Shumlin on marijuana: 'Been there, done that'
Published on Jan 28, 2015
Vermont Governor, Peter Shumlin not only supports the legalization of marijuana, but openly admitted to having smoked through much of his 20's. Shumlin supports legalization, but wants to take it slow to learn the early issues from recreational states like Colorado and Washington the way they waited with Vermont's medical marijuana dispensaries.
"I would argue that our dispensaries have been doing a great job, that they have not become a market for folks outside of medical need to get access to marijuana, and that we got that one right," Shumlin said. "So there's a great example of why it's smart to wait."
