Even though state law allows for adult, recreational-use marijuana, we wouldn’t recommend smoking in public. If you’re caught possessing in public spaces, like a park, you could be fined up to $2000. Luckily, that’s only in public spaces. Adult users in Michigan can carry up to 2.5 ounces on them and are allowed to have an additional 10 ounces locked in a secure container in their homes. There are a few Jackson-specific laws to keep in mind. Mainly, the city ordinance states that dispensaries must be closed from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m., so make sure you plan to get your marijuana before they close.
