Marijuana may help heal broken bones - new study

Medical Marijuana Posted Jul 18 2015

Despite the federal government's schedule 1 ruling of marijuana implying no medical value, scientists are finding new medical benefits for cannabis all the time! CBD has become somewhat famous as the non-psychoactive healing cannabinoid in marijuana, and more recently as the ONLY effective treatment of epilepsy in children. This week scientists from Tel Aviv University discovered that CBD also enhanecs the healing process in fractured and broken bones. The more studies keep revealing benefits of cannabis the more likely it will receive more support from politicians and eventually be rescheduled to a proper class.

“Other studies have also shown CBD to be a safe agent, which leads us to believe we should continue this line of study in clinical trials to assess its usefulness in improving human fracture healing,”

“We only respond to cannabis because we are built with intrinsic compounds and receptors that can also be activated by compounds in the cannabis plant,” Gabet said.

“The clinical potential of cannabinoid-related compounds is simply undeniable at this point,” he added.
