Laurel, Maryland is a beautiful city located halfway between Baltimore and Washington, D.C. While it may be known as a popular spot for families to settle down outside the city, there is plenty to do for visitors and locals alike. For the adventurous, Terrapin Adventures nearby offers beautiful zip-lining through the forest and other activities. For those interested in history and spies, head to the National Cryptologic Museum to learn about code-making. Take a trip into the past by going to the Montpelier Mansion, a home built in the late 1700s. Laurel also has plenty of options for shopping, dining, and drinking for all to enjoy.
Unfortunately, Laurel is not the most cannabis-friendly city as it only allows medical marijuana sales. In 2017, Maryland’s medical marijuana program went into operation, allowing any Maryland resident who has an approved medical condition certified by a participating physician to apply. The state has decriminalized cannabis for those without an MMJ card, though. If you’re not a medical patient or caregiver and the police catch you with less than 10 grams of marijuana, it’s only considered a civil offense subject to a fine of $100. But anything between 10 grams and 50 lbs is a misdemeanor subject to fines of $1000 and 1 year of jail time.
