One of three cities in the Washington Tri-City area (along with Kennewick and Pasco), Richland is located right along the gorgeous Columbia River and is home to a thriving local music scene and eclectic downtown. Kayaking, boating, and water skiing are all immensely popular pastimes for locals and visitors alike, and there are also of park and biking trails that stretch from the river throughout the rest of town. There are also several well-known wineries that put on tastings and tours, and the local eatery scene offers a wide range of mom-and-pop experiences with incredible food and chill atmospheres. Surrounded by natural Washington beauty and filled with northwestern charm, Richland is a great place to be.
While there are many great things to be said about Richland, the city, unfortunately, does not have the most weed-friendly regulations. Both the city of Richland and West Richland do not allow the cultivation or distribution of marijuana within city limits, although certain groups are increasingly putting pressure on the city council to alter their stance. That being said, there is a single dispensary in West Richland. The cannabis company Nirvana was able to open a location in West Richland because, while it is within the boundaries of West Richland, the land is technically owned and regulated by Benton County. The store is open from 8 AM to 11:45 PM and offers a wide range of products. Hopefully, as the city council continues to receive pressure from activist groups, we will see more dispensaries pop up around Richland.
