Kalamazoo is an enchanting small-town Michigan experience that offers immediate access to the outdoors and has a wonderful charm. The city can be defined by its local art scene, old red-brick buildings, a quaint downtown, and streets lined with trees and busy sidewalks. Kalamazoo prides itself on inclusion and creative culture and boasts year-round activities, ranging from hiking and biking to museums and city festivals. It may be a smaller town, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an endless list of things to do in Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo offers an active local food and brew scene, but it’s also one of the larger marijuana capitals of Michigan (as is the neighboring city of Battle Creek). The state has had legal medical marijuana since 2008 and recently became the 10th state to legalize recreational weed in November 2018; and while many cities have been slow to introduce adult-use marijuana licenses, Kalamazoo already has a handful of options. Kalamazoo dispensaries tend to operate somewhere between the times of 9 AM and 9 PM, and most offer online ordering options. There are currently no delivery services available, although the trend is picking up throughout Michigan and may soon come to Kalamazoo. Additionally, note that the use of medical and/or recreational marijuana in public is prohibited by law.
