Ohio's medical mairjuana has experienced many delays but finally began operating in January when it's first dispensary opened it's doors. Since then the state's 5,500 patients have only had access to cannabis buds, raw plant material, as opposed to how most states with legal cannabis have access to many different forms of cannabis like edibles, oils, waxes, tinctures, topicals, and other varieties. Ohio will soon join the ranks of fully functioning legal cannabis states now that the first processor has been awarded their certificate of operation and will soon be able to begin selling all different kinds of processed cannabis products. 37 other processors have been awarded provisional licensed in Ohio and will hopefully be awarded certificates of operation soon.

The state Commerce Department has awarded Ohio’s first certificate of operation to a medical marijuana processor, allowing for the conversion of cannabis into edibles, tinctures, creams and other products.
