the edibles (and really i dont know if its just that they dont affect me or not so im not saying that theyre bad cuz they hit my homies hard) the top shelf meds were definitely on par with anything ive seen in the area and platinum has a great selection of those lower priced buds that save the wallet while still providing fantastic relief. thanks platinum rx definitely the most legit one stop dispensary in my area.

I saw this place had some blue thunderfuck and had to go peep it. I was greeted by the owner and was helped by sarah, who knew her buds. Great customer service and the bud was even better. I ended up going with the blue TF and some blacklights, both amazing quality. I will be coming back soon.

A little hard to find,,,
I guess it just all depends on when you go. I had a totally positive experience. Went in as a first-timer, split an 1/8 of Venus OG & some White Devil. Also picked up some Cheesle Hash & OG Hash. Didn't get any freebies, but I checked the weight when I got home and everything was a little heavy. The flowers are both awesome Indicas. The Cheesle Hash was a little rough, but nice. The OG Hash on the other hand, was dee-licious! Smooth and mellow hits that leave my lips numb! Yummie.

I love it here!
Platinum Rx is awesome. I love the ladies that work there, they know their stuff and are always able to answer questions and talk about medications! They have a lot of selection in terms of buds and edibles, and a variety of other cool products that you don't see at too many other dispensaries. I have recently discovered the indica and sativa capsules that they sell here- $3 each and they are healthy for you too! They really work well for me. Also try their Melt your Mind bars- they are soo yummy and do the job well- a good value for $9. Try the Hawaiian Snow if you get a chance as well : ) Frosty buds and a good price for a top-shelf med.

AWESOME
This place is awesome. Very easy to get too (city bus or automobile) with a lot of parking. The dispensary and the waiting room are both small. I was the only person there, so no wait, but I imagine this place could get busy quickly. So if you're in a rush this might not be the place to go. But the bud was awesome. I wish I could give it more then 5 stars. Everything here was great and the first time deal was awesome as well. I think this place has great pricing and good deals. This place is super good & I think I will be medicating here regularly from now on.

Awesome spot! Guy who helped me out was really helpful with going through all of the different strains and definitely was a tough decision, but in the end settled with the Mr. Nice Plant and the Hawaiian Snow. Definitely satisfied with the quality of the medication and also appreciated the discreet location. I will definitely be back here!!!

Please Do Not Moderate This One!
Let me put this as delicately as I can. I arrived and the establishment and was greeted precociously. I first went in to get a concentrate but it was unavailable. So I purchased Sour Diesel that I was instantly happy about!! On my second visit, I again attempted to purchase a concentrate but, again it was unavailable. I purchased the Red Afghani and it was a very poor strain and seemed as if it was an afterthought. Please do not purchase the Red Afghani unless you enjoy throwing your hard earned money directly into a garbage can.

good quality and selection
I've stopped by a few times now and picked up various top shelf flowers from their plat private reserve og, c4 og and p91, etc and have been happy with the quality and broad selection. From my first visit to my last, each time has been quick, easy and the staff very friendly even when short staffed.

I recently started medicating with edibles, I have a pretty high tolerance so for years I had yet to feel the effects of an edible until recently trying Stash Chocolate Bars. They come in a variety of strengths & flavors, & Platinum Rx carries them ! It's great. These guys are just great people. plain and simple
Id like to take a minute to say something about these guys. Ive been hearing some rather mean or hurtfull things that have been said about the guys who work here, and I for one wont stand for it. Ive been coming here for quite some time and I must say that this has to be one of, if not the most polite, understanding and proffesional group of people I have yet to meet in a dispensary. And let me tell you, Ive been in some shady clubs, and got some shady, low grade stuff sold to me at an outrageous price. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that these guys are legit. High quality, amazing deals and prices that change weekly and even daily. The staff are just amazing people. I always feel safe, and more importantly, I always feel welcome. Who wants to go to a place where you dont feel welcome?
So for those poop heads out there who claim to have had a bad experience here, I say go fly a kite. I highly doubt your social skills are up to date if your gonna bash the only people that actualy care. These people have good hearts, and as I have recently learned, good buisness and good people are hard to find together. So next time you run outa herb and you dont want to go to your local dispensary cause of how broken down ghetto it looks, remember what you said about these guys, and why you cant come back. PS, just fyi, your names are on here, and if the same name is used when you go to the dispensary, then you might have just lost some good friends. .. so yeah. poop in YOUR shoes bro..... 2nd Time much better
Decided to give this place another chance due to only trying the mid grade and lower end. Glad I did. They have a great selection of edibles, strains and concentrates. Got 1/8 of Grapefruit OG (didn't want to go top shelf due to previous experience) and some honey stix to bring my voice back. The OG is a really nice strain that has a great citrus flavor that is sometimes missing in so-called "fruit" flowers. This one is definitely not lacking in that department and to me seemed more indica dominant. The pain relief took effect about 10 minutes after blazing. All in all this is a fantastic med that could easily sell for a higher price but I think with the selection here, it keeps the price of the higher end strains down. I think it may be time to go higher end cuz the Tahoe and Hulk looked pretty dank while I was there.

SHORT CHANGED
This is a great place to go great bud for great price but i currently just got back from this dispensery today and i have my own scale at home and when i weighed out my 8th for a 8th jilly weighed in at only 5.3 instead of 7. This is the second time this has happened to me with the same person who was there selling tonite so when u get that deal i would recommend to get him to let u see it weighed out right but as bud is consered this is a great place for edibles as well i would recommend the space bars for 8 dollors or the platinum bar for i do believe is 15 great choices for those hard to get to sleepers. So if there was any way u guys could answer me back about this topic it would be greatly appreciated iam still a faithful customer just would like a apology at the least. thank u. chris

Bhang Chocolate- HIGHLY Effective
While there is cheaper, better bud elsewhere, I feel inclined to comment on the sheer and utter effectiveness of the Bhang Chocolate bars. They are delicious, only mildly weedy tasting, and WOW so, SO medicating. Couldn't drive, that's for sure.

Second visit here. Went in for the nectar, and got a half gram of it. Pretty yummy stuff, tastes really good and is pretty potent. The place is kind of hard to find at first if you don't know where to look. The budtender this time around though didn't seem very knowledgeable. He was pretty chill but when he weighed it out he was super messy with it and didn't really know how to work with it or weigh it out. I was hoping he could tell me a little more about it as well, but he just said something along the lines of this will put you on the couch. I also went in specifically on Wednesday because they have the 10% off hash, but I didn't get the discount. :(

I feel robbed this place blows
I went here on monday and I could bare the long wait but not the ridiculous pricing, false advertising, and quality of the medicine. I was a new patient and I asked about a free pre roll but I was told that I was getting 4g 8th hook up. Really?? well 4g 8th is the norm at most places so for $60 thats pretty much expected without a new patient hook up. Also I thought mondays are free joint day but maybe update your false weedmaps discounts cus by reading the recent reviews this place 'forgets' to apply the discounts a lot.
The strains here all looked terrible, J1 is my favorite strain but the J1 at this place looked so terrible I had to just get whatever 'top shelf' they had.
To me it seems like their "top shelf" is simply the batch that doesnt SUCK as hard and the rest of the strains dont even pass as medicine. The super silver haze and the mr nice plant at $60 an 8th were both terribly harsh, dry, and a bunch of stemmy little nugs. It hurts to smoke this so now Im stuck with this crap till my next paycheck cus I dont have unlimited funds like the pricing at this place assumes we all have.
So much for a Halloween hook up definitely went to the wrong place and will never come back again.hempmessiah -

I am very happy with platinum rx I think the prices are fair and the staff is great I had never had a bad expirience I always find what I need, what I love the most about platinum that they also have great edibles.
