My first visit there I felt very welcomed, the staff was really fun to be around and they were all quite courteous. Mike the budtender was rad. Good selection, and for those that say their prices are too much, they offer plenty of options in the budlet form for pretty cheap. Great selection of edibles and other products as well.
although the quality of the medicine is outstanding, the prices are just ridiculous. as with the Oakland Harborside, it was difficult to find this place. budtenders are very knowledgeable, but they could be more helpful as well; kept steering me towards the higher end meds as opposed to lower end meds w/ a concentrate mix.
all in all, this is nothing compared to the Oakland clinic, but when the prices get more within my range i'll come back, and hopefully i'll remember it's location
So after spending christmas with family yesterday, I got on the internet and I saw something that caught my eye....A Harborside Dispensary in San Jose?!?!....Yup, I gotta check this place out....Stopped by today on the hunt for, you guessed it, edibles....After being greeted outside by the doorman, actually doorwoman and security I was let inside....Once inside, I had a flashback and thought I was downtown at the courthouse or at the airport....LOL....Another gentleman approached me with a plastic tub and asked me to put anything metal inside and walk through the metal detectors....Then it off to fill out paperwork and the tour....This all was completed in about 10 minutes....They had a decent selection of meds.....Maybe 10-12 strains....GDP, Grape Ape, Blue Dream, etc....They also had concentrates like hash and kief, as well as clones of Green Crack, Blue Dream, and Grape Ape....But I was interested in something for my sweet tooth....After choppin' in up with dude at the counter, I decided to grab a "Butter Brothers" Rasberry Streusel that supposed to be quad strength for a $12 donation....Kinda pricey but hey, you can't put a price on your health, right??....Staff was cool and verification was a breeze....Bud selection is okay but is supposed to get better....Only 2 med stations to check/purchase meds but is supposed to expand to 12....Not a bad start though....But bearing the "Harborside" name, it is no where near it's bigger brother location in Oakland but still a nice facility....I will have to check up on these guys in a couple weeks to see how things are going and will post any new changes....Happy Holidays!!
I was excited to hear that they'd opened up a Harborside in San Jose so I had to check it out.
I loved the helpful staff and cleanliness, a lot of clubs in San Jose just aren't up to par with Harborside, you really do feel like a patient, but the quality and value just wasn't there. You don't get much bang for your buck. I think this may be because they incur quite a bit of overhead hence the offset in price, ie 3.5 grams for $66 with tax for top shelf. If I'm spending that much, I expect quality- it was okay at best. I rated the convenience low because although it's right near my neighborhood, lines can sometimes back up and you don't get that 1 on 1 feel.
Basically:
Clean, nice setup, sometimes no 1 on 1 time with budtender, way too expensive, quality is not worth paying for.
So I go to SJ often and I decided to stop into Harborside. The place is in BFE, like seriously, this place is in the middle of no where. I wouldn't drive out of my way to get here as I didn't really like the experience.
Coming from the city I don't know what San Jose has to offer as I really haven't explored the scene here. But this place isn't up to the standards of the city, and is nothing like the harborside in Oakland.
The staff was kinda snobby and didn't really help with the questions I had, the selection of bud was ok, not a lot, and not too few. But the problem was the quality of those buds and the price, compared to the city everything was way too expensive! And the quality is lacking.
I was also kinda pressured into getting this carrot cake edible that cost like twenty five dollars, they said it was the strongest they had and that I had to get it. They didn't know the calories, but I got it anyway. It was terrible, taste and effect, I split what was suppose to be a 10 dose cake with two of my friends and none of us thought it was anything special.
Our purple querkle we got was not top shelf at all, but it was the best bud they had for the price. I'm going to check out other places in SJ, but so far I'm not impressed at all with what SJ has to offer.
No joke on the all the 5 stars with Harborside! Man, these guys really have done a great job on their collective.
At first, I thought it would be hard to find the place but they made the directions so easy off of their website, that I had no problem at all getting there. The parking was super safe and the security were really on top of things as they courteously explained to me the next steps I would have to take for verifying my doctors recommendation so that I could register . Everyone was cool and welcomed me when I entered, which felt nice because I was not feeling so great that day. When I stepped up to the counter, I was quite amazed with all the different types of flowers available. They also had mega mixes which are top shelf and high grade buds mixed together for a real good price. I learned a lot from the the individual who helped me and I felt as though he really listened to me and guided me to finding the right medicine. He even let me use the microscope to look up close to see the flowers quality. I also was overhearing some of the other staff talk about the medicine and clones they offer and you can tell they really know their stuff. I had a question about the genetics of a strain and the guy who helped me pulled out a series of books to help address my question. They're kinda like cannabis pharmacists!
Their edible selection also impressed me. This is the first place I have seen carry Alpha medicinals which was a new one for me and the Liberty Chip was definitely a great buy. They had a decent selection of concentrates the first time I visited, but the next time I went, they had improved on that area significantly. Oh yeah, and the holistic services that they offer for free is awesome. I can't wait to schedule a chiropractic and acupuncture appointment next time. On my way out I saw a patient given some medicine when they checked in and when I asked about it, I was told that they also offer a care package program which means that if you fall below a certain income level you get a free gram of medicine each week. The place is warm and friendly and still fairly new to the area, but i got to hand to them, because who else is doing it like them in San jose. Thanks Harborside for serving our community!
Ok, first off they picked a far off weird spot for this place... It's waaay out there. It's pretty much all the way in Milpitas. Hidden in the middle of a big business park. To note, it's near impossible to get there if you need to take public transportation big minus for all the disabled patients that cannot drive.
Too mean but it's all kiddies over there not living up to oakland.
This place is by far one of my favorite places to go to. Not only do they offer their menu daily, they also make sure I get the medicine I need without being rushed. I'll start off with my reasoning of my 5 stars.
Bud Quality
Harborside Health Center offers 4 different grades of 4 different prices. I came in the other day to find $30 Cole's Train Budlets, which to my surprise was one of the best medicines I have had! I was lucky enough to get there because the staff had told me it would be gone the next day. They offer budlets for $30 which was of superb quality! They consider these budlets low grade but it is merely the high grade which has smaller buds, not bad at all! Their mid grade selection usually consists of 3-4 strains. God's Gift was recommended by one of the associates working there. It ranked at 20% THC! They have everything tested by an analytical laboratory so I feel safe I'm buying mold/pesticide free medicine, especially for my asthma. If I smoke anything with molds or any other contaminants, I will instantly have an asthma attack, which I have suffered from, from other cannabis collectives in the past. There is generally a huge variety of high grades, mostly indica and sativa dominant hybrids. They are lacking in their pure sativas ans pure indicas sometimes, but I find that most collectives lack these as well. Their top shelves I find are amazing, but you gotta come at the right time it seems. They have such a huge client base, that as soon as the best stuff comes out, its gone in a day or 2. Be sure to keep a look out for Silver Kush, Royal Afqueen, The White, and Headband in their top shelf. They showed me this binder with all their previous batches in it with THC percentages. I saw their percentages consistently getting better! Also be sure to snag their Mango OG which comes out consistently, but sells out quick!
Atmosphere
This place has one of the best atmospheres I've been to. As soon as I step in the door, I am greeted by all the staff and they give me a tour of the place. There are buddha statues, hemp carpet, and this blue wall which is suppose to be stimulating for the brain. They always play good mellow music while we wait. The other patients are also very friendly, its like everyone here is a family. The associates remember my name everytime I come in, unlike some other places who pass me off as another patient. You can't beat their atmosphere.
Staff
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. When I first came to this place, Eric gave me a superb tour of the display case and answered all of my questions. The only time I notice them rushing a bit is when there is a really long line. This is understandable as there are other patients who need medicine just as much as I, and I happily oblige to speed my purchase up a bit. They assured me that they will be expanding soon, to meet the growing demand, so the lines won't be so bad.
Convenience
I don't know about other reviewers here, but I quite frankly love this location. Understanding whats been going on in Los Angeles and other places, it is necessary that this place is out of the way of residences, schools, and any other community oriented area. I love how convenient it is from the 680 and 880. It is hidden in an industrial park, but that's better than being located right across from some family homes, schools, apartment, complexes, or right in the middle of downtown like I have seen. I would rather buy my medicine discreetly which this place has to offer.
As for asking what they have, asking on the phone is not the best way to get information, due to legal implications, but looking on their twitter definitely helps. As for prices, the best way to find out their prices if not stated on their twitter would be to go in and ask. Once is all it takes.
Price
Their prices range from $30/eighth to $60/eighth depending on their quality and/or price they get it for. They also offer free 1.5g baggies for low income people like myself. Although I've been hearing from alot of people their price is too high, this place is actually one of the most affordable. With the excess money they receive, they offer free acupuncture and free chiropractics to any patient in need. I believe these community based services are vital for many people like myself who also suffers from a lower back injury from a recent car accident.
Overall
This place is great, and I couldn't think of a better model cannabis collective. Their premise is based on compassion for their patients. One of my buddies in a state without Medical Marijuana laws found himself in a dire situation being diagnosed with cancer. Harborside San Jose worked with him to acquire his temporary CA ID card so that he could get the medicine he needs. If this isn't compassion, I don't know what is.
Harborside, Thank You!
I really enjoy coming to this collective. Their atmosphere is really great for new coming patients. They greeted me at the door. All of the staff are really friendly. I will talk about a few points that they are awesome in.
Medicine
Their selection is probably one of the best I've seen in the Bay Area. They have midgrades for $45, high grades for $50-$55, and top shelves which are $60. Their Mango OG is one of my favorites and comes back every now and then. I also picked up a $15 Blue Dream Bubble Hash which is a great price!
Prices
Their prices are reasonable and very easy to work with. Occasionally they have $30/eighth budlets and $40 Mega Mixes which are super for those looking for cheaper variety.
Location
Their location is probably one of the best locations, as it is away from schools, residences, and community groups. It is easily accessible from the 680, 880, and the 101. It is a little hard to find, just look for the signs! Otherwise, great location!
Clones
They offer a 99 clone per day clone limit! With usually 5-6 strains a day! You can check their twitter for an updated clone list, so this is very convenient if your looking for a specific strain!
Holistic Services
They offer FREE acupuncture and FREE chiropractics! Can't go wrong with that!
Security
Their security is on point and makes me feel safe coming into this place. They are there to make us feel secure.
I love Harborside, and definitely will be returning!
Harborside Health Center of San Jose is a professional and organized marijuana dispensary. I have been to the one in Oakland and I see that it is very similar to the one in San Jose. I was very impressed with both clubs, although the one in San Jose is a little smaller. The club is very professional with security at the front door, a check-in desk, acupuncture and chiropractic services, and 2 display cases. What else could you possibly need? I tried the acupuncture and it went pretty well - the guy who does it is seems like he knows what he is doing. I was satisfied with it - how can you possibly complain about free acupuncture unless it does more bad than good? The medicine was not too bad, they have different price ranges depending on the quality. I got some of the top shelf purple dawg and it's pretty chronic. Great taste and very high thc content work together to make this pretty bomb bud. They have everything you need including edibles, concentrates, and lotions. I noticed that they carry a lot of Alpha Medicinal brand edibles, which are my favorite. All the top shelf buds looked pretty good but I was hoping for something better, since they are a branch dispensary from Oakland. I was hoping to see bud like you can find in the Oakland branch and in Medithrive. The thing that I least like about this dispensary is the prices. $60 for top shelf is already too high as it is, but $60 + tax is ridiculous. Edibles are also overpriced - the 6 dose Alpha Medicinals are for $15+tax instead of $10 flat in other places. If you are looking for a very professional medicine provider, this is the place for you, but you should know that you are also paying more for it because of all the services they offer and the employees they need to pay.
I've been coming here for quite a while now, along with many other collectives in the South Bay. I really like Harborside's selection. Like all collectives, they have their good days and bad days. On some days, you might get there at the perfect time, no line, good selection, and good deals! Like many who have posted here, there are $30 budlets which are a steal. The last budlets I got were th Mango OG budlets and cole's train budlets which are really good! Many days, you might be out of luck getting the deals, however this is understandable. Harborside has a large collective, as reflected by their long lines at times (30% of the time I go there are lines, most of the time theres barely any).
The staff are really friendly, and have alot of experience in their own right. Everytime I go in, they will tell me all of the good deals that are going on. I love their Hash selection. They usually have a really large variety of kiefs, hashes, bubble hashes, full melts, super melts, honey oils, honey buds, and butene glasses. For any hash connoisseurs, this is the place to go!
They also recently stocked up on a qide variety of lotions, topicals, and soaps for any of those with localized pain or arthritis. They stock now cannabis infused shea butter and shea soaps!
Harborside San Jose is getting much better every week I visit. Their stock heavily depends on patients like ourselves to bring in surplus quality medicine. They have assured me, it will only be getting better! This is understandable as they are only 4 months old.
I forsee it only to get better the next time I visit. The best part of harborside is that you can check their newly stock items as they update daily! If you see a deal, go there quick! It will probably sell out fast!
I was a little disappointed on the quality of their buds. I have been to Oakland Harborside and they had good bud but here they had a bunch of low end outdoor looking crap. Most of it smelt like hay. They only had 3 top shelf. They were good but the prices were 65 per 1/8! That is a little too much for me, especially with all the other clubs around right now. I was pleased with the clone selection but i have had bad experience with Oaklands genetics. I really like how it is set up on the inside though. A+ for that.
Excellent selection, considering they lab test everything, but youll pay for that in the long run with some strains ridiculously priced, but fortunately you dont have to buy a high price strain to get high price results so it kinda balances out and i do like the fact that they list the Thc CDB lvls of their meds, or at least the results according to their lab. Beautiful professional place, geat staff. they have really nice clones. lots of edibles, lil overpriced but then again i think pretty much every place over prices their edibles. Over All Harborside is definetly in my top 5 stop rotation.
Love the White Rabbit 6-dose edibles. If you think you have tolerance for eddys, grub that and try not to pass out. The dank is usually fire but tax is on you and the staff is hit or miss. The line is usually long and its not close to my house, but the selection of edibles and decent priced extracts (if you know how to shop) keep me occasionally visiting this great club if you have $$$$ to blow. hit or miss with the pricing. Sometimes they have great budlet prices and edible selection (WHITE RABBITS and smores to name a couple) usually theyre stocked, sometimes theyre not.
Good selection of cannabis but unlike Oakland they weren't that great. Some of the top shelf was fire but for $60-65 is too much. The lower shelf seemed to be either outdoor or bad indoor. Didnt have much of smell to most. Clones list was good but of course no where near Oakland. I guess I was just expecting a little better since Oakland is really nice.
BQ: Much Variety. Many Grades and Strains in all ranges of strengths.
Atmosphere: Meh. Like a bank....or waiting in line at a pharmacy. Standing in line is not good for people with certain conditions. I would prefer couches and take a number system. Way more laid back and relaxing.
Staff: Doorman was like a club bouncer with private security as back up. Then there is the metal detector guy. So that's 3 people 5 feet into the building. The welcoming Staff was great (2 more, so thats 5 so far I have had to go through), brief and too the point. Friendly. Bud Tenders were Meh. Nothing special, in a place like this I would have expected them to guide me to any good deals. But I had to see 6 people minimum. Methinks that is bad. Many reasons why.
Convenience: Close to freeways and expressway. Close to me.
Price: I am sure their overhead is high and the patient services are plentiful so therefor the meds are going to be pricey in order to cover those charges. Oh and the 3 people to make sure everybody is safe inside, the 2 staff members to sign new members up. That's covered in your med prices along with testing. You get what you pay for. There ARE good deals to be found.
I will probably be back at least for tinctures, maybe concentrates and edibles. I dont really need my nugs lab tested at this point, but that could change in the future. I may utilize the free services if I decide to purchase more meds from them. I would like to see some seeds listed/tweeted about online so I dont have to go stand in line just to see what they have. Overall I will most likely return soon.
Harborside is the epitome of a big dispensary. It has everything: Great buds, oils, tinctures, kief, yoga classes, growing workshops and clones and edibles up-the-yin-yang. Seriously, if there's something you especially want, check here first. They probably have it.
But, all that glitters ain't kief.
Impersonal best describes the atmosphere. High describes the prices.
You get molested walking in the door. The amount of eyes on you as you walk in is seriously unnerving. I approached the bar, bewildered by the variety of items to choose from. Racks of buds, color-coded, initialed, with a corresponding chart of prices and strain potency. More kief, oils, tinctures and edibles also color-coded with a corresponding chart.
I asked a question. The uninterested, slightly annoyed "budtender" kid answers: "The color matches the chart up here."
Shiii, I could be here a while.
Why not just put the prices on the sample? What's with this color-code BS??
Ultimately, I like Harborside. It has a great selection. When I want Butter Bros. Peanut Butter Cookies, I will come here. BTW, the Butter Bros. Peanut Butter Cookies ($6) are friggin' delicious. I'd also come on off hours to avoid the crowd/chaos/rush when it gets busy. There is much to browse and explore, so it might be a better experience when I return with a little more time and money to shop.
AmeriKind
probably the one of the most expensive dispensaries left in northern california. yet they do provide lots of services, if your into that sorta thing. but if your not...thats basically what ur paying for with the high prices. i walked in and out...didnt buy anything. i sampled some goo a friend got from their, "19% thc" wasnt special, didnt have a great taste.
Today I visited Harborside for the first time and I was immensely impressed, not only with their staff but also with their bud quality as well as their prices. Although they charge tax they make up for it with very fair prices on some very high grade medication.Their membership process was very welcoming and informative as well as quick. All of the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I first went in and bought a gram of the X-J13 which was an amazing sativa, and also some Blackberry Kush Indica dominant that I have yet to try. I was so impressed with the X-J13 I went back later and picked up another gram of the Purple Afghan and some THC capsules which are fantastic! I have to say this place was all class, they definitely set the bar high for clinics in the area.
Harborside is big business. This does not mean that they are not compassionate, but they are certainly focused on the $$$.
Bud Quality
---------
Top notch. What do you expect from such a large, well-known name? I would love to see their bud quality at other clinics throughout CA.
Atmosphere
----------
Medical marijuana is for patients so I take offense to their metal detector. In fact, I walked right through that metal detector with a metal grinder in my pocket and it didn't go off. Hmmm. I expect to be treated like a patient when I visit a clinic, but Harborside made me feel like a liability.
Staff
----
Friendly and knowledgeable, but nothing more than average.
Convenience
----------
Location is fine.
Price
----
Prices are higher than I pay elsewhere. Granted they have great meds, but I cannot justify spending $60 on an eighth I can get elsewhere for $50 or less.
I've been to most of the clubs in the vicinity. Good atmosphere, bud tenders are knowlegable and well natured, quality is good, not the cheapest place though. I don't like going throught the same check in process each time I go there, kinda annoying. Metal detector is over the top. Location is liability, car traffic is bad, you can only exit and enter one way in their parking lot. Incoming and outgoing traffic are always getting in each others way, accident waiting to happen.
Plenty of variety, which is what I was looking for.
Variety of prices as well, I don't mind paying high price
for high quality. Really big healthy clone selection.
Picked up some awesome sativa brownies too :).
Security can also be a little picky about where you park,
so try to park close to the building.
Very business like.
I'll probably be back for my next round of clones.
Intake took about 10 minutes. Pretty easy and informative. Friendly staff. Large metal detector. Had the feel of a public health office building to me. DMV feel standing in line? Guess not used to waiting that long lol so I would imagine more staff. The place was packed full of people though I was the only one in line?
Garmin GPS took me to the other side of street half a block up? Staff had no clue how to get me there on the phone out front 300 feet from business on corner of Ringwood and Concourse dr and I wasn't familiar with that area? Ok
On to what really matters.
Great selection of ok to good looking flowers, concentrates and medibles. Liquid Gold always recommended!
Prices were ok but it all boils down to the flowers for me and I couldn't see anything great through a rather large selection. Everything looked B-B+ The glass jar top shelf looked very weak especially from some of the jars below. I grabbed a gram of recommended ak-47 just to get something. When I got home I noticed it hadn't been tested. It tasted good and looked alright but the high was just ok. I wouldn't get it again.
Most of the staff were cool.
I would go back if I heard of a special concentrate or strain but that's about it.
Most of flowers I saw weren't tested or at least didn't have THC content.
Recommended for seriously ill people that need clean meds.
This was the first dispensary I visited, the same day I got my card. I was somewhat nervous but everyone was nice. The bud was good, the prices were high, but I've seen higher now that I've been to some other places. :-/
The atmosphere made me want to sign up on their computer for activist pro-pot stuff. The guy that helped me, didn't help all that much. Especially for my first time, I didn't know what to do. He was occupied with chatting it up.
Otherwise, a pleasant experience, and I look forward to returning and signing up for some free chiropractic services. :]
Their best quality is their good selection in bud and the quality of the bud. They also usually have a good selection of clones. For those economically hassled, you can ask about budlettes which are 30 dollar 8ths of whatever strains they have. There is nothing wrong with the bud other than the nugs are small (bug nugs none the less)
One downside is that there is a very high chance you won't be in and out. Longest average wait to see budtender out of all collectives ive been too. its not their fault its their popularity but still thought i should mention it.
The selection is good at harborside, but now that better clubs are around in San Jose, I don't know why I would go here. I feel like I am in a jail at this place. I came here for months because of the testing of thier medication for mold, but that was becuase the other clubs were worse and did no testing. One other thing, for all the times I have been in this place, nobody ever remembered my name. Call me old fashioned, but to me that says alot.
I've been to several dispensaries along the coast, and Harborside has been by far the most positive experiences I've had. The people and the process was professional. There was a strong security presence, which was welcoming. Everyone smiled and greeted me, someone even shook my hand. The environment was simply and tranquily arranged. My bud tennder was nice. He explained the menu to me and made some recommendations. The top shelf was "mother's best". That was tasty.
ladies, don't bring your purse. They have a place for you to keep them, but if you decide to go back to your car to put your purse away, don't forget your method of payment. This place also has a very patient staff.
Yeah, I paid a lot. It was worth it.
If you’re down with a large selection the getting your meds quickly, this place might be for you. The paperwork and approval was fast too.
Bud Quality – It’s no news that these guys have good quality meds and they have a ton of them… flowers, hash, edibles etc… I ended up getting the Royal AfQueen flowers. The trichomes were pretty insane and it smelled very earthy with a touch of spice. Very nice hybrid… great for relieving stress.
Clone Quality – I must have gotten there at the end of the day, because three of the strains they had advertised on Facebook that morning where slim pickings and one was gone altogether. And honestly, many looked like they needed water and most that were left had little to no roots coming out. These specimens should not be for sale yet. The next day, they advertised the same clone selection on FB, so I have to think maybe they just aren’t restocking them quickly enough.
Atmosphere – I’m not really into the whole metal detector, guys in security outfits thing… makes me feel a little uneasy, like I’m doing something wrong. But it’s a nice clean place and is set up for business.
Staff – For the most part everyone is nice. After I filled out the paperwork and was approved, I felt I was rushed through “the tour” and placed in line. When I got to the counter, the budtender never really seemed engaged in the conversation and I did feel rushed even thought they tell you that you have 30 min. One other thing that makes me think this particular budtender was not engaged was that he mislabeled a clone. I know which tray he pulled it from, but now I’m second-guessing and will only know for sure once it flowers. Argh!
Convenience – Very easy to find and plenty of parking.
Price – Prices are high to average and then they charge tax. I’d never fault businessmen for being in business to make money. But this place is definitely on the high side.
Overall… Again, if you want a huge selection of high quality meds, you might dig this place. I just don’t get any warm fuzzy feelings here… which means it’s not for me.
This place is so overrated. Ive been there 3 times and did not get anything. There top shelf was ok, dried out and not fresh at all. For 60+ an 1/8 you expect good quality. They have many strains, but nothing spectacular I went for a special strain that they advertised on weed maps and it said was updated 2 hours ago. When I got there the budtender said they ran out 2 days ago. For being such a big & popular club you would think they would keep weed maps current. I was highly disappointed!!
This place is hit and miss. Sometimes the people are really friendly - I was looking for a specific strain and they apologized for not having it and added me to an email list for when it comes in (though that was a few weeks ago and no email yet, so who knows if they were making that up?). Sometimes they aren't, and you get the sense that the budtender's just waiting for you to leave so they can go back to whatever they were doing before. I think one of the reason's everyone's so uptight is because they have such an air of professionalism - i heard no one is allowed to toke on the job.
The security guard and metal detector and such make me really uneasy. Lighten up, guys.
The stuff I got here was okay. I got a b582 brownie or something like that that they were toting to be amazing; it was about the size of a piece of fudge, very small for the amount of money it cost me. They said it was 6 doses and I should be very careful, because my tolerance is quite low and I'm right about 120 lbs. I ate half of it, and 2 hours later, was only about as high as if I'd smoked one bowl.
THIS IS NOT A REVIEW OF HARBORSIDES SERVICES OR BUDS!!!!
THIS IS A REVIEW OF THIER DJ SHORT BLUEBERRY SEEDS.
Okay, so first off, I loved this club, its the closest club to my house, and they have tons of great services that make up for the steep top shelf prices(66 1/8th). On top of that, they have a great selection of medicine, and they treat everyone great.
Now, having said that, I purchased 20 DJ Short Blueberry seeds from Harborside at the start of the growing season. 2 packs of 10 seeds, and was assured that while they weren't femenized, that they would produce a 49/51 ratio......
3 months later, 14 MALES AND 6 FEMALES. A perfect 7/3 split from BOTH packs of seeds. So I spent $224 on 6 female seeds, not to mention the countless dollars wasted on over 70 gallons of premium Fox Farm soil, and countless hours of tending, fertilizing, etc.......
I approached some people at Harborside with the issue, and was told that there were things that I should have done to improve my ratio.(something that had to do with a birth control pill and germinating seeds) I kindly replied back that I had heard of steps being taken to recieve a better than 49/51 ratio, but not to REACH a 49/51 ratio. I was handed off to management who said they would get back to me.
One and a half weeks later, nothing. No sorry, no attempts to replace the seeds with other seeds, or at the very least clones. NADA, just a weak explanation on why the poor ratio was MY fault. Since becoming a co-op member, I have spent over $1000 at Harborside San Jose(I'm 1/4 Jew, so I keep all my receipts), as well as put in well over 10 hours of activism. I pay the outrageous prices for herb because I ASSUMED that I was part of a co-op that cared about its reputation and the quality of the products that it sold, apparently I was wrong.
DONT BUY SEEDS FROM HARBORSIDE HEALTH SAN JOSE.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR CONSISTENCY AND AT LEAST A 50/50 RATIO, BUY YOUR SEEDS SOMEWHERE ELSE.
People have hyped this place up for quite some time now. They definitely make more business than all the other dispensaries in San Jose, but they aren't necessarily the greatest club around town.
The staff was nice & the verification process was quick & harmless. The lady who gave me a tour around the place was really nice & gave me good information about the place. I just didn't like how I couldn't bring my purse into the bud tending area - it made me feel naked & I didn't feel like it was necessary.
The atmosphere was great - decorated really nicely.
The location was convenient & there was plenty of parking.
And now we come down to the prices. BUMMER! $50-60 for an 1/8th with tax slapped on top of it!? I don't think it's worth it. I can go to a smaller club in San Jose & get meds for cheaper with the same quality! Where's the compassion for your patients? Sounds like they're more for the business.
Not going to waste my time giving them my money. I'd much rather go some place else.
Overall i liked this place. They have compassionate and friendly staff who are pretty knowledgeable. Finding the place is fairly simple. Parking was no problem and new patient registration was a breeze. The place was open, light and generally a nice place to be. This location doesn't seem to be very crowded.(only 1 person in line when i went in the early afternoon.)
It has 3-4 bud tenders working at a time and they preweigh all their meds. They usually have about 20-25 different strains of flowers to choose from and about 20 different concentrates. Top Shelf bud comes in a small, glass, airtight jar. They have some great edibles, tinctures, and topical ointments to choose from aside from just smoke-ables.
Prices are a bit on the high side(no pun intended) but that is to give you the guarantee that the meds you are using are 100% safe with their meds going to a testing lab for molds, and fungi as well as THC and CBD percentages on their bud and concentrates. As I understand it HHCSJ and HHCOak are the only collectives that do this.
Went here back in April... Going to harborside took me about 10 mins after existing 880. You are greeted outside by security before allowing to be entered into the shop. Once in the shop, you will need to walk through a metal detector. I read other people are a bit annoyed by having to talk through that, but I don't really mind it. As a new member, you are taken to a separate room for orientation. The lady that provided the orientation is nice and told us (there was 3 other people with me in that room) about the free services that was offered on site while I filled out their patient agreement form. After that, I am taken to the bud tender section. There was quite a line when I was there on a Friday about ~3 pm. It took me about 10 mins. to reach the bud tender. Since I was new, the bud tender dude gave me an overview of the products they have to offer. At the end, I got an 1g of blue cheese (currently the Bud Tender's favorit) and 1g of their current special that they announced through twitter. The nugs were a bit small but I did only pay $16 + TAX for them if I recall correctly. They weren't TS though. I did inquiry about the TS 8ths but they were a bit more than I was willing to pay at the time. Anyhow, did had a great selection of buds and other concentrates. When I got home, I tried both buds and the quality was decent for the price I paid. Overall, a good experience.
I have been to almost every club in the bay area and Harborside Health Center is definitely one of the best collectives i have ever been to. The medicine variety is dank. They have great deals on the low end stuff, the mids are pretty good too, their highs have had amazing deals (top shelves brought down a level for patient deals), and amazing top shelves that are straight up phenomenal. Their concentrates are very dank too! My fav in the past has been the hero melt and thc gold.
They also offer a great atmosphere...they have a friendly safety team, Brige is hella funny. They also offer free stuff like patient care packages, massages, and advice from the knowledgeable crew they have.
In summary. this is def one of the best collectives i have been to. i will continue to come here for as long as i can. They have made the greatest impression on me and i will stick with them for a long time.
This place is huge, I did feel a bit intinidated. Its def. is what others has describe huge veriety of buds, edibles, etc. more medicine than I can imagine. The staff though I found a bit un personable. I spoke to one of the gentlman with red hair, did seam too helpful. He did answer some of my question but wasn't very personable.
The Prices I felt were on the higher side from what I saw.
Over all I felt it was ok, a bit comercialized and very much like you Wallmart of Medicinal Can but with out the cheap prices.
Well I have gone to Harborside San Jose numerous times so I will keep updating my post should my experiences change my mind.
With that said, first time patients will have to fill out some paperwork and wait to be shown the facility before they’re able to make any purchases. Depending on the time of day you go you might be waiting a few minutes you also could be waiting a lot longer.
On a normal day you will have to wait around five minutes at least to see a budtender. Now this can vary a lot depending on the time of day you go and what day you go in. If you’re looking for a place to get in and out on the weekend then this is NOT your place, as the lines get ridiculously long during the weekends.
They will typically have around twenty or more strains of cannabis however they will only have around three to five top shelve selections available for purchase. I almost always get the top shelve as it always looks and smells the best, however beauty comes with a cost. These beauties will cost you $60.00 plus tax so be willing to spend. Also I am usually disappointed with my top shelve purchases, don’t get me wrong sometimes they will have chronic but most of the time I am wishing I went somewhere else.
Last purchase, Triangle Kush
Okay I love this strain so almost any time I see it White Rhino, Fire, or Fire OG I jump on it. As all those strains come from Florida and when grown properly are amazing. However this batch doesn’t live up to its name. While it has the normal Kush smell it doesn’t have that amazing Kush blow you away high. I was smoking a lot more than I usually need to smoke to feel fully medicated. So overall not a great buy. 3 stars…
One more quick update, last two times I have gone into Harborside I see the line and I turn around and go to another club. If you plan on going in on a Friday or during the weekend hours, be ready to wait and be ready to wait a long time. When you can go to another club and get just as good flowers if not better for the same price maybe even cheaper and NOT wait in those long lines. I don't know how people wait in those lines, they KILL ME!
BUD QUALITY:
It's usually possible to find some amazing top shelf medicine here, but if you really like anything you buy, it's likely to be sold out within 1-2 days. When they have an exceptionally good strain, it can move extremely fast due to Harborside's volume. They get a lot of business.
So if you're happy trying something new each time, you're almost guaranteed to find something really good, but you might not see it when you come back the next day.
Their concentrate selection is always top notch. Great place to buy concentrates.
ATMOSPHERE:
The location is nice and the parking lot couldn't be easier. When you walk in, there's usually an excessive number of staff clustered inside/outside the door, at the check-in desk, and at the metal detector. As they smile and say hi, I can't help but wonder how bored they must be, but they all seem polite and chill.
Their space is clean and has a good feel to it. However, the experience really varies depending on whether there is a line or not. On a good day, you'll walk right up to a budtender and receive immediate service. On a bad day, the line can be painful. Maybe it's because the people waiting in line have to stand still in the middle of the room with absolutely nothing to do. They won't let you fiddle with your cell phone if you're bored, so the only thing you can do is watch the budtenders serve patients ahead of you. If they're understaffed with only 2 budtenders and a dozen people are in line, it's a recipe for bad vibes in the room.
Harborside should consider putting a big menu up on the wall for people to look at while waiting. They really should improve on this. They're a very successful collective running two storefronts.. They should be able to create a better waiting experience than the DMV.
STAFF:
Totally variable when it comes to knowledge and experience, but everyone is polite and professional.
PRICE:
Too high overall, but generally you do get quality medicine for the money here.
Wow, I finally got a chance to visit the Harborside in San Jose and I was blown away by the quality of this dispensary. Here is a list of things to expect from this place
1. Hands down the best quality bud anywhere. I have been to over 30 clubs throught San Jose, Oakland, and SF; during my visit here I found strains like Triangle Kush, Sensi Seeds Jack Herer, and The White which blew away anything I have seen at any other club.
2. Nice and open set up. Some of the clubs I visited were to small, making me feel uncomfortable when getting my meds. Harborside in San Jose has a huge entrance area, and a big sized area to check out the meds. I love how they have a clean display case to show all the edibles, concentrates, and flowers that they carry. I like looking at my medicine, not a screen that tells me whats in stock.
3. Staff seemed cool, the security guards were a little intimidating, but I would rather be in a shop with strict security than not. The "budtenders" were smart and answered my questions about the different meds well.
4. It was a little hard finding the location, that's why I took one star off, once I did they had a large sized parking lot to park in.
5. Everyone seems to have an issue with the price of this place, personally I dont mind paying and extra $5 knowing that my MEDICINE is from top quality providers, gets tested, and is kept in glass jars that maintain the quality of the bud better than any other kind of packaging.
Great security which made me feel safe in and out. Busier dispensary then most in the area. They do offer Holistic services but are booked for a few months. Bud tenders were nice and friendly. Large selection but price was a little high. First strain I tried was Mothers Finest which was ok but not great. The next two I got were Star Dawg and Purple Bubba which was fire. Not any real good deals except a rewards card which you can get $17 towards your purchase. I would recommend you try them out if you like variety but expect to pay a little more.
Harborside...what can I really say? They tend to charge a LOT for their medicine and are very busy. Their bud quality is top notch, though. I don't enjoy it too much here because I feel the staff isn't very courteous and the place is just too damn big to care about little ol' me. However, they have a HUGE selection, so if you don't care as much about a personal experience and don't mind spending like $10-15 more per 8th, it's a good club.
Great selection of fine products at quite high prices with average service. That's Harborside in a sentence.
I went to harborside for the first time yesterday. I had heard alot about this collective and had to check it out. It was true that they had over 20 strains in stock, but only four or five looked to be top shelf. As much as I thought the 60 an 1/8 medication was overpriced, the stuff at 55 and 50 is WAY over priced. This is midgrade that I see at other clubs for 40. This place felt like a prison as I walked in and the staff was nothing special. I'm glad there are better options available.
How should i put this..????Harborside has been a club i wanted to try for such a longtime. When i 1st got to the door i had 3 ppl approach me i felt that was to much.I get in the door the ck u in then let u in the the room where u can buy ur meds.Seems very pushy not what im use to.I plan to spend lots money which most likely pays these peoples checks, and i feel im not getting the customer service im intitled to.Its more on a level of "Get ur shit and go".All they talk about is the same stuff how the bud is tested blah blah blah..Dont get me wrong the have great product jus need to work on getting sum friendly people to represent the company better. This place needs to step it up!!!!
I've had my card for a year now, and thought I should make my way over to Harborside since I've heard so much about them. I checked them out last week, parking and check in went smoothly. I was impressed with how may choices they had, so it seems like they try and have a variety for their patients. However, the problem with having so much variety is that I was left confused and wondering which one would be the best for me. The staff gave a helpful introduction but not too helpful in knowing which strains are good for diff ailments. Overall, harborside is good for quantity, not necessary for quality.
HHC SJ is one of the first dispensaries I went to. The staff is nice and very helpful. The presentation as a whole is great. If you break everything down, it's basically like this....
The prices of their medicine is higher than most places. There's also Tax that you pay on your purchase. These would be my only negative comments for this place as that on the flip side, you can pay with an ATM/Credit Card (not cash only). Also you the parking lot is very spacious and there isn't random people waiting around the facility.
The high price is worth it when you calculate a nice atmosphere, great selection, easy parking & location, they have a frequent buyer system (punch card for purchases) and of course you feel safe inside and leaving.
Another note for this place, I would check the public businesses near the dispensary for coupons. They often have them at gas stations and other places near the place.
They have a large amount of bud strains, but they have a few Edibles, Creams, Concentrates.
Harborside SJ has a very professional, clean/safe environment. Like most have mentioned, the staff is very knowledgeable and it's quite obvious they take pride in helping their customers. It's a bit pricey, but they have a great selection and you never have to question quality here (definitely the best I've had thus far). (:
As soon as you walk in and take in a deep breathe your completely relaxed, The bud tenders are very nice and mellow people also. They have cool activities they offer to the member free of charge. If you come in and sign up to volunteer then they throw you a free gram for doing some easy volunteer work which is a hell of a cool deal, They got tons of stuff to choose from, you will be standing there for 20 minutes going over each one back and forth in your head debating which one(s) to choose. They have good security protection and parking. The Purple Urkle they have there is some top notch stuff. I don't care for how you have to pay taxes and how much they charge for medication. I think if they dropped the price this place would be extremely better. The other thing I noticed and agree with other comments on is the lack of knowledge the bud tenders have. They don't know which bud had the highest CBD factors and which would be the best for what. Also if someone knows why they call their earwax co2?
their bud quality isnt always there and all the security is too much, but i understand that they have to protect themselves.
ive been to almost every club, i say almost because new ones pop up every month, and what i have to say is this, their hash is by far the best in the south bay. i went in last week and got a gram of their 35 dollar hash which was chocolate chunk and it was legit. and before that when the club barely opened i got some "mendo purps bubble" which is the best bubble hash ive smoked to this day.
overall, if their hash is like this all the time im going to be going back. i recommend people that like hash or any concentrate to get it from harborside san jose
This is the first place I went and the place I go to most for a couple reasons:
-Prices ranges are comparable to market rate
-Free Gram for first time customers.
-Quality is always there, even with the lower grade stuff. I never wonder if they are shaking the keef off their flowers before they sell them.
-Atmosphere is nice, although I don't go there for that.
-Staff is always courteous and their security guys in front are more like Costco than the places where security makes it seem like you're doing something illegal.
-Activism offerings. 1 gram a week for an hours work. I've done it about 3 times and it's been pretty easy.
-Informative website with prices posted.
The above are all nice but here are the 2 biggest reasons I go to Harborside
1. They accept Visa. I *hate* places that don't. Serious pet peeve.
2. Their frequent customer card gets punched at a low rate
One thing I want to mention further is I was waiting in line there one day and another patient began talking about prices/quality another dispensary. The owner (I think) came over and engaged the guy about the place in a positive manner and didn't get all eggy about discussing a competing dispensary. That was a serious positive for me.
You can't go wrong with Harborside.
This club has good meds if you wanna pay a high amount for your medication. while the other 80 clubs in san jose who sell decent afordable price not to mention how much more youll get for your buy.and this harborside always has hash over 30 if im lucky il find one for 25.over all this club is nice top go to if you have alot of money in your life.
Thank God for a place to find the clones I need!! I went up here strictly on a clone mission a few months back. Checked the place out and was very impressed but left with only a tray of clones. I waited to crop to review so here it is... Everything I got was exactly as labeled. I've been burned a few times by other shops claiming to have strains that ended up being nowhere near the said strain so it's a relief to find somewhere I can trust to find new strains. I treat everything to prevent bugs and milder and they stayed that way all the way through(I'm pretty sure they were bug and mildew free as they were). Thanks Guys, I'll be back next time I want to try out some new strains!!!! Happy Growing:)
I gave this place a shot, multiple times. The only thing worth while here is their concentrates. I would personally cap all of their buds at 50 and eighth, I havent seen any bud quality in the true $60 range here and I have had 5 instances with this place. Don't beleive all the hype of testing thc, there won't be any results available. There's only one BT in there who is actually nice, knowledgeable, and patient, thanks chick with the glasses :) . I'm not saying this place sucks. Buds are overpriced and dry most of the time, shiny new jars, big deal. At least your concentrates kick ass! I won't be returning anymore though. ONE other thing, theres like 20 million people working their. Makes me feel very uncomfortable, and the doormen are robots except the security guard, he's ok.
the dispensaries are SUPPOSED to be non-profit!! Harborside has the highest prices for medicine that I have ever seen!! well over street price! Their top shelf runs you over $66 - $74!! this is highway robbery!! for them to CLAIM that they are non-profit, they should go to hell just for lying. If the feds had any reason to investigate the dispensaries that are currently in business, then they should be adding harborside to the list to check out, because they are overpriced thieves!! I even know a few ppl that claim that they do not have valid recs, and haborside lets them come back again and again.. what the hell are they doing over there!!!
boycott harborside!!
Was in the SJ area & decided to stop by HHC in SJ & i picked up some Blueberry Headband that was super dank! Overall, i really enjoyed my experience & yes some of their medicine is priced a bit high, but other than that i will be coming back & recommend this place to friends in the area fo sho!
I'm only giving this club 5 stars for bud quality because of their slightly more exquisite top shelf. This club is very expensive. However, they do offer an incentive program with purchase points. The shelves below the top are just average. The atmosphere is comfortable. A little too white and bright though. The staff seems pretty knowledgeable. The only problem here is the very hefty price. The jars that the top shelf medicine comes in also suck. The jar/cap is very loose and un-snug so your bud dries out fast.
Sorry but this place was just not for me. I have been to a lot of clubs and I have to tell you I was really unimpressed with the bank style atmosphere. The Buds were nice but not the best I ever had. The price was a bit higher than I would have liked to paid but I can see where they charge what they do. The staff had knowledge of the buds and recomnded some good smoke but just did not act very friendly (not mean either). I dont know if i will be back here or not.
Harborside has always set the bar for safe access and should be the PROTOTYPICAL STANDARD for Dispensary's. Period.
I visited this San Jose collective on Friday night near closing time last week(Friday) and the Budtender was by FAR the most knowledgeable/friendliest & caring one I have ever met, and I've been to alot of different clubs. She gladly explained to me a wealth of knowledge about the products I was purchasing and took the time to actually CARE about the company's patients and her patient me. I was so impressed I wrote an e-mail to Harborside directly commending her on her excellent work.
I've been a member for months and all the staff are just as smart and friendly. A++ Service A++ Quality A++ Security (actual SAFE ACCESS!) and just in general a nice place to be.
This is how co-ops Should Be! If your complaining about price...well simply you get what you pay for, AND the prices are FAIR when you take into account all of the PURITY THC CBD MOLD analysis costs. Without going into to much info this process is NOT CHEAP. and to still offer 6 I believe diff. Price tiers and care packages to low income patients AND all the other services they offer is how all co-ops should be. It's not as big as the Oakland Harborside, but equal if not better in most areas listed earlier.
My only regret was not asking the budtender to exchange e-mails. Hell, TOTAL shot in the dark, :-)LOL but Message me here if u read this lol
And TECH N9NE - Get Blowed is my favorite anti anxiety medication music :-D.

I have been to San Jose Harborside many times and recently I purchased a top shelf 1/8th and the glass jar it came in broke into jagged glass piece when I opened it at home a day later. Now I was not cut and didn't loose any bud, but come on. I did almost cut myself. The next time I went to harborside I mentioned it to whoever was helping me. He was cool and said that was the first time he had heard of a jar breaking like that, and he left it at that. When I checked out right them I bought 2 grams of full melt and was only charged for one. I'm not sure if he didn't charge me for a gram because of what happened with the jar or that he just forgot either way I ended up with a free gram of full melt for my trouble which I felt was fair do you?
I like Harborside Health Center and I think it's is a good dispensary. I feel that the atmosphere, staff, and price could stand some room for improvement. Take the atmosphere for example: The building feels like it has an emptiness to it, even though there are Buddhas and decorations and things around it feels blagh. It seems like they could have decorated better with different colors and pictures. It feels a bit phony to me. The staff is friendly but some look like they are disinterested with helping you, basically some of the staffs customer service is not the best. Additionally, I've noticed there menu isn't updated regularly or available on weedmaps.com. In the recent past I will go in to get something I see up on the menu and by the time I get there the products all gone. I thought their concentrate prices are high and that the quality is not reflective of the high prices.
Ending on a positive note, I think it's great that Harborside offers a care package program for those with little or no money. This is awesome that Harborside does this for it's patients who qualify. I personally have a friend who majorly benefits from this program. He gets frustrated sometimes being unable to get medicine(medical marijuana) that is much needed for him because of no money. Well he can go to Harborside and get a free gram or 1.5 once a week which helps him as well as many others.
I just joined up on this wonderfully resourceful site and this is my first review. I hope that it's a well received one. Good Luck Bud hunting 2 All!!!!

ITS ALWAYS GREAT TO WALK INTO A STORE AND RECIEVE THE UPMOST QUALITY OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE ATMOSTPHERE IN THAT PLACE IS FILLED WITH POSITIVE EVERGY U JUST DONT WANNA LEAVE. PLUS THE EDIBLES WOW "ILL TAKE THAT EDIBLES PLZ" !!!
TO THE GUYS AT HARBORS, GREAT JOB KNOWING THE QUALITY OF MY MEDICATION
Clones Clones clones.. This is a great place to pick up some baby girls to grow at home. I have purchased clones from them twice now, and I have been quite pleased each time. I have had ZERO bug problems with them, and they usually always have a good selection. I wish the price would drop some.. 12$ each can add up.. other place's have clones 5-10 ,I can see from menu surfing. The place looks amazing inside as all harborsides do, they are very busy, always a line.. 5-10 minute wait I have found every time I go in.. so that must be a good sign, a busy store = many repeat happy customers I assume? PRices a little high on weed too, I hope for competition out of all the co-ops soon, and have the price drop this year.. we can hope, cant we ?
Got some top shelf for not a very great price, it cost about 7$ extra due to new tax laws, but got a jar with it which was sick. If you can make the trip to oakland way better. staff and atmosphere excellent. oh and i was a first time patient and did not get a gift, kinda weird first place that hasnt done that for me....... like i said oakland
Tried out a few different places and Harborside in San Jose has to be my favorite place to go. I was nervous about going in at first just because all of the security. But got over that quickly after meeting the staff. Everyone is nice and they give you a tour your first time to let you know about what they offer.
Ive definately seen more of a selection at other places, but they quality of the medicine is so worth it. And right now, they are absorbing the new tax the city approved of last week. I dont think they are going to do it for very long but its a bonus right now.
So apparently they list what 'budlets' are available for $35/ eighth on Sundays via Facebook / iphone app (just not Weedmaps for some darn reason).
They go quick but they're an amazing value if you can get there Sunday or Monday. I missed out on Super Skunk but did manage to nab some Cheeeese(lets).
They're smaller than the Oakland Harborside, if they get as busy as the Oakland location then lookout the line would get to the door quick. Other than being small it's all very clean and professional just like its Oakland counterpart.
I've been going here since they opened, I previously frequented their Oakland location and was happy to get the same great service in a more convenient location.
I love the variety of products they provide and appreciate the incredibly friendly staff. I never hesitate to recommend them!
I also love the iPhone App they have, the "deal of the day" is awesome & it's neat getting an idea of what's there before I arrive. WINNING!!
I really like Harborside. They always have top shelf meds and have a clean, safe atmosphere. The staff was OK, my one suggestion is that maybe the staff shouldn't be completely stoned at all times. I understand smoking if you work at a club, but often the workers seem too stoned to properly function.
The prices seem to be a bit higher than many other clubs, for that they get 3 stars.
I personally like Harborside, you get what you pay for. I pay a little more for a no hassle, easy experience where I can count on quality meds.
Harborside is a pretty well known club to most in the medical marijuana community, so I'll keep this review relatively simple. There's not too much to be said outside of what people already know.
ATMOSPHERE:
It's got a big club atmosphere, sort of like the Walmart or Target of dispensaries. Can be a plus or minus depending on individual preferences. Everything here, from the interior of the building to display counters, is very clean and there isn't a hint of "ghetto-ness" anywhere, which is nice.
There's a security guy out front. Most of the time, he's just businesslike and easy to deal, but can sometimes be a bit standoff-ish. For instance, you're not allowed to use your cell phone ANYWHERE near the club, even if you walk over to the other side of the parking lot. They'll really get on your case about that. That seems a little excessive considering there are other businesses in this plaza and the dispensary doesn't own the entire parking lot.
BUD QUALITY:
Consistently good. They have most of the more popular strains here as well as a few rare ones, and I've never gotten any flowers that weren't good. Their edibles are good too: fairly priced and they always keep the same ones in stock.
STAFF:
Staff is okay IMO. As with most bigger clubs, it just depends on which budtender you get. Some are better than others, but I don't recall ever running into one here that I found difficult to work with. Considering the mass amounts of customers that come to this club, I'd say the staff run the place relatively well.
ACCESSIBILITY:
Doesn't seem like a problem to me. Looks like a place that those in wheelchairs or requiring other forms of assistance could easily enter and exit.
PRICE:
Definitely on the high side for what you get, at least for flowers. This is the main reason I don't come here all that often. I can normally get the same or better quality flowers for a lower price elsewhere. Prices for edibles seem fair, though. They have an apple bar edible (8x dose if I recall correctly) that hits really nicely every time. I come here more for the edibles than the flowers as edible pricing seems more competitive.
Overall, this is an "okay" place. If you like big clubs, you can probably upgrade that to "excellent." It's safe, clean, and well run, but prices for top shelf flowers are just too high to make it onto my short list of regularly patronized dispensaries.
no sativas onthe top shelf
i came for some dank sativa in a jar
picked up a bunch of grams instead
got a gram of the top shelf purple erkle for 17
they dropped it to 16 today.
even though the budtender told me that was their best top shelf.
its a dollar but im still upset about the sativa situation
they need couches or something because i get tired standing in line lol
and i see lots of old people here so im sure they would be stoked
my experience here has left me not caring about harborside and its brand. its not cool to rep harborside and not succeed in caring for the patients needs. i feel like this location should close its doors because they truly are not a model that other collectives want to follow after, nor do patients enjoy the attitude on display from the "budtenders". yet i appreciate the opportunity to write for free grams, and the stimulus package, this collective is harsh on the lungs in its customer satisfaction.
my review for this club have been harsh but recently i received an email on yelp from someone from here saying that they were sorry and would change things up. i appreciate it but damage control goes beyond just my own experience. this super club should have better ratings then the smaller ones, but this one lacks flavor, smokeability, and its demeanor is awful. thanks for the email on yelp. see yall later
Great club. The bud is aight, prepackaged so it can be on the dryer side a bit. Wide selection of affordable concentrates. +++ The budtender hooked me up with some 15$ kief one day... the container was packed fat, very satisfied. Sometimes they run out of stuff quick like 10$ hash. The lines can be slow here but the staff are very friendly people and even offer an activism station where your service is rewarded with free meds. I can't wait to try sour diesel kief & blue dream hash.
Harborside is an incredibly clean accessible club with plenty of parking. The club itself is very appealing with great atmosphere and contemporary design. The top-shelf PURPLE URKEL is some of the dankest purp I have ever tried and is probably the best sleep-aid weed I've ever smoked. I also recommend the green ribbon as it is a very nice quality hybrid. My one complaint would be that as a first-time member I didn't receive any free gift or any discounts.
I've been visiting Harborside in San Jose for a little over a year. My experiences haven't varied much, but I have noticed the business start to change a little for the worse when I left the bay area.
When I first moved here I was enamored with Harborside because it was unlike anything I had seen moving from a MMJ unfriendly state. After trying a few "ghetto" clubs, Harborside was welcoming. The facility is clean and the staff was very friendly my first time in. They offer great programs like the care package program and activism to get free medicine to the patients.
The bud is always exemplary and diverse, although there would be some strains that would never seem to disappear. Out of my many transactions in a year I only got one bad batch of flowers with seeds in it. The concentrates are hit and miss; some of the budtender's recommendations seemed based more off price and upselling rather than their own experience with the product.
My biggest gripe was some of the budtenders they would hire :| Yes, you do look great in that top, but you know nothing about how to sell medical cannabis aside from being eye candy. Dan and Joel were by far the best employees there. They were always offering a good deal and very welcoming, unlike some of the other budtenders. The female receptionists were very friendly and sociable.
Overall I would agree with a previous reviewer and say that they are like the Walmart of medical marijuana clubs, which comes with its pros and cons. They are generally efficient, genreally friendly, and the strains are generally diverse.
I used to frequent the Oakland location for a long time before they opened up here in S.J. The products are basically the same. I always get their top shelves and high grades and have always been pleased with the consistency of quality. Everything is weighed out in advance, which sucks cuz there is never any extra love and their prices are probably some of the highest around, but not unreasonable. The thing here is that they have quality all the time. Everything is tested and you definitely get what you pay for. I've had some very tasty Blue Dream here. Also, they have an Indica strain called Boggle Gum which took first in the High Times Cup this year. While all the staff are pretty cool, some definitely know more than others. Overall, excellent quality buds and concentrates if you don't mind paying a little extra for the guarantee. You won't be let down.
I am the type of person that enjoys a good vibe. And even tho I havent been here in months I decided to glance at the reviews and a lot of the reviews that I see are similar to how I feel so I won't go too far into it. However I did want to point out the fact that I would have been a returning customer if I were actually greeted with a smile. My vibe was almost completely turned off because the greeting was more of a "...ooohh another 1?" type feel, almost as if I were a burden. I didn't notice any lines when I went in (which is a+) and the budtender (nice young lady with longer brownish hair, didnt catch her name)suggested her favorite strain which is "headband" and I must admit i really enjoyed it, but the prices was also a kicker.
its awesome how their top shelf strains end up having budlets that they sell @ a discount. its easy to find great deals with POTENT meds. i find paying sixty bucks plus tax for some top shelf meds makes me feel like a sucker. this is a great way to get top quality med for a great price...other clubs do the same but not with the consistent quality they do. i dont like their mixes atomic or whatever name. i find mixed results with them and usually not great. so i stick with the strains that consisitently work and sit for budlet deals....your gonna have to figure out a method on how to find out about them and when they are available
I don't want to talk bad about HS san Jose. it has always been good to me. always greeted with a smile, The bud tenders are very friendly and talkative at times, but the prices are really starting to turn me away. the budletts are the best buy when they have a good selection but I just can't afford their products anymore 60$ an 1/8 is just to high. I have bought lower grades due to price and have been disappointed to many times.
As I continue my search for ultimate satisfaction in a club, I visit the much talked about Harborside. The exterior is totally corporate looking but the inside is nice with an asian inspired decor. The parking lot is right in front so easy access.
The security there is intense. That's not a complaint btw. Makes me wonder if we are truly "out of the shadows" yet and "into the light.
The people working there were very helpful from the front check in to the budtenders. This place has great customer service.
The bud room counter has a few stations that have plexiglass type cabinets. The meds are displayed well with good signage displaying I/S, % if hybrid, and prices. They have concentrates, edibles, and drinks as well. I picked up some purple cheese kush bubble. It can really make your stash last a little longer. I also picked up some Star Dawg which was excellent. The bud tender Michelle was super helpful and knowledgeable.
Over all great place and I will definitely be back!
