OLCC allows medical marijuana deliveries in banned areas

The Oregon Liquor Control Commission made a decision last week to allow medical marijuana to be delivered to patients even in areas where the act had previously been banned. Concerned patients and advocates were finally heard by regulators and they will get access to their medication deliveries by December 28. Travelling outside of these restricted limits is not always an easy task for some caregivers and patients and this new regulation will help many. The regulatory committee also changed the amount of cannabis adults can purchase in store from 1 ounce up to 8 ounces.

Commission spokesman Mark Pettinger says advocates and patients had voiced concerns about rules that limited access to medical marijuana. In some cases, caregivers had to travel outside restricted areas to buy medical marijuana.
