Company’s plans for 1st medical marijuana-growing facility in Northampton get key permits

Northhampton, Massachusetts will soon have it's first medical marijuana growing and processing facilitiy as the company Just Healthy LLC secures their plot of land for their new building. Once the company recieves their conservation permit they'll be able to begin construction, officlas are hoping to begin before winter. Just Healthy is expecting to be able to sell it's medical marijuana products by next summer in their facility in Florence that will be used as an office space until it's remodeled to sell cannabis. The company's land will also feature a series of public trails that they plan on developing and maintaining on their 50-acre plot of land. While the new dispensary and cultivation facilitiy have not been without opposition, many locals have expressed their excitement to welcome the new business.

The city’s Zoning Board of Appeals last Thursday gave its approval to convert the 1010 Ryan Road location from a nonconforming gravel pit to a nonconforming manufacturing site for marijuana production. The Planning Board, meanwhile, voted to approve Just Healthy’s site plan for the facility the same day, which would contain a large greenhouse for growing medical marijuana. Marijuana processing is also set to take place on-site.`
