Discover cannabis culture in Dallas, TX

There’s a lot to love about Dallas. No matter who you are or what you enjoy, Dallas and its surrounding metro areas have something to offer. Located in northeast Texas, just forty minutes east of Fort Worth, Dallas is a booming cultural hub that has a district for everyone. Up north, the city is calm and open, while down south and around the city you’ll find art districts, drinking districts, boutique districts, business districts, and even districts primarily built around natural preservations. Along with a few other Texas cities, Dallas is one of the nation’s premiere taco capitals, and it’s also known for big beer gardens and craft food and drink. Whether you’re a cowboy or urbanite at heart, Dallas is the place to be. 

Unfortunately, Dallas is not the place to be if you want an active cannabis scene. We’re hopeful that Texas will legalize marijuana within the next year or two, but for now, neither recreational nor medical marijuana is legal. Some medical marijuana has been legal since the state passed the Compassionate Use Act in 2015, but only for very specific conditions and with marijuana restricted to no more than 0.5% THC. The current penalties for being caught with marijuana are also fairly severe, with a misdemeanor, up to 180 days in prison, and a max $2,000 fine on the line if you’re caught with less than two ounces. However, voters widely favor decriminalization and medical legalization; and with more states legalizing every year, it’s only a matter of time.
