Here’s where the first recreational marijuana shop in Boston will ‘probably’ open, according to Marty Walsh

Massachusetts recently opened their first two dispensaries after legalizing recreational marijuana, but those two dispensaries aren't exactly accessible by most of the state's population. Particularly Boston residents aren't thrilled with the long drive it takes to get to either Leicester or Northampton and are wondering when shops will open up in their city. While the next dispensaries in line to open are also not very close to Boston, Mayor Marty Walsh affirms that the city is working hard on bringing recreational marijuana dispensaries in. Currently the closest shop in the works is in the North Station area and will be called Ascend. But the best estimate given for it's opening was "early next year".

Given that more than 62 percent of Boston voters voted to legalize recreational marijuana in 2016, some residents may be understandably eager to know when — and where — they will be able to actually legally buy the substance within the city’s borders.
