Floridians in Miami Beach finally have their first medical marijuana dispensary after this week when Surterra Wellness opened it's doors. Approval from the city that allowed them to open came on the 4/20 holiday but a delay pushed the opening to the following Monday. Many in the state are advocates and think increased access is helpful while others are concerned about moving towards recreational acceptance. No raw cannabis buds will be sold at shops but Surterra Wellness will have an inventory of vape kits, oils, patches, lotions and free education for anyone interested.
The company is called Surterra Wellness and they’re planning to open a dispensary on Monday in South Beach.
Final approval from the City of Miami Beach came on on Friday, April 20th.
“I think it’s exciting,” said Tim Fountain. “I don’t smoke pot myself but I think we should have the right to do it.”
