Legislators were wary of starting a marijuana program while still unsure if they could provide clean and safe drugs to patients, so they allowed the program to proceed but limited patients to 4.23 oz within a 2 month period. After this week's confirmation from the lab that the medical marijuana being used is safe, legislators were happy to increase patient bud limit to 10 oz, well over double the previous limit.
