Winter Park

Located just 15 minutes from downtown Orlando, Winter Park couldn't be more different from what the name implies. Known for its lush green parks and tree-lined streets, this neighborhood is a great way to get away from the craziness of the theme parks. You could easily spend all day wandering around the area with plenty of boutiques and dining options to peruse. And if you’re in Winter Park on a Saturday, be sure to check out the weekly Farmer’s Market.

Disney Springs

We had to include Disney Springs because it's just too cool. Created by Disney as a free place to visit when guests aren't at the parks, Disney Springs has four unique sections -The Landing, Marketplace, West Side and Town Center. Featuring a bowling alley, movie theater and dozens of shops and restaurants, it's worth a visit during your stay in Orlando. Grab a drink from one of several bars before stopping in the World of Disney, the largest character store in the world. Disney Springs is the ultimate spot to let your inner-child out without breaking the bank at the parks.

Thornton Park

Renowned for its architectural bungalows, cobblestone streets and close proximity to the beautiful Lake Eola Park, we’ve fallen hard for Thornton Park. Get an iced coffee to-go from Craft & Common and wander the quaint streets as you window-shop the many boutiques in town. If you find yourself in the area on the second Thursday of the month, make sure you check out the 2nd Thursday Wine & Art Walk hosted in the neighborhood.

What to do in orlando

Get Spacey at Kennedy Space Center

What goes better with medical marijuana than a trip to the best space museum around? The Kennedy Space Center is an incredible way to learn about the history of American space exploration and have fun at the same time. We highly recommend the Rocket Garden where you can walk among the giant spaceships from previous launches. Don’t miss your chance to meet a current astronaut with daily presentations which include a Q&A session (great time to ask about aliens). There’s more- you can even practice your astronaut skills and pretend you’re in space with the training simulators on-site.

Find Adventure at Universal Studios

We wanted to exclude the "typical" tourist spots from the list, but Universal Studios is too fun to ignore. It's the perfect adult playground with plenty of thrill rides, interactive entertainment shows, and an abundance of delicious theme-park food to eat. With a Transformers ride, a Harry Potter world, and so much more, it’s sure to be an out-of-this-world experience. Take advantage of your medical marijuana card and pop in an edible (or two) before spending all day exploring your favorite movies.

Where to Eat in orlando

Se7en Bites

Source: instagram.com

It wouldn’t be right to be in the southern United States without some classic comfort food. At Se7en Bites, you’ll find just that and more. Located just 5 minutes from Audubon Park Garden District, this popular spot is our go-to for breakfast or lunch in Orlando. Don’t be afraid of a line outside the door - we promise it’s worth it. Our favorites? The Grilled Pimento Cheese & Bacon or the 7th Trimester are at the top, but you can’t go wrong. Celebrity chef Guy Fieri paid a visit while filming Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and if it’s good enough for Guy Fieri, it’s good enough for us.

Pizzeria Valdiano

Source: pizzeriavaldiano.com

Let’s be honest - pizza is one of the best foods when you have the munchies (or really any time). Our favorite New York-style pies in Orlando come from Pizzeria Vadiano, and you don’t want to miss out. It was love at first taste when we tried the Pizza Sofia, and the Bread Knots are out of this world. If you’re not in the mood for pizza, you can also find plenty of other classic Italian options. Pizzeria Valdiano is located in Winter Park and is a great place to fill up after a long day.

Black Bean Deli

Source: blackbeandeli.com

If you can’t make it to Cuba, Black Bean Deli sure does come close. This trendy cafe even won the Orlando Sentinel’s Foodie Awards for Best Cuban Food. Be prepared to spend some time looking through their simple but amazing menu. We love the classic Cuban Sandwich and Picadillo Plate. Their two locations are conveniently located in Winter Park and have the coolest vibes. Don’t forget to grab an empanada (or two) while you’re there!
