Biddeford, Maine is built right along the Atlantic coast, nestled against its twin city Saco and the gorgeous Saco Bay. Scenic views, picturesque lighthouses, and charming beaches are the more well-known highlights of this beautiful seaside town. Less well-known are its many parks and top-notch craft brew and distillery scene. The downtown area, defined by colonial brick and local shops and restaurants, is incredibly walkable and only a brisk distance from the coast. The Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge is just south of the city for anyone looking for an easy hike, and dozens of lakes and rivers wind through inland Maine just a few miles away. Biddeford is also just a convenient 30 minutes south of Portland, which means you have immediate access to both the small-town charm of Biddeford and the more bustling vibes of Maine’s largest city.
Along with everything else it has to offer, Biddeford is home to several high-end medical dispensaries. Maine legalized medical marijuana early on, in 1999, and then legalized recreational weed in 2016. However, it wasn’t until October 2020 that recreational sales finally began. There are still less than two-dozen recreational dispensaries in Maine, and unfortunately, none of them are currently located in Biddeford. However, more dispensaries are continuing to get licensed for adult-use sales and we’re hopeful that Biddeford will soon see recreational marijuana sales. The medical marijuana dispensaries in Biddeford are open between the hours of 10 AM and 6 PM, and there are recreational dispensaries in nearby cities such as Portland if you are looking for adult-use marijuana.
