INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAM

Cannabis Oil Extract, as opposed to smoking or vaporizing cannabis, involves processing the plant using various solvents to produce the Extract. Until California implements the Medical Marijuana Safety and Regulations Act, the cannabis industry remains unregulated in regard to consumer safety.

The increasing numbers of patients electing to use cannabis oil extract as a medicinal treatment option, has increased the need for cannabis providers to use due diligence to ensure that the extract is tested for contaminants. Moreover, patients who are using an oil extract generally have limited knowledge or access to information regarding the oil extract or its application.

The MCC Oil Extraction Program was established to provide education and support services to patients who elect to use oil extract as a medicinal treatment option.

DATA COLLECTION

Working in association with Stacey Kerr, M.D., developer of the Data Collection Survey Instrument for the Society of Cannabinoid Clinicians, the MCC is collecting data from patients who are using oil extract for the treatment of a documented medical condition.

The Oil Extract Program supports the collection of data on a "specific THC/cannabinoid profile of an extract that a patient is using over an extended period of time. The Data collected from patients is valuable in identifying specific cannabinoid profiles that appear to be working best for a specific medical condition.
