Just a short drive from downtown Phoenix, Glendale is a booming suburban city in the greater Phoenix metro area. Glendale is known for many things, one of which is the State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals. The city is a major hub for baseball, with two different complexes where four MLB teams conduct spring training. Glendale is also a golfing oasis and one of the biggest shopping destinations in Arizona. The downtown offers everything you’d want for a fun day of walking in and out of local shops, good eats, and amazing craft beer. If you’re more of an outdoor person, Glendale is near the eastern edge of the Phoenix metroplex, giving it easy access to beautiful recreation spots like the Verrado Lost Creek Trail and White Tank Mountain Regional Park.
Glendale happens to be the home of Arizona’s first state-licensed dispensary. Since 2012, Glendale has provided the community with high-end medical marijuana. With the new state legalization laws that were passed in November 2020, Glendale may also soon see adult-use marijuana become available. The state will begin accepting recreational license applications in January 2021, and dispensaries should begin to be approved sometime in March or April of the same year. Glendale dispensaries generally operate between the hours of 8 AM and 10 PM, and a small handful of them do offer delivery services per Arizona laws. Please note that, even as recreational marijuana is legal to use and will become available to purchase, it is still illegal to smoke in public and drive while under the influence.
