Las Vegas is best known for gambling, drinks, lights, attractions, shows, and surprisingly good food. It’s a city of sin and vice, of good times and weekend getaways. Las Vegas is a non-stop party, with hundreds of dazzling spots along the strip, but it’s also surrounded by incredible nature and outdoor sports. Once you’ve had your fill of gambling and enjoyed the party, Vegas provides the perfect launching spot for day excursions like rock climbing, kayaking the Colorado River, or zip-lining across Bootleg Canyon. No matter what you’re in the mood for, Las Vegas has it.
There are many things about Las Vegas that differentiate it from other places around the country – legalized recreational marijuana is one of them. Nevada legalized medical marijuana in November 2000, then legalized recreational marijuana in November 2016. There are now dozens of dispensaries throughout Las Vegas, most of which offer medical and recreational sales. Additionally, dispensaries around Las Vegas have a wide variety of store hours, but many of them open as early as 8 AM and close as late as 12 AM or even later. The only downside to Las Vegas’ regulation is that dispensaries aren’t allowed within the “gaming corridor.” There are only two dispensaries that are within walking distance of the strip – the rest are located a few miles away. Beyond that, like every other state, it is illegal to smoke marijuana in public (or in the casinos) or to drive while under the influence.
