EXPERTS SAY MEDICAL MARIJUANA COULD BE GOOD FOR PETS

Next on the list to receive medical marijuana treatment? Your best friend. That's right, new studies are supporting the use of medical cannabis to help treat certain ailments in dogs. It's important to remember as a dog owner to never give your dog straight cannabis or edibles of any kind as the effects can be significantly more intense and last much longer. There is not much research to specify proper dosage yet, but there are products out there without THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, that will surely help with dogs in pain in small doses. CBD oil is commonly used now to treat many human illnesses and now it can be used to treat anxiety, pain, and control seizures in dogs.

Veterinarian Dr. Gary Richter, who owns and directs the Montclair Veterinary Hospital in Oakland, California, recommends giving pets small doses of CBD oil, and assures all paranoid pet-owners that it has absolutely no psychoactive properties. 

Richter says low doses of well-manufactured CBD oil has lots of long-term benefits for pets, "from seizure and pain relief to easing GI distress, treating joint-related issues and even addressing mood problems like stress, anxiety, and aggression."
