Although it is the capital of the Golden State, Sacramento is somewhat of a hidden gem in the state, often overlooked by those visiting just Los Angeles or San Francisco. That being said, it is absolutely worth a visit with something to do for everyone. Located on the confluence of the picturesque American and Sacramento rivers, Sacramento is a gorgeous town steeped in Gold Rush history. Take a stop at the California State Railroad Museum and the California State Capitol Museum to learn all about the region. While you’re in town, make sure you head to Old Sacramento to get a feeling for what it was like to be in town during the famous Gold Rush. The city has a vibrant restaurant scene and nightlife, so be sure to check those out while in town! And don’t forget to visit one of the many dispensaries in Sacramento - the city has a variety to choose from.
California has been a groundbreaking state when it comes to cannabis legalization. Being the first to legalize marijuana for medical use in 1996, the state has a long history with cannabis. After the state legalized marijuana for adult-use, the new Green Rush has begun in California. While some cities in the state, unfortunately, do not allow marijuana sales, Sacramento is a thriving cannabis capital. With over 150 dispensaries in town, you’ll have plenty of options to find a dispensary nearby. If you can’t make it to a dispensary, you can also order weed delivery right to your door! Those over 21 are able to purchase up to 1 ounce of cannabis flower or 8 grams of concentrates each day. For those with a medical marijuana card, you may purchase up to 8 ounces at a time. Dispensaries may only open until 9 PM, so be sure to check on a dispensary’s hours before visiting as they may close earlier.
