Regular marijuana users have more sex, study says

In a new study published in Journal of Sexual Medicine researchers found that adults who smoke cannabis daily have consistently more sex than those who do not smoke at all. Dr. Eisenberg at Stanford University Medical Center often sees patients concerned about their sexual performance and some inquire if marijuana could be affecting them negatively. In his search for answers during the 50,000 patient study he found the opposite was true. Non-smoking women had sex about 6 times within the last 4 weeks compared to the woman who smoke cannabis daily having sex 7.1 times. Men non-smokers also had less sex than their cannabis smoking counterparts at 5.6 times compared to 6.9 times. Though people can feel different effects from cannabis it seems consistent  through marital status and race that adults who smoke cannabis daily are having a more sex than non-smoking adults.

"Usually, people assume the more frequently you smoke, the worse it could be when it came to sex, but in fact, we learned the opposite was true," Eisenberg said. His study was published in this week's Journal of Sexual Medicine.

The study looked at data from the US government's National Survey of Family Growth. It asked more than 28,000 women and nearly 23,000 men how often they had sex in the four weeks prior to the survey and how frequently they used marijuana in the past year.
