Found on the border between Maricopa and Yavapai counties, Peoria is a huge suburb of Phoenix. While much of Arizona voted to enact Proposition 207, also known as the Safe and Smart Act, the language within the law allows cities to opt-out of allowing recreational marijuana sales. Unfortunately, Peoria is another city opting out and banning recreational marijuana products within city limits. Because of Peoria’s decision to opt-out, only medical marijuana patients can purchase and possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana every 2 weeks. Typically, Arizona state recreational possession laws limit only allow adult users to purchase up to 1 ounce of marijuana flower or 5 grams of concentrates, but Peoria’s ban does not allow adult users to possess any marijuana within city limits. Also, if you don’t want a DUI, do not drive under the influence of marijuana.
