Medical marijuana has been legal in Canada since 2001 and has been helping patients with various conditions since then. Medical patients are allowed to possess up to 30 times their daily prescribed amount but may not have more than 150 grams at any given time. Medical marijuana patients can either grow a small amount of cannabis at home for their own personal use or continue to purchase it from a licensed producer.
