Top 7 Things To Do In Orlando While High
Published on 4/24/22
It's fair to say that Florida isn't exactly the most forward and progressive state when it comes to stuff like cannabis. However, that certainly doesn't mean that residents of the Sunshine State don't enjoy their pot. While medical use might be limited to low-THC, high-CBD options, it's clear that the state of Florida is ready to kick the tires when it comes to recreational legality as well. While the Florida Supreme Court recently shot down a popular ballot measure that would have allowed citizens to vote on whether or not they wanted legal cannabis in their state, this is the first attempt at money to bring the legal cannabis cash cow into Florida for good. However, until that happens, fans of cannabis in Florida will have to settle for getting medical cards of their own and paying Florida dispensary prices if they're looking to roll up and smoke in the Sunshine State legally.
As experienced stoners know, however, the legality of cannabis in a particular city is less important than if you can get your hands on it and enjoy some good quality cannabis. One of the shining examples of this is the city of Orlando, Florida. As long as you know where to get weed in Orlando, you can have yourself a grand time in this wonderful city. But what exactly is there to do here? If you're into sports, you could probably go and check out an Orlando Magic game or something, but since sports isn't for everyone, this list will feature mostly non-sports-related stuff. What popular Orlando attractions can be taken to the next level with some good weed and some buddies? Are there any specific or unique Orlando weed laws you'll need to keep in mind while enjoying your fun in the sun? Where are the hottest and most popular places in town to enjoy? Thankfully, we've assembled them all in one handy list for you!
Orlando Weed Laws You Should Know
Before we dive into where and how you should enjoy your cannabis in Orlando, it's important to note that Orlando is one of the few places in Florida where cannabis has been decriminalized! As long as you're carrying 20 grams or less, you'll only be slapped with a minor fine if you're caught by the cops holding pot. So with that in mind, Orlando is easily one of the most progressive and friendly cities in Florida regarding cannabis legality.
So now that you know you can safely get, possess, and buy pot in Orlando, let's break down some of the best places in the city to enjoy it! Whether you're getting your cannabis from a buddy or a medical marijuana dispensary, Florida has a lot to offer you in terms of fun and engaging activities to do while stoned.
Cocoa Beach
There are few better feelings in the world than feeling the sun on your skin, the sand between your toes, and the signs and smells of the ocean. That's why we highly recommend stopping by Cocoa Beach after toking up. Watching the sunset is highly recommended, whether you're rolling or not. However, it's important to keep in mind that while any Orlando resident will claim Cocoa Beach as their own, it's not technically within city limits. That means if you get caught using or carrying pot, you will get more than a slap on the wrist fine from the cops. Fair warning to make sure the good times stay good.
The Harry P. Leu Gardens
With a warm, wet, and temperate climate like you have in Florida, there's absolutely no sense in not enjoying some of the unique and gorgeous plant life fostered there. That's where the Harry P. Leu Gardens come in. The garden is a cornucopia of tropical flora and fauna that comes together to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience. While it might not seem like the most exciting thing in the world while sober, it feels like a trip into a beautiful alien world while you're baked out of your mind.
Lake Eola Park
If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind Orlando experience that won't cost you a dime, then this next entry on the list is for you. If you're a fan of pinching pennies and balling on a budget, get yourself and your buddies to Lake Eola Park.
Known as "the heart of downtown Orlando," this park is perfect for walking around hitting a vape or one-hitter lakeside before relaxing over by the Disney Amphitheater. While you should still keep your head on a swivel and avoid any trouble with the cops that keep the park safe and secure, this wonderful little park is a great place to go for a stroll with the crew while puffing on your favorite strains.
Cape Canaveral
If you've ever considered the logistics of space travel, are a lover of sci-fi, or have ever wondered while you're baked if there's life in the universe outside of our solar system, then this next entry on the list is perfect for you. We highly recommend a trip to Cape Canaveral, the birthplace of NASA. A great fit for science nerds, visitors can explore exhibitions that trace the American aeronautical program from the dawn of the Space Age to the modern-day.
However, it's important to note that just like with Cocoa Beach, this site is a bit outside the Orlando city limits. So tread carefully if you're carrying some cannabis on your trip.
Universal Studios
If you're a late 80s or early 90s baby looking to embrace your inner child, then Universal Studios is the place to be. With stoner classic properties like "Ren & Stimpy," "Pete & Pete," and "Rocko's Modern Life" on their roster, along with stuff like the E.T. and "Back to the Future" rides, you can't go wrong by getting into this park blazed out of your mind. However, it's important to note that since bags are x-rayed and inspected, your best bet for getting high in the park is downing an edible or blazing through a one-hitter in the parking lot before going in. You definitely won't regret it, we promise you.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Orlando is unarguably the land of theme parks, fun in the sun, and exposed shoulders. So when in Rome, do as the Romans do, right? For people of a certain age, the Harry Potter series was a cultural staple that couldn't be matched. So if you can explore the wizarding world of Harry Potter while blitzed out of your mind, it would only make sense to do that, right?
Since this park is part of the previously mentioned Universal Studios, you'll need to keep your weed outside in the parking lot before heading inside. That's no worries, you'll enjoy the butterbeer far more that way anyway!
Disney World
Perhaps the most well-known amusement park in the world, this shining jewel in the crown of the great state of Florida is an attraction that pulls people in from every corner of the planet. Dubbed "the happiest place on Earth" for good reason, it should be no surprise to find Disney World on this list.
While it is possible to get high in the park itself, it does carry a huge amount of risk. If your secret smoking spot gets infiltrated by one of the park's many security guards, you'll need to be prepared to book it if you plan to stay in the park any longer. Fail to run fast enough, and you might end up stuck in Disney jail. And yes, before you pull up your favorite search engine, that actually is a real thing.
