Marijuana shop joins substance-abuse prevention efforts

The Responsible Alcohol Program in Colorado will be changing it's name to Responsible Association of Retailers after including both tobacco and marijuana in it's agenda to better the community. The program previously opposed the state's marijuana legalization campaign, but now instead focuses on allowing adults to choose for themselves, and keeping drugs out the possession of children. One way the group helps is by conducting secret shopping to determine if a dispensary is asking for proper ID. If a shop fails a test, they are notified outside of the authorities and given a chance to correct the issue.

"No matter what people choose to do in their adult lives, let's work together to make sure it doesn't get into the hands of kids," he said. "It just made sense to work with retailers to see how to work together."
