Chandler is a well-kept city within the greater Phoenix metroplex, located roughly 30 minutes southeast of downtown Phoenix. Chandler is most commonly known for its city parks, as it boasts beautiful day-destinations like Veterans Oasis Park and Desert Breeze Park. Like its parks, downtown Chandler is perfect for an afternoon stroll and leisurely fun. Open, clean, and very pedestrian-friendly, Downtown Chandler offers a good time for just about everyone. From street tacos and pizza to Irish pubs and craft coffee shops, Chandler has a hangout for everyone. On top of that, the city is only a few miles away from the South Mountain Park and Preserve and the Salt River for those interested in more outdoor-oriented adventures.
Arizona has had medical marijuana since 2010 and just recently legalized recreational marijuana with Proposition 207 in November 2020. Chandler’s medical dispensaries generally operate between the hours of 8 AM and 10 PM, some of which do offer delivery services. The city of Chandler voted on December 7th on whether or not to prohibit the sales of recreational marijuana within city limits – the vote and newly passed ordinance make it so that dispensaries without a dual license cannot legally sell recreational marijuana. This does not mean, however, that adult-use weed will not be coming to the city. Chandler currently has a few medical dispensaries within official city limits (and several near its borders), which may apply to become a dual-licensed dispensary to also sell adult-use marijuana later in 2021.
