Located just an hour and a half north of Oklahoma City, Enid is a spacious and friendly town situated in the heart of the Oklahoma plains. Straight out of the wild west, Enid is built on land that allows for true country living. The city itself has a bustling main strip with plenty of local restaurants and bars, and there are well-kept trails for biking and running throughout the city, but the real fun is found just outside downtown. The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center offers a unique glimpse into America’s past, annual rodeo events offer frequent entertainment, and there are plenty of surrounding golf courses, skate parks, disc golf courses, and recreational trails. For a small town in the middle of Oklahoma, Enid has a ton to offer.
Enid is also home to a large handful of medical marijuana dispensaries. Oklahoma legalized medical marijuana in 2018 with State Question 788 and cities were quick to adopt dispensaries into the fold. The state has relatively low-bar cannabis policies, which has made it easy for cannabis culture to quickly take root throughout Oklahoma (including Enid). Hopefully, sooner rather than later, Oklahoma will join the growing number of fully legalized states. Not only are there medical dispensaries, but it is also legal for medical marijuana patients to grow up to six marijuana plants at their residence. Most dispensaries in Enid are open between the hours of 9 AM and 9 PM (although hours vary by shop).
