Unfortunately, cannabis laws in Utah tend to be more strict than many states in the Western United States. While neighboring states like Colorado and Arizona have already legalized recreational cannabis, Utah only legalized medical marijuana in the 2018 election. While this is good news for those who have been certified by a physician with an approved medical condition, Utah’s recreational users are still subject to some of the strictest weed laws in the country. If caught possessing less than 1 ounce of cannabis products, adults could be charged with a misdemeanor and with a fine of up to $1000 and 6 months in prison. Additionally, any conviction leads to a driver’s license suspension of up to 6 months. Of course, since no cities have decriminalized possession, the weed laws in Ogden are no different than the rest of the state. Luckily, CBD is legal across Utah and the entire United States.
