When you think of Florida, you likely think of sunshine, beaches and shopping. For those visiting Boca Raton, you’re in luck as it has all of the above and plenty more to do. Boca is located in Southeastern Florida north of Fort Lauderdale. Along with its sunny beaches, Boca Raton is known for the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center which has plenty of boardwalk trails and a butterfly habitat to explore. If you need a break from the sun, head to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens for a serene stop where you can learn about Japanese culture and wander through primly kept gardens. There’s also plenty of shopping and fine dining in town, so you’ll leave town with a happy stomach and a lighter wallet.

For residents with a valid Florida medical marijuana card, you will soon be able to purchase cannabis in town, too. While the state legalized cannabis for medicinal use in 2016, Boca Raton, unfortunately originally chose to restrict sales in town. However, in early 2020, a law was introduced to the city council to end the moratorium on medical marijuana sales in town and passed. For those without medical marijuana cards, it is highly recommended to avoid consuming cannabis in Boca Raton as the city and state have not decriminalized it at this point in time.
