Washington DC Marijuana Decriminalization Bill Signed

Yesterday, Washington DC Mayor Vincent Gray signed a bill allowing up to 1 ounce of marijuana to be considered a civil infraction with a penalty of $25! Previously, you could spend up to 6 months in jail and pay $1,000 for the same thing.
Great news to see our nation's capital stepping up and treating things fairly. Responsible adults should not be victimzed for choosing safer substances, least of all when racial profiling statistics enter the picture. Now we can only hope that the legislatures of Washington DC will walk next door and tell their federal counterparts how the nation should be working.
