These Influential Marijuana Users Defy The Stoner Stereotype

With so many states legalizing marijuana in one way or another, almost half the population admits to trying marijuana atleast once, including lots of celebrities who you didn't know smoked. The group, Marijuana Policy Project has put together a list of the 50 top influential people who have smoked marijuana atleast once. On that list you'll find people like Barack Obama and 8 of the upcoming presidential candidates who have all admitted to smoking when they were younger. On that list you'll also see celebrities like Justin Timberlake, Morgan Freeman, Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey, and even Bill Clinton. Many of these celebrities still use the drug for medicinal and recreational reasons.

“We hope this list will make people question some of the anti-marijuana propaganda they’ve been hearing for so long,” Mason Tvert, communications director for MPP, said in a statement. “Millions of adults enjoy consuming marijuana for many of the same reasons that adults enjoy consuming alcohol. The only thing that makes marijuana consumers more likely to become ‘losers’ are the legal penalties they face just for using it.”
