The Oklahoma City district school board voted this week to allow students with conditions requiring medical marijuana to be able to use the cannabis medication on school premises under certain conditions. The medical marijuana medication will be required to be brought to school and administered by the student's caregiver at a designated private location, and then taken from school property afterwards. School employees are prohibited from assisting in the administering or storing of the cannabis medication. All cannabis medication on school property must be administered topically or orally, as no smoking is allowed on campus. While the conditions for administering the medication might be rather restrictive, the advancement of policy remains a positive one.

"It was passed by the voters, it's a medication and it's a medication that has been prescribed by a doctor," Mann said. "I don't see how we can possibly withhold it.
