Rochester is located in southern Minnesota on Silver Lake. The city has plenty to do for the whole family. The Quarry Hill Nature Center gives a good look at the local natural surroundings and is a fun way to spend the afternoon. The Mayowood Mansion is a beautiful mansion built by the Mayo family, founders of the famous Mayo Clinic. For those looking to spend more time outdoors, the Douglas Trail offers beautiful views outside the city.
While we highly recommend a trip to Rochester it is unfortunately not the most marijuana-friendly city. Minnesota did legalize medical marijuana in 2014, it is an expensive and difficult program to access. The state has not legalized the purchase of flower for patients, and most edibles are restricted. There are also only 8 dispensaries across the state. Luckily for patients in Rochester, the city does have a dispensary. The state has decriminalized marijuana for those without an MMJ card, with a $200 fine for those caught with less than 1.5 ounces. That being said, it is still illegal to consume without a medical marijuana card.
