WATCH: The medical marijuana Super Bowl ad CBS rejected

The Super Bowl will soon be watched by millions of people in the coming weeks and beyond the game itself, the advertisements are widely loved by many different audiences for their humor and wide reaching concepts, but isn't it time that cannabis joins the discussion for one of the largest audiences in the world? A heartfelt ad for medical cannabis was sent to CBS by Acreage Holdings to be considered for the Super Bowl recently and unfortunately the ad was met with a simple no thank you. A spokesperson for CBS announced that they are not currently accepting cannabis-related ads. While some other networks might also feel similar, it's important to know what exactly the ad says and what other ads will be allowed to air during the Super Bowl. Alcohol ads are commonly a huge comedic part of the Super Bowl, but unfortunately CBS isn't ready to show their viewers the important video that shows 3 medical marijuana patients, how they've struggled for years, and how cannabis changed their lives for the better. Watch it for yourself.

According to USA Today, Acreage said its ad agency sent storyboards for the ad to the network and received a return email that said: “CBS will not be accepting any ads for medical marijuana at this time.”
