Ohio's medical marijuana program is finally taking steps forward after long delays as the cultivation facility Cresco Labs received permission to begin growing cannabis from the Ohio Department of Commerce this week. The 50,000 square-foot facility is located in Yellow Springs where it will grow over 30 strains of cannabis for patients all across Ohio. Cresco Labs currently operates in six different states with their home base located in Chicago. Cresco Labs Chief Executive Officer says he appreciates the state's diligence throughout the legalization and regulation process and they look forward to setting an industry standard.

“We’ve made a great deal of progress and are one step closer to providing relief to patients throughout Ohio,” said Cresco Chief Executive Charles Bachtell in a written statement. “We appreciate the state’s diligence throughout this process, as well as the community’s support. Cresco Labs intends to set the standard for this industry in Ohio as we bring our company’s national reputation and complete product line to market.”
