Located just over 30 minutes away from Denver, Boulder is a perfect getaway from the big city. Perched in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, there’s an endless amount of outdoor activities to do nearby. We recommend taking a hike in Chautauqua Park or making your way to Boulder Canyon where you can join students from CU Boulder for a float down Boulder Creek. If you’re looking to relax after a day of outdoor adventures, grab a beer at one of the many breweries in town or take a stroll down Pearl Street where you’ll find plenty of shops and tasty restaurants to choose from. If you’re looking for some good bud, Boulder also has a plethora of dispensaries to choose from.
Colorado became one of the first states to legalize medical marijuana in 2000 with the passing of Amendment 20. In 2012, Colorado voters took to the polls once more to legalize cannabis for recreational use. The market has been open since 2014, and the state’s marijuana industry is thriving. If you’re looking for dispensaries in Boulder, you’re in luck - the city has plenty to choose from. The city allows dispensaries to be open until 7 PM and anyone over the age of 21 with a valid ID may purchase up to 1 ounce of cannabis flower, 800mg of edibles or 8g of concentrates at a time. Although it is legal to purchase marijuana in Boulder, be sure to wait until you’re in a private space to smoke - it is illegal to do so in parks or public areas. If staying in an Airbnb, make sure you ask your host before lighting up.
