Washington's first drive-thru marijuana dispensary opens in Auburn

A new dispensary which is the first of it's kind in Washington state has opened in the city of Auburn despite all of the citiy's dispensary licenses already being taken. The store earned a license by opening on Muckleshoot tribe land through a loophole that allows tribal lands to dictate their own cannabis licenses. Not only did the dispensary earn a license when it seemed impossible, but the shop, Joint Rivers, is the first drive-thru marijuana dispensary in the state. While not the first drive-thru dispensary in the country, Washington adults can purchase a wide range of products from 7am-11pm without leaving the comfort of their car.

“We are grateful and excited to provide great cannabis products with stellar customer service by the most educated and professional team in the Pacific Northwest,” General manager Audra Jaggers told the Federal Way Mirror on Tuesday.

While Auburn limits the number of retail marijuana dispensaries in its city limits, Joint Rivers was able to open because it is on Muckleshoot tribal land
