50K Signatures Gathered For Arizona Initiative Legalizing Marijuana
Published on 8/5/15
Arizona is well on it's way to marijuana legalization due to the group, The Marijuan Policy Project, who announced recently that they have reached 50,000 of the 150,000 signatures needed to put marijuana legalization on the ballot for vote. If the proper amount of signatures is gathered by July 7th, 2016, then Arizona voters will be able to decide for themselves if they want to legalize marijuana like alcohol. If passed, adults over 21 will be able to possess, grow, and purchase marijuan from legal regulated business.
The initiative would allow people age 21 years and older to grow and consume small amounts of marijuana. It also would set up a regulatory system allowing licensed businesses to grow and sell marijuana and let local governments oversee or prohibit pot businesses.
