Shoreline Village is a waterfront center that includes entertainment, dining, and shopping. A great little neighborhood, the center overlooks Long Beach's beautiful Rainbow Harbor. Take a walk through the shops and you’ll find quirky little trinkets, souvenirs, toys, and even ice cream. Take a ride on the antique carousel, rent a bike and explore Long Beach, there are even harbor cruises to enjoy. With all the restaurants nearby, you can also grab lunch or dinner in Shoreline Village.

A beautiful artistic neighborhood, Naples is bustling with locals and tourists alike. Built on the three islands of Alamitos Bay, you’ll find this neighborhood to be more like a quaint little town in Italy. Why? Nicknamed “Venice of America” there are gondola rides along the canals, a marine park, delicious ristorantes like Michael’s, and fun places to grab a drink like The Hangout and Crow’s Cocktail. Spend a day at Marine Park where you can find picnic and play areas and volleyball courts.

Known as the arts and cultural district of Long Beach, East Village is a great place to take in the nightlife too! Here, you can explore art galleries, designer boutiques, antiques, vintage used books, as well as a plethora of shopping and entertainment. Be sure to check out The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub or Taco Beach for a bite to eat after you hit up some local Long Beach marijuana dispensaries located nearby.

Take a stroll down Redondo Avenue for all the major attractions the city has to offer and be sure to have your camera handy for the famous birds. Boasted as a “one of a kind Long Beach experience”, you can hop aboard the Queen Mary and stay overnight in their floating hotel. You can even go ghost hunting on the Queen Mary. Take a tour through mazes and check out the creepy empty pool, then have a few drinks at the bar or look for haunted passengers. The legendary ship offers tours and exhibits, as well as dining, the hotel, and can even serve as a meeting or wedding venue. Tickets for individual tours vary, however Passports for inclusive day attractions start at $30 for adults/$15 for kids; with Long Beach Aquarium and Queen Mary Passport combos at $52 for adults/$35 for kids.

One of the coolest features of Long Beach is the public transportation system known as Aqualink. You can visit the Queen Mary and hop over to Belmont Shore via the boats for just $5. The catamarans are a pretty cool way to see some special sights in Long Beach, and are great for those who don’t want to get a DWI - because the city will fine you for smoking and driving. There’s also a full bar on board where you can grab a cocktail and make the most of your boat ride.

The iconic hill is the perfect place to take a hike and see something unique - oil wells. The area was once covered by oil wells, and still is with them bobbing in between homes. If you drive to the top of the hill, there are many trails to hike where you can see breathtaking views of Downtown LA, Orange County, and Catalina Island.

There isn’t just one, but two lovely museums to visit when you are in Long Beach. The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA for short) that boasts of one beautiful 15,000 square-foot sculpture garden. Then you have another museum, The Long Beach Museum of Art, tucked within the historic Anderson house which was built on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Their Breakfast Dip is basically a wicked plate of nachos for breakfast - a mixture of hard boiled eggs, ground country sausage, pico de gallo, black beans and cheese, topped with sliced avocado and served with fresh made tortilla chips - talk about breakfast goodness. You can also savor chicken and waffle sticks, french toast, breakfast burritos, and “Eggs-N-E-WAY”, all served with a “Breakfast Bar” style twist. Breakfast appetizers start at $8 and entrees begin at $8.50. They also offer lunch, as well as vegan and gluten free options.

Ballast Point Tasting Room is the perfect place to take in the breathtaking views of Alamitos Bay. With an outdoor deck facing the bay area, you might want to spend the whole day here. One of the coolest offerings they have: Starting on 4/20 they’ll offer yoga and beer on the waterfront. A great way to unwind in the morning after stopping into one of the local recreational dispensaries in Long Beach. From plates to share, salads, flatbreads, tacos, and burgers - there are lots of delicious eats to choose from here. Appetizers start out at $9 and entrees at $12, which are pretty standard prices for an All-Day-Menu in California.

If you want to feel like you’re on a rooftop garden dining in Italy, Michael’s On Naples is the ristorante to visit in Long Beach. Not only do they offer a Chef Tasting, they offer a Pasta Tasting as well with five course of decadent seasonal dishes. Michael’s Paccheri is a pasta dish you won’t want to miss, because outside of Long Beach you won’t find this pasta in the United States, but it’s one delicious staple in Rome. Tasting menus start at $60 per person and have a wine pairing option to add on. While it’s a little more expensive than some restaurants in Long Beach, you can get away with a gourmet salad and pasta dish for around $35 per person - which is why the tasting menus are so highly recommended.

Steeped in charm, this place serves up some of the most succulent chicken you can find - even in the south. From individual pieces of chicken to plates which include baked beans, slaw and white bread, Gus’s World Famous Chicken has something for everyone. This is also the place to go if you’ve never tried fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, or fried okra. One of the oldest pubs in Long Beach, this place has been open since 1924. Pop in for one of Joe’s “Special” sandwiches, grab a world famous t-shirt and a schooner, and just take in the warm atmosphere and friendly people. Joe Jost’s even boasts of a famous root beer that’s been a staple at Joe’s since the Prohibition Era. Legend has it, “Joe’s stayed open and sold draft Root Beer to keep his customers thirst quenched during the Prohibition.” Of course, you can also order sandwiches and hot dogs, pickled eggs, and Marmion’s Peanuts. With prices ranging under $10, this restaurant is great to stop into after you’ve spent $$$ at one of the many dispensaries in Long Beach.
