The City of San Jose is the third most populous city in the state of California and best known as the cultural, financial and political center of Silicon Valley. Besides Silicon Valley being the innovative center of the United States tech industry, the city is a notable center known for its Mediterranean climate, affluence and extremely high cost of living. Many major global tech companies like Cisco Systems, eBay, and Adobe Inc. maintain their headquarters in San Jose. Despite lots of expensive real estate in the city, fans of the paranormal should check out the Winchester Mystery House- the property and mansion haunted by the ghosts of those killed with Winchester rifles. For those looking for some outdoor action, be sure to check out Almaden Quicksilver County Park for beautiful pedestrian hiking trails.
While you’re in San Jose, be sure to hit up one of the many dispensaries in town. Back in 2016, the state of California passed Proposition 64 which allowed any adult over the age of 21 to buy up to one ounce (28.5 grams) of recreational marijuana from a licensed dispensary. Retailers range from storefront dispensaries or delivery services, as both are legal in the city. However, the city of San Jose requires all dispensaries to close by 10 p.m. It is important to note that smoking in public in San Jose is illegal. Despite the State of California allowing for the use of recreational cannabis, the use of cannabis on federal lands (national parks, airports, etc.) is still illegal. Additionally, driving under the influence of cannabis is also illegal and is subject to DUI laws under California State Law.
