Discover cannabis culture in Montrose, CO

Nestled against the western edge of the Southern Rockies, Montrose is a small town bursting with adventure. Like many other Colorado cities, Montrose proper is home to an eclectic assortment of shops, art galleries, and brewpubs. The city has a lot to offer and is well worth a day of exploration, but the true beauty of Montrose is its relationship to the surrounding landscapes – it is referred to as the “Hub of Western Colorado” because of just how close it is to endless Rocky Mountain adventure. Directly neighbored by the San Juan Mountains, Black Canyon National Park, Gunnison Gorge, and Uncompahgre Plateau, you will never run out of new places to explore and vistas to experience when staying in Montrose. 

Colorado is known for stunning panoramic views and endless mountain trails, but it’s also known for its marijuana. In 2000, Colorado became one of the first states to legalize medical marijuana and did so again in 2012 with recreational weed. While Montrose does not currently have a recreational dispensary, it does have several medical dispensaries. Additionally, surrounding cities like Ridgeway and Naturita have dispensaries that offer both medical and recreational weed. The medical cannabis stores in Montrose are open from 9 AM to 6:45 PM and provide a wide range of product to patients with a valid medical marijuana card. While it is legal to purchase marijuana from a nearby town, it is not legal to use marijuana in public or drive while under the influence.
