While Salem, Massachusetts might be famed for its witch trials in the 17th Century, there are many things to do outside of the witchy history of this town. Located on the northern coast of Massachusetts, Salem is known for its beautiful summers and maritime history. On a sunny day, head to Salem Willows Park to relax by the sea. Head to the Salem Maritime National Historic Site to take a look at the history of shipping in colonial times. If you find yourself drawn to the history of the witch trials, head to The Witch House at Salem to walk through a house directly related to the trials. The Salem Witch Museum also explores the history of the trials and all that happened.
Although Salem has a lot to offer on its own, it’s gotten much better with the legalization of marijuana. The state of Massachusetts legalized cannabis for medical use in 2012 and then for adult-use in 2016. While there are just a few marijuana dispensaries in Salem to choose from, consumers will find plenty of products at each. It should be noted that it is illegal to consume marijuana in public in the state. Marijuana consumption should only be done at home away from the public’s view. It is also highly illegal to smoke weed and drive and should never be attempted.
