European Parliament Votes On Resolution Supporting Medical Marijuana: Here's What It Means
Published on 2/12/19
The European Parliament earlier this week passed a resolution that intends to reinforce notion that cannabis needs to be reevaultated for medical research and use in European countries. While the resolution does not enact any laws, like the World Health Organization, it is recommending that action be taken and supports countries in doing so. Officials from GenX Biosciences say this could have a huge impact on the entire cannabis industry around the world. By having the support of Parliament it not only helps convince the validity to the general population but it also promotes the need for research in in the scientific community.
“More importantly, we now have a path towards safe and regulated products while defining proper product standards. The next logical step would be a cannabis products directive to solve the regulation disparities across EU member states,” he told Benzinga.
