Why The Next President May Have To Support Marijuana Legalization

Published on 4/6/15

Quinnipiac University recently polled several states if their citizens believed marijuana should be legal or not. The results are showing 3 of the swing states for presidential elections are in favor of legalization, and in the last 55 years no president has been elected without winning atleast 2 of the 3 swing states. This leads us to believe many candidates for the 2016 election will probably be in favor of legalizing or decriminalizing marijuana for atleast medical use.

“If the next president isn’t willing to personally support ending prohibition as the best policy approach, he or she at least needs to push for changing federal laws so that seriously ill people can use medical marijuana without fear of being harassed by the DEA. Medical marijuana polls way better with voters than any presidential candidate does,” Angell explained.
